New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE

Hey all. Just got a new SSL cert and all seems well in Safari, Netscape & Firefox. But in IE I've been getting the the security prompt about displaying secure and nonsecure items.

I've followed this...
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=150

and as far as I can tell I'm using relative paths for all my links.

Also, have read a bunch of different forums on the issue, but can't seem to identify why that's happening.

Would anyone mind letting me know if they get the secure / nonsecure prompt in IE?

https://www.beamerfilms.com/catalog/login

If so, anything stand out as incorrect?

Thanks!

Cris

May have something to do with the mouseover image swapping...

Re: New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE

You have this in the source code and a few others that are similar....it points to a local pc which is generally unreachable, not a web url:

<csscriptdict import>

    <script type="text/javascript" src="file:///Users/criscunningham/Library/Preferences/Adobe/GoLive/Settings7/JScripts/GlobalScripts/CSScriptLib.js"></script>

</csscriptdict>
```And my Firefox error console gives three of these type messages:
Security Error: Content at https://www.beamerfilms.com/catalog/login may not load or link to file:///Users/criscunningham/Library/Preferences/Adobe/GoLive/Settings7/JScripts/GlobalScripts/CSScriptLib.js.
Without getting in to any code, one thing you can try is shutting off the banners in the shopping cart.
The banners are typically not secure, where as the shopping cart fields are secure, hence the the warning.
It's worth a shot anyway... :smile:
Good luck
That did the trick!!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!
One more thought. Can I just SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS how much I LOVE my Zen-Cart store?!!!!
I had my doubts, initually (I'm pretty much not savvy at code and such), but ANY and ALL errors I've had thus far have been solved by this community.
I'm fortunate! So all you zen-cart guru's, thanks from a big ol' dummy like me!
I'm getting this error in Internet Explorer. Perhaps someone can take a look and tell me what's going on?
If it's the website listed in your profile, look to Google as these non-ssl image links are the cause of your errors I believe :D
Re: New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE
Hi, ZenCart Gurus,
I have the same warning on IE when someone click on the Login button, or go to checkout.
On Firefox the warning is "Contains Unauthenticated Content".
I could not figure out what causes these warning, because this is our second website with ZenCart and the first one did not have this problem.
Please someone check our website and help me eliminate the warnings.
Here is the website: http://www.embroideryportraits.com/Gifts/
Re: New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE
I am having the ssl unauthenticated issue on my site. https://www.tks-atl.com. It is showing <base href="http:
and when I go into the ssl warning I show the media is getting the http:\ instead of https:\
I have verified that the settings are correct for ssl and that I do not have any absolute paths in my images.
Any help is greatly appreciated as I am not finding the issue.
I have SSL security issues on my log in page. I just discovered this on your post. Can anyone check what causes this error?
You have issues to start with that are not just with the submit ...
I believe your google stuff is setup incorrectly and throwing the secure errors ... I get them just going to any secure page ... :blink:
Re: New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE
Hi,
I have tried everything I can think of to try and isolate the cause of the secure / non-secure items problem with my site when using IE 6, 7, or 8.
So far have tried disabling header graphic, the menu, the entire right hand side bar, the footer, and the background graphic. Even when all disabled at the same the the error still occurs! :(
I have tried using Fidler to see if I can spot calls to http items.
I have checked css code for hard coded http.
Still havnt managed to come up with a solution to this.
If anyone has any ideas as to what might be the cause of this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Re: New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE
Thanks,
I traced that file to a style sheet widget07.css which is not loaded by me, but is loaded by the "add this" widget.
I have referred this problem to the add this forum.
For future reference, how did you manage to locate the offending file (http://s7.addthis.com/static/t00/x00.gif) ?
Thanks
Tony
Re: New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE
I loaded the stylesheets via FireFox View CSS and searched on URL and http to see if I could find something that was hardcoded and came up with that one ...
So, when on a secure page you were calling something non-secure which would make that error happen ...
One test I try to maintain is on IE I never let it load non-secure things and that too helps locate secure issues ...
Re: New SSL -- Getting Secure and Nonsecure items error in IE
Thanks again,
I have now tried removing the "add this" tool bar altogether which has removed the offending file you described above However I still get the secure non secure error!
I tried what you suggested using firefox and have scanned all css and html source for any hard coded http calls but now I cant find any!
Is it is only http calls that load an object that cause this error? Surly hyperlinks to another internal or external page wont cause this?
Could a javascript be trying to load something external without my realising perhaps?
If you have any other tips on how to solve this problem that would be great!
Tony
