Adding search to a web page

Hi,

I want to add a search box to my web page to search the zencart database.

My main website is normal html. Is there a way of putting the search box on the site outside of the zencart portion.

Many thanks
Kevin

a simple way would be to use a form and use the zencart search;

<div>
  <h3>Search</h3>
  <div id="searchContent">
    <form name="quick_find" action="http://yoursite.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result" method="get">
      <input name="main_page" value="advanced_search_result" type="hidden" />
      <input name="search_in_description" value="1" type="hidden" />
      <input name="keyword" size="14" maxlength="100" type="text" />
      <br />
      <input value="Search " style="width: 80px;" type="submit" />
    </form>
  </div>
</div>

put this into your html to get an instant seach in your shop. (change the form action url)

Hey Steve,

Thanks for that! :smile:
