Turning store off

I'm installing zen cart for a business that is seasonal. The business only operates for a few months out of the year. I don't want to take the entire site down during the off months, so how can I disable the e-commerce functions but still allow users to browse products etc? I also want to have a message saying that the store is closed for the off-season. Thanks in advance.

You can set the store as a showcase only, and this is done in ADMIN>>>CONFIGURATION>>>MY STORE>>>STORE STATUS

When you invoke "showcase", you can modify your DEFINE MAIN PAGE to give an appropriate message...
