Categories and subcategories not displaying properly

I'm making a new site and trying to fix this problem. Check out:

You'll notice that the categories only display 2 wide, even though I have it set to 3 in the admin. If I set it to 2 wide, it goes to 1 wide.... I'm not sure what's going on.

And if you click on chevy / gmc in the trucks category, it does it there as well.

I've played with the page width in the css, the subcategory image size, the side boxes size... nothing will fix this.

Not a good idea to start changing several things unless you remember which ones to reset.

My experience has been that folks aren't happy until they make the columns equal 100%. It's better to make each 33% and make sure you don't add padding or borders.

Rule of thumb... Two showing instead of three - - width adds up to 100+.

Seems it's always been like this. Only thing I changed is the page width in the stylesheet, and the left column box to 160px.
