Change the width of mainWrapper in your stylesheet.

Turn off the right hand column in your admin - Admin> Configuration> Layout Settings

i tried that , it just widen the whole page

I cannot get the content area to match my header size. I have changed the size on #mainWrapper AND turned off the right box.

Any suggestions?

Your header is 933pixels and the main wrapper is 750 - it is just doing what it is supposed to - make your mainwrapper the same width as the header.
