Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Has anyone experienced problem I described in "Comstock template" (sorry I don't know how to link to it) - while using IH zoom for small image, I cannot get additional images per item and when you hover over that image, the top of template drops down in order to display that image.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Is that it??!
I've just installed IH2 and everything seems to be working wonderfully! In fact, it went so well and so easily that I'm assuming I missed something.
Does IH2 automatically resize my existing images? I assumed I would have to do the grunt work of resizing. (NOT that I'm complaining! :P) I can see the medium images are in place on my site but am not sure if everything has actually been optimized or not.
Thanks for whatever help you can provide.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yes - that's it!
To check if it's working, just examine the properties of the sm and med product images and you'll see they're being drawn from the bmz_cache directory.
One thing you may find useful - the novelty of the images zooming up every time you touch them will soon wear off. Change the "hot spot" setting in admin>configuration>images so that it only enlarges when the mouse is placed on the crossinabox!
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
PS from now on, just upload what would have been your large image to the images directory (or the relevant subdirectory if you use them)

OMG! That is one Very impressive module! When Tim said in the documentation that it worked right out of the box, he wasn't kidding! I've actually been avoiding implementing this mod because I thought it was going to be a nightmare to install. :laugh: Mr. Kroeger, where ever you are, You Rock!
Ryk - I took your advice on the the image hot-spot, as well. Concerning uploading new images: Are you saying that I can continue to upload directly to
/public_html/shop/images/ as I did previously?
Thanks - Tim

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
One more question, if I may: Not everything meshed completely with IH2. My Scrolling Specials sidebox seemed to conflict. I just turned that mod off for the moment, as it isn't overly important. However, is this a common occurence and is there a fix?
Thanks again - Tim

Hi all! Were desperately seeking help for our store. We messed with the image config settings to make them bigger on the homepage, and now they are all jagged. Here's what I know:

The small images on the homepage (New Products) are set to 100x100 but when you right click and look at the src, they are named like /bmz_cache/a/a08d2cbbc0ab81fe6e891a20f50b0669.image.89x100.jpg

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Nice looking site - shame you've gone to extreme lengths to remove all references to ZenCart.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thanks Ryk - an unfortunate business decision made by the store owner, for sure. But, as the designer, I appreciate the complement.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I tried to read every post in this thread. Got alot of em but didn't see this one.
IH2 works fine. Have lightbox as well.
When I change the product info image size to a larger size than 150 x 120 the hovers go away on small images. I had doubled thier size.
Does this change need to be reflected somewhere else?

IH2 - Rename images automatically if they exist
Hi there, first of all congrats on IH2 module, this should have been a core since its a must for proper image handling.
I have aproblem with images, my customer who is going to use zen-cart is going to upload 1000s of images and i am 100% sure that he is going to upload images with the same file name. was wondering if there is a quick way to make ih2 or zen-cart rename a new image upload if there is an images with the same name. I have not dound this to be an IH feature and this is very helpfull, also someting else which can be done is to rename image filenames to hold the product name. this is going to be very good for search engines.
Anyway to cut the story short is there a way which i can set IH2 or zen-cart to rename a new image file name upload if there is an image with the same name?

Hello again,
We'd like to offer a small token of appreciation to anyone who can help us out with this problem. A $25 gift certificate to either our store (www.thetoyboat.com) or Amazon.com - whichever you prefer! As I said earlier, we're really desperate - our homepage is in shambles. And while Ryk was absolutely correct - we did remove the references to Zen Cart - please understand that it was a decision that was beyond the control of the people begging for help here. We are entirely grateful to this community and for the hard work and dedication of everyone who developed the software.
Help us Obi-Wan... you're our only hope...

First off, the very nature of electronic filing renders your question of renaming images upon upload moot. Two files with the same name CANNOT occupy the same folder at the same time. It simply is not possible. Anyone that has uploaded images or files has discovered this, as will your customer.
The only way I've ever been able to get around this is to have different image folders for different categories, or whatever. BUT, you have to make absolutely sure that the path to the image for the product or model number is correct for IH2 to pull the correct image (i.e.. images/folder1/picture.jpg, or, images/folder2/picture.jpg, picture.jpg is a different image with same name in 2 different folders)
That is where IH2's brilliance comes in...It will assign a special name to the different images files it "creates" as they are placed in IH2's cache folders.
Now, in order to really be able to try and help you, we need to know WHY the customer will be uploading different images with the same name, and if there is a particular pattern to this, or, different categories, or something different about why the use of multiple images with same name.
I know this didn't help much, it wasn't supposed to. My reply is designed to draw more info from you and hopefully draw the right answers from someone that knows more than me.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I forgot to mention, if your goal is to have the images on your home page all the EXACT same size, then you will have a problem. The only way to do that, even with Image Handler, is to insure that the ORIGIONAL, unedited images all have the same, or very very close to the same aspect ratio in the first place.
By this I mean, if you have one image that is perfectly square, 120 x 120, and another that is rectangular, 120 x 200, you cannot adjust one to the other without some distortion. The greater the difference in aspect ratio, the greater the distortion.
So, if you want clear, crisp images that are all perfectly the same size, they all have to have the same aspect ratio to begin with.

