Users creating account get 404 page instead of create_account_success

Hi folks,

Recently a problem cropped up in my 1.3.7 ZC that I can't seem to track down.

When a user fills in the required information to create an account and clicks submit, he gets a 404 error page instead of create_account_success. I can manually enter the correct URL for the page and it will open.

When the error occurs after submission, the following is in the URL after the domain:

index.php?main_page=index.php?main_page=shopping_cart

Yes, index.php?main_page=index.php? is in there twice.

I can manually delete the extra "index.php?main_page=" and get the shopping cart.

Any ideas are appreciated.

When you say "recently" that means at one time things were working fine. The question to ask yourself is;

"What changes happened just before this problem started".

Since "recently" is a relative term, perhaps I should have mentioned that I inherited this highly customized site and am trying to fix it. The people who did the customizing are unreachable, and as far as the owner of the site knows, everything was working previously. But I suspect that it wasn't. I also believe that because several other people have had admin access to the ZC, and FTP access to the site, many things have been changed between that time and now. I spend a lot of time reverse-engineering and cataloging the changes as I discover them.

So, to answer your question of 'What changes happened just before this problem started", I would have to say, "I have no idea. I wasn't here."

So let me rephrase my original question. Does anyone have an idea how this problem could be occurring and where the double index.php?main_page= could be coming from?
