Sporatic -- 200 Error v.1.3.8a

Hello!

I get a 200 error sporatically on my website. It isn't at any one page. I have enable_error_logging.php turned on and it doesn't log any errors.

I use godaddy for hosting and for an add-on, turned on php5. The add-on is independent of zen-cart and works with only the database.

The error logs show only this error:

[Sat Sep 13 07:03:26 2008] [error] [client x.x.x.x] (104)Connection reset by peer: FastCGI: comm with server "/path_to_root_domain_directory_not_where_zen_cart_is_installed/html-x-httpd-php5" aborted: read failed

Godaddy says, "This line means that one of your files could not be read. "

Is this true? If so, how can I find out which one it can't read? The only thing I did to show this error this morning is use a bookmark to go to my admin login page; that's it! Other times it happens randomly when I'm browsing through items... or checking out... or in admin going to another page... totally random!

Look forward to getting this resolved!

Thanks in advance,

Jake

Tell GoDaddy support they need to give you more information ... or fix their server configuration.

Re: Sporatic -- 200 Error v.1.3.8a

GoDaddy says...

This error is being generated because the script is unable to locate a file. You will need to fix the coding to use the proper paths to the files, or upload the files to the path specified by the code. Unfortunately we do not provide technical support with third-party scripting issues, and will be unable to assist you in this process.

All I've done is created overrides by copying the original files into a sub-directory, "2008" in this case, and then edited those files.

Any suggestions? I'm getting orders that aren't being returned to the site via PayPal IPN, so now I have an order in my recover cart sales mod that PayPal says are paid, but don't have an invoice for. What a headache! Could these problems be caused by the switch from php4 to php5?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Okay, so is that the only suggestion then? Last time I moved from one host to another, the cart was down for 3 weeks. Who would you recommend that isn't $20+ a month for hosting? Hosting companies charge way too much for what little they offer. :(

If GoDaddy were more reliable and didn't have a tech support department whose primary goal is meeting their quota for ended calls (note I didn't say "resolved" calls), but instead actually ran good hosting and give even moderately reasonable support, we wouldn't be recommending the change in hosting.

You can find hosting suggestions via the "Certified Hosts" link at the top of this page.