thanks about the answer, i think you did not quite understand my problem.
ok we are talking about a computer shop here, so the client is going to have for example 50s graphics cards from ATI. He is going to either scan images or get them from the internet. suppose that he adds a card named ati X800, and the image filename is x-800.jpg. he will have a lot other cards with the same gpu so even if its from another manufacturter he might atempt to try and use the same x-800.jpg filename. he wont be able to know if that file already exists, and zen cart only offers the option to over-write an image or not, which will have a side effect of having 2 diferent products with the same image if we overwrite. or it wont overwrite it and we will have a product with no-image or it will use the existing image (not sure how it behaves). What i will like to acomplish is when an image is uploaded and an image with the same filename exist is to rename the new image automatically by entering a number in front of the file name.
hope i am clear of what the problem is and what i am trying to achieve.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
The client will have to remane the images himself. As he scans them, and saves them, he will have to assign a unique name (perhaps use the date of the scan as part of the name) before either uploading the image via ftp, or through zencart.
There isn't any other way that I know of to do that, and as a computer store owner, he should already understand that. Zen Cart/IH2 has no way of doing that right now.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi wtashby,
I appreciate your help SO MUCH. I reset the images and then went to the IH2 admin and tried to delete the cache. But I got errors... ("Couldn't delete (insert filename here))... So I FTP'd to the site and deleted the cache that way. But for some reason, the images still look the same on the homepage. And if I refresh the directory in FTP, the cache is back.
So it seems like ZC or IH2 should be resizing the images and then basing the height and width attributes in the <img> tag on that. But it looks as though the <img> tag is just using a rigid 100x80 setting from the config.
I'm totally stumped! Any thoughts?
THANKS AGAIN!

Did you reset everything in your admin/configuration/images to the settings I posted earlier?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yep! I set it exactly as you mentioned. The images on the homepage are now 100x80 instead of 100x100. But what we were hoping for is that one dimension would be 100 and the other would resize to whatever made sense for scaling (e.g. 100x64 or 70x100). It was working like this until I messed it up...

Try this. It worked for me before:
Go to admin/tools/image handler 2
admin
then click Remove Image Handler from database and then the Delete button asking if you are sure.
Then click on Install Image Handler, click clear image cache,
Clear your browser cache and temp files, and see what happens. If that doesn't work, we may have to beg Merlin or Ajay for some help here:P

How about this, if you won't accept payment... we'll make a $25 donation to the Zen Cart project. Have any other ideas for us to try?

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but IH2 gives me error messages when I try to delete the image cache. But when I check via FTP, the files all have 777 permissions.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
What I've suggested is what has worked for me in the past, and I'm afraid is the extent of my "expertise" on IH2:blush: . I'm sure though that someone with more knowledge will respond soon. Keep your chin up. It will get fixed one way or another.:D
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thanks wtashby - I really appreciate you giving it a shot. It's kind of a weird issue. I thought IH2 would resize all images to whatever height/width we had in the images config page (in this case 100x80) and then fill in the rest of the space with a background color. But it looks like they aren't resizing. IH2 is resizing things to some small dimensions (maybe using EITHER 100 OR 80), but then the page is using 100x80 no matter what.

