Stop Download Section appearing as New Product

Hi,

i Have a section setup for people to download free trials of software we sell, but i would like it to not show as a recently added product.. without stopping all other products .. how do i stop this?

Set up Category, then set up product within that category,
then disable category...product will still be available

Then you have not configured correctly because method
does work...

PLEASE backup the original file before trying this, I have tested it on my own store and so far after several refreshes cannot see the one free product I had there that I don't want to show there lol

Open includes/modules/new_products.php

On lines 26 and 43 where you see this line:

                           where p.products_id = pd.products_id
```Add this line underneath both:

                         and p.products_price > 0

If you also want to stop them showing on the new products listing page it would be a similar edit....but that one is a core file edit in includes/modules/pages/products_new/header_php.php, no override, so try this first and see if it works :)

You could just change the date for the products_date_added to be older than what you have defined the New Products date to ...

If all of these products are using the same master_categories_id you could run a simple SQL in the Tools ... Install SQL Patches ...

UPDATE products SET products_date_added =  '2008-02-21 06:08:17' WHERE master_categories_id = XX;

where XX is the master_categories_id for these products ... :smile:
