How to deal with shipping costs using a drop shipper?

New here to the shipping.

I am starting a bookstore and using a drop shipper. They are going to charge me shipping plus $2 fee for handling. After looking at my competition (mostly brick/motor), I noticed they either offer free shipping or roughly $40 and over free shipping on an order. I am guessing they must roll it up in the price. But, seems like not much if any profit at all.

Does anyone have advice on best way to handle shipping with drop shipper?