I am just curious, as I have some similar issues that need resolving.
Do you have the Google Froogle Feeder mod installed?
I have had very good luck with IH2, but just this week I added GFF and now have lost control of resizing some of my images (large popup on product page). I tried the same suggestions you just received and still have no control in the admin. I tried uploading a new image, after purging everything and reinstalling IH2 but still got the same results. But the sample images made in admin - Tools -Imagehandler- Manager show them to be of correct size, they are just not being called up for my large image properly.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi Justwade,
Sorry to hear you've got similar issues. We don't have GFF installed... But if you find anything let us know and we'll do the same!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I've searched through this thread for the word "permissions" and I've seen two people with similar problems but no solution.
I think this may be a hosting issue because I only have one client with the problem.
All images are working fine for Image Handler except the large versions of the additional images only.
The problem is that the permissions for additional images are being set to 600 when uploaded. When we CHMOD to 644, they show up fine.
The main product image is set to 777 on upload - I don't know why the additional images aren't the same.
We've checked with the web host, but they don't think the problem is a server setting. Any tips?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I am migrating my site to a new server. The current site is running ZC 1.3.5 with Image Handler 2 v3. I did a fresh install of ZC 1.3.7 on the new server and installed the Image Handler 2 v3 module.
To move all my products to the new server I used Easy Populate. Of course this does not import/export image data that was set up through IH2.
Are there any shortcut methods which I can use to import my IH2 installed images for my products after using Easy Populate to import product data?
I know I could migrate the entire database to the new server and do an upgrade rather than a fresh install of ZC 1.3.7 but I wanted to check first.
Thank you for your support,

Not quite sure what you mean by that. The image paths will have been copied, but you will have to move the image files themselves (from your images directory)

If you can FTP between servers, that's good. If your hosts control panel allows you to compress directories (and your new one allows you to decompress) then that would be the quickest way to move them; otherwise, download them to your hardrive and then back up to the new site.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello I've installed image handler but obviously something is wrong
When I hover over the pictures just the alternative text shows up and the hover could be anywhere on the page but on one of the pictures the large image shows up:cry:
I've tried every combination I could and nothing seems to solve it, I've tried FFox and IE and read through all 94 pages:sleepy: :sleepy: but can't find a solution.
Also another problem is this is appearing on my preview page
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/attach...3&d=1168528812
Do I have to do a complete install of IM2 or is there an easier solution.
Thanks in advance, I've spent alot of time trying to find a solution but I can't:schmoll:

What? Who's verified it?
As long as you get the latest IH2 version from the Downloads section and install correctly (or reinstall the files after an update) then all should be well - here are 2 1.3.7 sites with IH2 - one using the zoom, one not.

That was your mistake - the most recent version is the one in the Downloads section of this site.
I'm not sure whether anyone else has had this next problem... following a recent update on a cart from 1.3.0.2 to 1.3.7, the zoom image that popped up would sometimes be the large image size; uninstalling & reinstalling IH, and clearing the image cache from the IH admin had no effect. However, the solution was to simply delete the contents of bmz_cache from the server and allow IH to rebuild.

just install IH2 on ZC1.3.7
override some files (got backup) and used the default template.
when goto tools->IMAGE HANDLER-> Install Image Handler
got the error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: install_image_handler() in /home/content*****/html/admin/image_handler.php on line 171
check for files - overrided as needed.
check for GD lib - it's fine (2+)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Has anyone seen or heard of a way to get the large image to popup on the product page on mouseover as with the thumbnails, rather than the click?
Does anyone know why there is this 1/2 second delay before the click actually opens the full size image?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Just installed IH 2.
I uploaded a category header image that is 550px wide (which is exactly how I want it to display on the page). But for some reason, IH 2 has resized it to 73px wide. Why is this? I looked through all of my image settings in admin, and nowhere is there a 73px value.
Here's the page:

Ok so I downladed the Zen Cart site version wich seems to include some bug fix, but that's not enough.
I've installed this version overwriting every files, uninstalling the other one from the database and reinstalling the new one.
I tried to upload an image file and I finally found that the uploaded image files get authorization 600. I verified the including folder but IH2 doesn't care about the folder authorization in this case, all uploaded images are 600. result is that the image cannot be displayed.
Manually changing this to 755 is not enough, the image is shown, but if I upload a second image for the same product, only the first one is shown as if I did it from the classical product update interface.
Even if the IH setup says so, I get no zoom +, no watermark and of course no additionnal image.
If someone sees where is my porblem....

