Need to update system e-mails and can't find Developer Toolkit

Hi all,

I have a weird problem where the Developer Tool Kit does not show up for me within the TOOLS dropdown. Now I have some edits to the e-mails the system sends out when a new account is created or an order placed (etc.). Can anyone suggest the easiest way to do this without the Developer Tool Kit? Or, if there is a way to add the developer tool kit - that would be great as well.

Thanks,
-Jack

Did you build your site or was it installed by someone else?

That's what is weird. I took the site over from another developer but moved it to a new server. I bascially ran a fresh install and then updated the database. I probably then copied over the old code and maybe skipped the install of the Developer Tool Kit. Problem now is I can't find where in the admin directory the developer tool kit would even be residing. So I am obviously unable to verify if the system files are there simply because I don't know where or what to look for.

Again - any help greatly appreciated!!

A good directory/file comparison tool would be a good idea. Compare the whole admin directory to one from a clean download of the program from Source Forge. Also look to see if the "Admin Levels" add on is installed.

Re: Need to update system e-mails and can't find Developer Toolkit

Thanks for the reply but I tried this already and so far it was like finding a needle in a hay stack.

No one knows where this module resides? I spent an hour looking prior to posting here. I would be shocked if someone couldn't answer this one for me.

Again - any help appreciated...

Re: Need to update system e-mails and can't find Developer Toolkit

The HTML email templates are located in /email

There's a tutorial here that might have some info:

https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=113

I believe the text emails are created in the files for whatever process they refer to (ex. create_account.php for the welcome email).

Since the Developers Tool Kit isn't installed separately, and there are no overrides in Admin, I'd just re-upload the /admin directory from a fresh zip file and overwrite what's there.
