Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

Hello
Iam trying to use the Attributes for Shipping and other options for my products For example We offer shipping to the US and Canada. Now the problem is If I select The Us Shipping in the attribute the price in the shopping cart is calculated OK. If I select the ship to Canada Option and you add to cart it will say US shipping and the price is calculated as if it was shipped to the US.
The same thing applies to the other attributes The First option that you select will be the only thing listed in the shopping cart.

Here is a link for a product page so you can test it yourself:
http://www.coolcarpartsonline.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=190_216&products_id=1523

Can someone answer me Please!!!!

Is it possible to make the attribute depend on the previous selection??????

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

You may wish to change your approach ...

You are allowing the customer to decide the price by using attributes ...

You could use the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module instead and set the products_weight to 1 ...

Clone the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module and set up a Zone for the US and a Zone for Canada ...

On one copy set up that the unit rate is 10.00 ... for the US ...

On the other copy setup that the unit rate is 20.00 ... for Canada ...

Now when the person checks out with a Canada shipping it will use the one with the Zone for Canada and the rate of 20.00 per unit ... then the other will be Zoned for the US with the rate of 10.00 per unit ...

NOTE: to use this you need to set the Maximum Weight much higher as the products_weight is now used in a different manner ...

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

That is understandable.
BUT If you add the attribute for example the type on my site. Each type has a different price which means each attribute has a different price. So If you select the the second finish which has a different price and added it to the zen cart shopping cart it will calculated the cost based on the first option. that applies to the third option and so for. Please test that on the live site.

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

Change the calculation ...

Put the US price in as the products_weight ...

Set the first Per Unit rate to 1 and the second Per Unit rate module to 2 ...

All your products appear to be a 2 to 1 ratio from US and Canada ...

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

Can you disregard the shipping option for a minute.

I installed Zen cart attribute on a different site, And if you have 3 different attributes with 3 different prices, When you add an attribute that attribute price will be added to the item price and the name of the attribute will show in the Shopping cart. On this site if you add the second, third or any attribute The price in the shopping cart will be display the first option. Meaning something is wrong in the Attribute mod somewhere. I was wondering if anyone knows where or have an idea where I should look for the problem.

Please Disregard the Shipping option and try to add the product with choosing the different Type to see what iam talking about and how no mater what the type is it will only calculate the price based on the first option on the list.

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

Could you switch to the Classic Template to see if things work on this product?

Have you any add-ons that you have added?

Has this ever worked for you?

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

It does work on classic template I tried that yesterday and it worked. What other mod can affect this function????

I have another question regarding your suggestion of cloning the perunitweight module for shipping... I searched the forums and found this post on how to do it. "http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103948&highlight=Unit+perweightunit" Now I followed through this post and changed the perweightunit to perweightunitzone1 and zone 2 Everywhere that I found it in both locations. BUT When I go into the admin panel to install these mods I get this message > 1062 Duplicate entry 'MODULE_SHIPPING_PERWEIGHTUNIT_STATUS' for key 2

in:
[insert into configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, set_function, date_added) values ('Enable Per Weight Unit Shipping', 'MODULE_SHIPPING_PERWEIGHTUNIT_STATUS', 'True', 'Do you want to offer per unit rate shipping?

Product Quantity * Units (products_weight) * Cost per Unit', '6', '0', 'zen_cfg_select_option(array('True', 'False'), ', now())]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

Sounds like you missed a replace ...

perunitweight = perweightunitzone1
PERWEIGHTUNIT = PERWEIGHTUNITZONE1

perunitweight = perweightunitzone2
PERWEIGHTUNIT = PERWEIGHTUNITZONE2

Be sure to do both the code and lanaguage files ...

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

I found that and fixed it.
But the question to you is how am i suppose to conigure the shipping for different items.
As I told you before each item have a different shipping price and shipping to canada is twice as much as the US shipping.
I did added 10lb weight for one item to see how much the shipping would be but it was not $10 it was $14 US Shipping and If I add an item without a weight I get $4 US shipping. If i change the Country to Canada it would be the same charge as the US shipping. Here is the item that I added the weight to.

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

First, try setting the Tare Weight to 0:0 and the Maximum to 5000 as your products_weight is now dollars ...

Then, set the Product Weight to: 10

Set the US module to unit 1 ...

Set the Canada module to unit 2 ...

See if it doesn't work better now ...

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

Ok I got rid of the 4 and the shipping is set by weight for the US.
and defined the zones so it works. BUT Can I display the shipping charges in the shipping estimator area so When a customer clicks on can view the shipping such as US Shipping $10 Canadian Shipping $20 instead of having to use the radio button to search for their country.
You know I only ship to US and Canada so I want the totals for these 2 countries to be displayed in the shipping estimator table.

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

You have Zones set, so only the one for the proper Zone shows either where a guest selects a choice or when the customer is logged in, it will display the right one if they are from one of the defined Zones ...

You would have to customize the code to default to one or the other ...

If you never ever ever plan to ship or take payments from anywhere, including Tiny Tim's Grandma in the UK ... other than the US and Canada then you could remove the other countries ...

However, you would want to be careful in how you do this and backup everything so that you can rebuild it later when you change your mind ...

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

I guess I will leave it the way it is for now. I did change the language files to be more user friendly.

But I have a Final question to you. I Changed the "weight" word in the Shipping Estimator and the Shopping Cart to Say "Shipping" and added a $ sign infront of the total for shipping but the problem is the "lbs" will show up after the total since it is originally configured to display weight not price Can you tell me how to get rid of the "lbs" Iam assuming there is a code that is calling for it to show after the weight.

Oh by the way thank you for this MOD It is way better than the Attributes and is way more professional. I did run a store wide upgrade to change the weight to represent the shipping for all my store.

Re: Price By Attribute is not Functioning corectly

That is in the language files ...

A search in the Developers Tool Kit for the text you want to find would locate all of this for you ...
