Re: Struggling with templates

Ok,

Ive just done another complete fresh re-install of zencart into Wamp, loaded zencart store onto browser, everythings great and how it should be using the default and classic template.

Right, this time I think to myself, Ill load a really simple template (one that you dont need to put different files in different places).

So I download "barbones" (nice template to work on by the way).

It only has 3 files, "CSS, Images and template_info", so these can all go straight alongside Classic and Default, no messing about, jobs a good,un.

Activate in the admin panel and ........................... nothing, apart from the page has gone full screen and it doesnt look as its using any styling from either the Classic or Barebones templates. It does have some rainbow coulours here and there.

Ok, so that didnt work, never mind Ill just switch back to Classic and get the standard store back up in the browser, this didnt work either, the stores stays exactly the same.

So Ive come to the conclusion there is something else wrong somewhere, maybe the version of Wamp Im using. Im going to do a complete cleanup tommorrow and remove any evidence of Wamp, Xammp, zencart of my machine and start again.

Re: Struggling with templates

Just re-loaded zencart fresh again, everything fine.

Without doing anything at all to the files I went into Admin/Tools/Template selection.

I see this -

Template language Template name Templated directory
Default(All) Classic Contemporary Green Classic

I then go to edit template to change template, only there is no other template there because I havent put any others there.

I go to re-update the classic green template, then refresh my browser to see the store and it has lost all its styling and it has gone full page width again.

Furthermore when I go back to the Tools/Template page there is nothing underneath template name and templated directory, it now looks like this -

Template language Template name Template directory
Default(All)

Anyone ever had this before, it looks like there not saving for some reason.

Re: Struggling with templates

Finally got a template loaded.

In the admin panel Tools/Template selection I never clicked on Language selection as well as Edit. I assumed I didnt need to touch this as I wasnt changing any languages. 18 :censored: hours Ive spent on this when it was 1 click on a button.

Thanks for your help anyways everyone.
