Is it possible to change image size in EZPopulate

What I mean is I have my image files with "Large.jpg" and Thumbnail.jpeg"

I have made Easy populate point to Large.jpg so that Zen Cart can then resize my images as needed. This looks great but the size of my pages are huge as the large images are over 100k. So even when the page is displaying small (re-sized large) images, the file size of the page is huge.

If I made Easy populate to point to the thumbnails instead then the "click here to view larger image"(just before checkout) wouldnt have the desired affect.

We would only get a small image popup as far as Im aware.

Is there a way to get round this?

I had left some modified changes to sizes in admin yesterday and hadnt realized I missed changing these back, they all looked like standard sizes to me on the page.

So now I realize admin WILL change the file sizes of images it displays.

Can anyone tell me how to install ezpopulate? Sorry for my ignorance, but I downloaded in to my computer. I can not open it up. I don't know where to put it, etc.
