How to add form field to the shopper registration page?

Hi all,

I'm trying to add a form field (a select field) to my registration form so that users can tell me how they found the site. What files do I need to edit to add this? Is there a tutorial anywhere (Google hasn't turned anything up).

Adding a field to the Create Account page is more difficult than you'd think. Luckily, there's a mod here:

I just installed this for a client and it works beautifully...you just have to make sure that any other mods that coded the tpl_modules_create_account.php, don't get deleted....winmerge(i hope that is what it is called) use it to compare the files for the added coding.

I only had to add the code from this mod to that file since I also have the stay logged in mod installed there...even though it is in my template folder.

go there and click the log in button to get both the create page and log in page...located at the bottom of the page.
