Shipping by Weight and zip code

Hello I haven't spent much time looking through other posts on this but was just curious on what the best way to be for shipping like this. What I would like to have is when checking out you type your zip code and it also calculates the weight which seems to be set up already and the shipping is calculated by both. The shipping cost would be different if you are going to send to Florida rather than say Jamaica. Is this possible. I could be missing it inside of zc. I haven't messed with shipping that much. I am not sure what the zones are and such. Could i get some info on this or some good mods or downloads which will help me out.

Depends on how you're shipping. The UPS and USPS modules built into Zencart do this for you, as long as you have the item's weight specified. I believe the add-on FedEx mod does as well.

OK I am actually going to ship UPS ONLY and I have that module installed but maybe I am not sure how to do it. For one I don't have ALL the products with weights just because I am not sure how I will do things. However I have set two of them with weights and put them in the cart chose the ground ups and it actually says (1 x 7lb) or something like that however on that the pounds don't match up to what they should be. However at the top of the cart it shows the correct weight combined. So if i could just get some clarification on how the ups portion of the shipping module works on zc and how to incorporate the zip code pricing as well that would be great. I want it to be where the client can enter their zip code and calculate the shipping that way as well.
