How can I display 'Units in Stock' in the Cart

I have searched the posts but everyone seems to want to remove the 'Units in stock'...I want to go the other way and even display them in the cart.

I have the "units in stock" showing on my product pages and I have set checkout so that a customer cannot checkout if they have ordered more units than I have.

If a customer has ordered to many of an item an error message displays in the cart requesting them to change the quantity ordered but it does't tell them how many are in stock. To find this out they need to go back to the product page.

Is it possible to add the "Units in Stock" in the cart so the customer can update their cart without returning to the product page?

A quick way is to use the function in the functions_lookups.php for:
zen_get_products_stock

and you can then display the quantity of a Product anywhere that you need it ...