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just installed IH2 on my company's online store. Please check it out at
http://store.gkmachine.com
I love this add-on. I'm just having a small problem. My category images (above product info) and the manufacturer images (on the right side) are completely distorted. Can someone suggest a way to fix this?
Here is a good sample page showing how it's all screwed up:
http://store.gkmachine.com/index.php...roducts_id=760
I like the additional images, it's just the two image on top and the manufacturer image to the right are all distorted.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to email me if necessary.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
@Fastserv
I struggled with this for half a day and that's all it took!?!? Everything looks great now :D
I couldn't get the category image figured out, so I just had to disable it. Do you know how I can make it half the size of the product info image? If I change "Category Icon Image Width/Height" to anything less than 100x80, it just gets all distorted. IH2 scales up the image to fit into a 100x80 box. I would rather have IH2 fit it onto a 100x80 canvas like the extra images below.
Any tips?
Thanks so much for your help so far!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi, thanks for this great contribution. I just installed Image Handler 2 and it's great, but i do have one question:
How do I move the additional images up in the product into page so that they appear before the attributes?
If this has already been addressed elsewhere in the thread, I would appreciate it if someone could point me to the right place. I've tried searching both this thread and the old one but maybe I've missed it.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Oops, sorry. I just figured out the solution to my question. In case anyone else was wondering the same thing though, the file to edit is tpl_product_info_display.php in your template folder.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
There seems to be a misunderstanding for some people so let me try to clear it up...
Image Handler works ONLY on product images... not category images, not header images and not banners. Problems with anything other than product images are most unlikely to be anything whatsoever to do with IH.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi guys and gals,
I've got Image Handler 2 installed and it's not resizing the images (small, medium and large appear with the same dimensions). I can also see this in the preview section as all sample images are the same.
Now, I have an exact backup of the whole site running on my machine and IH seems to work fine, which made me suspect that the GD libraries aren't installed properly on the live server, maybe.
Upon raising a support ticket I'm assure by the hosting company the GD libs are installed (gd-2.0.28) and compiled into PHP (php-gd-4.3.9).
So I'm at a loss... I still suspect the problem is related with GD libraries but I'm told all's as it should be...
Any body come across this sort of thing? Any tips would be mighty useful!
Thanks
Mario

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
It just occurred to me that the problem above might be due to our live server running with PHP Safe Mode = On!
I've asked for it to be switched off just in case...
Any thoughts on this?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Not sure whether it'll help or not, but I've found that sometimes going to IH admin, clearing the cache and uninstalling/reinstalling IH there (along with FTP emptying of bmz_cache) will do the trick.
Don't know about the safe mode - but do report back.

I've made progress in that I reset the permissions of the bmz_cache and image folders and IH does now resize the images... I'm guessing that the main problem was that IH just couldn't write to one (or both) of those folders.
BUT!
Whereas on my test site, a wide image is shown properly (the remaining regions above and below the actual image are rendered into the file with the appropriate colour specified in the configuration section, as I understand it...), it's not quite working on the live site!
The image is vertically stretched... the rendered file doesn't have the extra bits filed in, resulting still in a wide file that gets distorted when appearing in the pre-defined image areas.
Why is IH not filling in the blank bits? Maybe a further permissions issue...? Please help!
P.S.: Regarding safe mode, i'm still waiting to hear from the hosting company... in the meantime, i tried setting my own dev server to safe mode and it all seems to work fine, so I'm at a loss

My hosting company have today disabled PHP Safe Mode on the account and all is fine!
So it looks like, at least in my case, that IH2 doesn't play nice with safe mode enabled.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have posted a message some time ago on a problem I encountered with IH2 here but didn't get any response hence I am posting my latest finding here, hopefully I can get some help here.
I found that when I utilize IH2 to add new image files, the "Owner" is set to "Nobody" and subsequently when I try to ftp these files, I wld get a server error stating "Insufficient privileges to perform the operation."
My question is, is it possible to configure IH2 such that images it creates inherit the default ownership? TIA
PS, my GD support is enabled, safe mode is off (Local and Master value)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello Fellow Zenners, Merchants and Purveyors,
IH2 is a good thing, and I would like to ask a question, or two, if I may.
Yes..., thanks, here I go.
1. When on "the" product page, can we get IH2 to handle poping up the largest image on file with a mouseover as it does with the thumbs?
The click is slow and tedious.
2. Does anyone know if IH can dynamically resize the large image to be even larger than the original without degredation, if at all?
Any info would be a good thing.
Thanks,
~Zin, loves good grapes!

That is not part of the functionality of IH2. There is a mod called Swap Images on Mouse Over, but I can't recall if it was compatible with IH2 or even if it was brought up to ZC1.3 standard.

