Quantity discount question

So here I am trying to figure out how to make ZenCart do what I want while displaying something that a custom will understand.

The product cost is $23.00 for one item. However if you buy a larger quantity the price is cheaper (but static) for the additional items.

$23.00 for 1 widget
$26.00 for 2 widgets
$29.00 for 3 widgets
$32.00 for 4 widgets
and so on.

So 1 widget is $23 and more than one is $23 plus $3 for each additional item.

I can do all sorts of crazy things in the Products Price Manager but then it doesn't make sense to the customer when they see that table! Without taking the easy way out and removing that table, how can I do this?

Re: Quantity discount question

Have you an URL to your product where we could perhaps see what your table looks like?

Re: Quantity discount question

I've deleted it all because it doesn't work. The point is, I can't figure out how to do this and need help.

The first product costs $23, any more of this product costs $3 each. So how do I add the products properly? If it really matters this is for a printing company.

Editing the products in the Products Price Manager only allows me to set a discount on the overall price or as a percentage.

Re: Quantity discount question

With a Product Price of 23.00 ... I can setup the Quantity Discounts using:

Discount Type: Actual Price
Discount Price from: Price
Discount Levels Minimum Qty Discount Value Calculate Price: Extended Price:
Discount 1 2 13.00 $13.00 x 2 = $26.00
Discount 2 3 9.67 $9.67 x 3 = $29.01
Discount 3 4 8.00 $8.00 x 4 = $32.00

And I get a table that results in:
Qty Discounts New Price
1 $23.00
2 $13.00
3 $9.67
4+ $8.00

That is the closest I can get to your prices the way you have them setup ...

You also have Amount Off as the Discount Type:
Discount Levels Minimum Qty Discount Value Calculate Price: Extended Price:
Discount 1 2 10.00 $13.00 x 2 = $26.00
Discount 2 3 13.00 $10.00 x 3 = $30.00
Discount 3 4 15.00 $8.00 x 4 = $32.00

Resulting in:
Qty Discounts Off Price
1 $23.00
2 $13.00
3 $10.00
4+ $8.00

See if either of those can work for you ... you might fudge with the numbers a bit on the quantity 3 for a closer price to $29.00

Re: Quantity discount question

And that's the problem, the table shows those prices and they're technically wrong but the final price is correct. I guess the best way to do it would be to simply hide the table

Thanks

Re: Quantity discount question

Sounds like you are trying to add a Discount for Quantity 1 and that is not needed, the table will build that for you ...

Have you an URL to the Product you have this set on that we can peek at what you have so far?

Re: Quantity discount question

I've added the discounts again and the URL is http://www.labelleprinters.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=19

While this isn't how I figured it would work, the pricing is working out. Now I would just need to hide the table and the per unit price. Only the end price is really necessary.

If you have any other suggestions let me know.

Re: Quantity discount question

You appear to have 2 set up for quantity 1 so that looks like something is not configured right ...

What settings are you using now in the Product Price Manager for this product?
