Vacation Mode - Turn Off Store

Hi,
We're taking a much-needed week long vacation before the holiday season starts - I'm trying to find an easy way to "disable" the store completely - with perhaps a splash page explaining that we'll be closed to all orders/shipping this week.

Couldn't find an on/off switch - store status doesn't have it...

Any suggestions? Surely there is a vacation mode, or way to turn off the store completely ... My search here and in add-ons didn't turn up anything.

There is maintenance mode and you can customize the text on that page....

That's in Configuration > Website Maintenance. Just set it to true to turn the store off. Note that customers can still use the contact form, but they are unable to browse products, or shop.

Try using Developer Tools to find the text... I know one word in there is "dust"... that should help you locate the page and language file you need to edit :)

You could also set your shop as a show case so you don't lose the search engines and people can browse but not shop ... :smile:

When a developer goes on holiday it would be useful to have a "Holiday mode" and turns off email-sending to that user's email addresses and allows them not to have a flooded inbox on return.

This mode could also display "(Holiday)" or a less intrusive icon after the user's name to show that they aren't around and able to respond.

Are you confusing 'developer' with 'store owner' as the two can be quite different.

Also, one can setup a Forwarder within their Hosting account for Zen Cart related eMail addresses.