Not as it is - and anyway, nothing will enlarge a jpg without degradation - jpgs are saved by "lossy compression" which means data is removed...and you can't put that back

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I downloaded this because I specifically want the mouseover effect - showing the larger images in the fancy hover when mousing over the thumbnails. I don't really need or want the ability to create thumbnails automatically etc.
I have it installed etc but when I click on a subcategory and the thumbnails for those products come up, nothing happens and there is no javascript happening in the HTML code for the page. Yes I have the javascript bits added into my custom template folder.
When I do "View Source" for the page, I have these in the head:
Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/templates/handmade/css/style_imagehover.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/templates/handmade/css/stylesheet.css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="includes/templates/handmade/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js"></script>
and yet there is no javascript being called in the thumbnail links.
Am I missing something here?
Any help much appreciated! :)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I had a same problem as yours like additional images weren't displayed. I did the mod below and the problem resolved. First thanks for that. But now in the category listing page or in the homepage --> featured products section onmouseover doesn't work. No pop-up display when the mouse over small images. Do you have a solution for this problem ?

Actually yesterday i found the problem but my coding knowladge is not good enough to fix buggy codes. If anyone helps me
about fixing i'll be grateful.
The problem arise from added backslashes in the bmz_image_handler.class.php line 702.
Code:
onmouseover="showtrail (' . "\'$products_image_zoom\',\'$alt\',$width,$height
If i remove this backslashes all pages work fine (shows popup images on mouse over) except product_info_display. When the
backslashes are removed product_info_display.php doesn't ever shows additional images.
The code detail of two different pages are below:
product_info_display.php --> The Code with Backslashes - Work Fine
Code:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><!--
document.write('<a
href="javascript:popupWindow(\'http://localhost/yeni3/index.php?main_page=popup_image_additional&pID=187&pic=0&pr
oducts_image_large_additional=images/outwear_01.jpg\')"><img

/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=54 (Category Listing Page) --> The Code with Backslashes - Doesn't Work Fine
Code:
<div class="dc main_cell_c1" ><br><a
href="http://localhost/yeni3/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=54&products_id=134"><img
src="bmz_cache/a/afe23b0e59406cf3795ed237bd9e331e.image.80x80.jpg" alt=" " title=" " width="80" height="80"
style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail('images//sss.jpg','Mens GORE-TEX Jacket',80,80, 110,110,this,0,0,80,80);"
onmouseout="hidetrail();" /></a></div>
Because of the document.write code in product_info_display.php there must be backslashes on the other side these backslashes must be removed in order to other listing pages work fine.
All the pages use the code in the bmz_image_handler.class.php (line: 702).
How can i fix the problem. I spent a full day to resolve but no success. Apologize for the long explanation.

Cannot add pics with Image Hanlder! Please help
I installed Image Handler 2 on Zen Card 1.3.7
Image Handler seems to work fine. Everything is good until i try to add more pictures in a product (via admin/tools/image handler 2)
I see categories, i select product, i am going to add pic.
When i select the images and click to save i get the message:
You don't have permission to access /admin/image_handler.php on this server.
Why i don't have permission? image_handler.php works fine until i save new pictures...

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Evening all,
Got a simple one for you all (most likely) -
I have recently had IH2 installed and need to make all my med images larger. I changed the size in admin-config-image-prod info to 500w but it looks like the IH2 is restricting the old (pre IH2 install) images to 200w. Cant work out how i change the IH2 med size. It has the option to change the large image?!
Please help. Thanks in advance!

@alex2310 - sorry, I'm out of ideas now.
@mattallam - I'm not 100% sure, but I think if there are images in the images/medium directory then Zen Cart will pick them up rather than the IH version.
If that's not it, try clearing the image cache from the IH admin

Something that basically says "if the page is product_info, use this code, else, use this code".

