Search Button off center, looks weird

I cannot figure out how to get the search button text centered. I have the box and button centered and it looks nice, but the text in the search button looks weird and right aligned in both IE and Firefox. In IE 8 the site looks bizarre and things are out of place, but I am guessing that is an IE 8 issue.

Here is what the Search button looks like:

If it's your tea site we're talking about, it looks OK to me in IE7 and FF2.

Re: Search Button off center, looks weird

mine does the same thing, except it cuts off half the C and completely H so All I get is searc. I tried changing the text sizes and it didn't change the problem. I think I changed the button size somewhere in the sytlesheet.css but not 100% sure.

Re: Search Button off center, looks weird

on second thought.. I found the problem. Go to your tpl_search_header.php in: includes>templates>sideboxes (or your default sidebox directory....

look down to approximately line 19-22 estimated... for code:

(this.value == '') this.value = '' . HEADER_SEARCH_DEFAULT_TEXT . '';"') . ' <input type="submit" value="' . HEADER_SEARCH_BUTTON . '" style="width: 65px" />';

mine was set to 45 which wasn't large enough, so I chnaged it to 65. Works fine now... Good Luck.

Yep, that was the problem, it is bizarre that it never was a problem until the day I upgraded Firefox and IE. IE8 really messes a lot of things up that IE7 displays correctly. Thanks for the help!
