Move Category Image to Header?

Hi! I'm looking for a way to move the Category Image from the center column to the header area above the columns. Does anyone have suggestions as to how this can be accomplished? I tried moving the PHP code from one template to another, but it was no longer able to find the correct image, and I'm not sure why. I can provide a URL if you need it for an example.
