category restrictions - some products work, others don't
I'm a little stumped about what's going awry on a test coupon I'm working on for a client. Here's the way I have the coupon set up:
Top Level -> deny
Sub-category -> allow
There are two categories below the category I have allowed. As I understand it, the coupon should be applied to any products in both categories that are within the category I set to allow.
However, some products do not get the discount even though they are in the category that is allowed.
I can't find any major differences between the products that work and those that don't. However one thing that may be a possible issue is that my client did not follow my advice to not include products within categories that also contain other categories. I wonder if this causes a problem with the way discounts are applied to categories.
Any thoughts?
