Allow certain pages to be viewed while store down for maintainance?

Is there any way to override the down-for-maintainance redirect on a specific page? I built several custom pages (such as a news page, and an index page for my site) into the zencart as new page modules, and I'd like, if possible, to allow viewers to still reach the index page and be able to read the news while my site is down for maintainance. Is there a code/tag/override I can use for these modules/templates?

Re: Allow certain pages to be viewed while store down for maintainance?

Hi,

I’m new to Zen Cart only a few days now so I’m not sure about things yet.

But I notice in the Down for Maintenance options is the list below.

It may be worth checking what each one does.

Title Value Action
Down for Maintenance: ON/OFF false
Down for Maintenance: filename down_for_maintenance
Down for Maintenance: Hide Header false
Down for Maintenance: Hide Column Left false
Down for Maintenance: Hide Column Right false
Down for Maintenance: Hide Footer false
Down for Maintenance: Hide Prices false
Down For Maintenance (exclude this IP-Address) your IP (ADMIN)
NOTICE PUBLIC Before going Down for Maintenance: ON/OFF false
Date and hours for notice before maintenance 15/05/2003 2-3 PM
Display when webmaster has enabled maintenance false
Display website maintenance period false
Website maintenance period 2h00
Down for Maintenance: Hide Column Left
Please make any necessary changes

Down for Maintenance: Hide Column Left
Down for Maintenance: Hide Column Left
(true=hide false=show)

As I said I’m new but hope this helps some.

Re: Allow certain pages to be viewed while store down for maintainance?

Thanks, but I am aware of the options list, as that is the place from where you must actually set the site down for maintainance. For what I am asking, my guess is that I'd have to do some file editing. Just not sure what edits to me, or if there is a way to do it at all.

Re: Allow certain pages to be viewed while store down for maintainance?

In your custom coding, apply the same logic that the other options have to the links and pages you want to be displayed while you are down for maintenance.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Re: Allow certain pages to be viewed while store down for maintainance?

If you add the page filename to the array in init_customer_auth.php this should allow you to exclude certain pages from maintenance mode.

For example, I wanted to allow newsletter signups when my site was in maintenance mode. So, I changed the following code on line 61 of init_customer_auth.php.

Before:

case ((DOWN_FOR_MAINTENANCE == 'true') && !in_array($_GET['main_page'], array(FILENAME_LOGOFF, FILENAME_PRIVACY, FILENAME_CONTACT_US, FILENAME_CONDITIONS, FILENAME_SHIPPING))):

After:

case ((DOWN_FOR_MAINTENANCE == 'true') && !in_array($_GET['main_page'], array(FILENAME_LOGOFF, FILENAME_PRIVACY, FILENAME_CONTACT_US, FILENAME_CONDITIONS, FILENAME_SHIPPING, FILENAME_SUBSCRIBE, FILENAME_SUBSCRIBE_CONFIRM))):
