can't install zen cart -- please help

I can't get past the system setup. It keeps telling me that my physical path is incorrect but I have them loaded in my website root file and it is actually putting the correct path in the form for me so why oh why does it not accept that path?

Start over.

Upload the Zencart files to the root of your server, and then point your browser to https://www.yoursite.com and follow the instructions.

The default paths will work for now. Don't overthink this stuff.

I still can't figure it out.
Here is my physical path.
/usr/local/apache2/htdocs/catalog
does it need to be somewhere else? All the examples I have found mention this path or something close to it.
