Duplicate description and duplicate subcategory etc

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area...but I don't know where else to put it. Can't find another place to post.

I am live on the net and can't get four things out of my pages. I'm using the latest version of Zen cart.

1. Almost all my description of products are doubled:(
   I've read everywhere about it and all I find info about is when they use two languages. I don't have that.

2. My subcategory listings are double as well when I take out the larger image.

3. My list of attributes refuse to go horizontal (I have quite a long list) I have attribute images per row 2
   and am using image style 3 with radio buttons. I have tried every combination to get it to work.

4. I can't get my larger image to pop up. I installed image handler and found it didn't work after that this wouldn't work. I am not using it

What is happening is you are using FireFox ... mystic aren't I?

And some of your Categories have images and some do not ... truely psychic eh?

Those without images are showing the
Name of the Category
Alt Tag for the (missing) image of the Category (which is the same as the Name of the Category)

So ... it looks like you have doubles on somethings ... scary, ain't I? :smartalec:

I am using firefox but it does the same in Internet Explorer.
Where do I remove the alt tag?

I read everything you sent on all the pages but they don't answer my questions. I might have to delete the larger pictures if I can't get them to work.

Where can I manually change my attributes because they won't go vertically?

It's in the description of the product that is duplicated that really bothers me. It looks very unprofessional.

Any other suggestions...please. I appreciate it.

In addition to the alt tags showing duplicate names, you appear to have either an add-on or something in the listing file showing the description in the middle and below the row of the product ...

There is a section in the listing where you can alter the display as well as an add-on that changes this ...

Do you know if you are using any add-ons?

If you switch to Classic Template, do you see one or two descriptions?

I've taken the larger picture off completely, thanks. So that solves that.

I did switch to the classic and there is only one description.
My attributes are still in one big long line though.

I have as add ons...testimonial manager, bellabook, wish list (which doesn't work, recently viewed items, and I had image handler.

Now what...what is the best step to take?

As this is a template issue, which you tested by switching to Classic and having the problem correct itself, you would really need to look at your templates and override files to see what the problem is ...

OK.
When I was in the classic, the double product problem was gone.
But the "larger image" did not get fixed. Neither did the attribute being in a long list get fixed.

What are your thoughts? I am at a loss.

I would compare files with something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com to see if you can see where the differences are in the default and override files ...

Which files am I to compare....so I don't have to waste time?
Just the ones is "my" folder?

If you used a Clean download of Zen Cart v1.3.8 in one directory ... and your site in another directory ... you can just let the program find all the differences for you ...

Well after a couple of hours (what fun) of checking and then over riding some and checking etc I got my larger pics to open.
The rest are the same. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to check "my overrides) and see what I can come up with.

Could my problem be in the includes/modules/Fran/product listing?

Well I've looked and changed and deleted leftovers from a couple of modules that weren't working and everything that I could
that didn't send my pages weird.

So I'm still stuck with the duplicate subdirectory and my long list of attributes and my subcategory doubles.

Can you give me a hint as to what files I can play around with?

I've compared "My" files with the others and nothing seems to be out of place. Value changes that kind of thing.

I've looked in each and compared each of the tpl files. nothing there.

I really don't want to start from scratch again.

I've noticed that category per row doesn't work either.
Can someone have a suggestion the this and my attributes all in a row too. It does no good to try to make changes through admin.
I don't know why.

If this is caused by your templates and overrides and they do not have the code in them to control things from the Admin, then the settings will have no affect ...

The problem will be in one of your template and override files ...

Most like, if you look in the:
/includes/modules/your_template_dir

there will be an override for the:
product_listing.php

Which will have the products_description display defined in there ...

You appear to have it defined twice ...

The only thing left is my long list of attributes. Where would I
change that?

What I did to fix the doubles is I eliminated my /includes/modules/your_template/product_listing.php and they have left the building!

Don't know if that is wise or not...but right now it feels good.

So what about my attributes?:unsure:

I just checked the new includes/modules/attributes.php with the one in my store and they are the exact same. Still looking.

Click on my product image and it takes you to the product page where I have a list of vinyl colors I offer and they won't go in two or three rows...just that big long thing. I have it already set to be in two rows...I've tried 3 & 4 & 5 just to see what would happen but
they just sit there!