Hi There,
Ok, I've found that replacing the original code in classes/bmz_image_handler.php (~line 701):
Code:
return $parameters . 'style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(' . "'$products_image_zoom','$alt',$width,$height,$zoomwidth,$zoomheight,this," . $this->zoom['startx'].','.$this->zoom['starty'].','.$this->zoom['width'].','.$this->zoom['height'].');" onmouseout="hidetrail();" ';
with this:
Code:
if (!($_GET['main_page']==FILENAME_PRODUCT_INFO)) {
return $parameters . 'style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(' . "'$products_image_zoom','$alt',$width,$height,$zoomwidth,$zoomheight,this," . $this->zoom['startx'].','.$this->zoom['starty'].','.$this->zoom['width'].','.$this->zoom['height'].');" onmouseout="hidetrail();" ';
} else {
return $parameters . 'style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(' . "\'$products_image_zoom\',\'$alt\',$width,$height,$zoomwidth,$zoomheight,this," . $this->zoom['startx'].','.$this->zoom['starty'].','.$this->zoom['width'].','.$this->zoom['height'].');" onmouseout="hidetrail();" ';
}
Fixes the issue of additional images not displaying, while still allowing the hover effect on product listing pages.
What I'd also like to figure out how to do, is to prevent the hover on CATEGORY and SUBCATEGORY images (as I try to upload the smallest category image possible, since IH2 doesn't resize these - yet it still adds the mouseover to them).
Anyway, I tried a few things to get that to work, but haven't figured it out yet. Any ideas?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just installed IH2 on ZC 1.3.7. Here're my questions:
1) I uploaded more than one image to the same product, but only the top image is displayed in the product info. How do I display multiple images?
2) What does "Preview" do? All I see is a 3x3 table with 9 broken image links.
3) The documentation of IH2 states that the tool can be accessed via Admin>Catalog>Categories/Products, there should be an "i" icon between the copy and attributes icons, but I don't see it. The only way I can access this tool is Admin>Tool. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Henry

anyone fix the problem in IE and the page error?
the IH works perfectly in FireFox, but in IE it will give error and only work on pictures that are at top of screen, by scrolling down so the next set of pictures are at the top, then the IH works, Iv'v tried the fixes mentioned in the jscript_imagehover.js, but no luck :no:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have a weird issue with zooming that I'm not sure if it's been covered. I searched but there are so many pages, anyway...
In FireFox 2.0 and IE7 when the zoom kicks in, it moves the whole page down and places the image at the upper left corner of the page.
see here: lifesubstance.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3
Thanks,
Sammy
EDIT: Found the solution.
I'm using a custom template, so I needed to copy the stylesheet from /includes/templates/template_default/css into my custom template's css folder. So if you have this problem copy the CSS and Popup Additional folders into your custom template

Additional images zoom broken by apostrophe in product name
IH2 appears to have a bug, specifically in the way the zoom javascript breaks whenever the product name contains an apostrophe. See what I mean on the caboose playhouse page, compared to the barn style garage page. The javascript on the offending playhouse page throws an error in IE7: Expected ')' -- which seems to indicate one of the apostrophes in the alt/title tags isn't correctly escaped.
Worth noting that the small image on the index page zooms as it should, apostrophes and all. The difference appears to be that the index page doesn't invoke the javascript ...
HTML Code:
<a href="http://shedkitstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=74&products_id=179"><img src="bmz_cache/8/8075439ce70514ab472d999283da0e4f.image.120x82.jpg" alt="Casey's Caboose wooden playhouse kit" title=" Casey's Caboose wooden playhouse kit " width="120" height="82" style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail('bmz_cache/0/0338ac26f0930bbbbafc3097a2935893.image.285x196.jpg','Casey\'s Caboose wooden playhouse kit',120,82,285,196,this,0,0,120,82);" onmouseout="hidetrail();" /></a>
... while the product info page does:
HTML Code:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><!--
document.write('<a href="javascript:popupWindow(\'http://shedkitstore.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image_additional&pID=179&pic=0&products_image_large_additional=images/large/KidKaboose_01_LRG.jpg\')"><img src="bmz_cache/2/2717d35263012ddce8d95e31808086fc.image.120x82.jpg" alt="Casey\'s Caboose wooden playhouse kit" title=" Casey\'s Caboose wooden playhouse kit " width="120" height="82" style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(\'bmz_cache/b/bede9269e8716238777113eb9f9de673.image.285x196.jpg\',\'Casey\'s Caboose wooden playhouse kit\',120,82,285,196,this,0,0,120,82);" onmouseout="hidetrail();" /><br />Enlarge image</a>');
//--></script><a href="javascript:popupWindow('http://shedkitstore.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image_additional&pID=179&pic=0&products_image_large_additional=images/large/KidKaboose_01_LRG.jpg')"><img src="bmz_cache/2/2717d35263012ddce8d95e31808086fc.image.120x82.jpg" alt="Casey's Caboose wooden playhouse kit" title=" Casey's Caboose wooden playhouse kit " style="position: relative;" onmouseover="showtrail('bmz_cache/b/bede9269e8716238777113eb9f9de673.image.285x196.jpg','Casey's Caboose wooden playhouse kit',120,82,285,196,this,0,0,120,82);" onmouseout="hidetrail();" height="82" width="120"><br>Enlarge image</a>
<noscript><a href="http://shedkitstore.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image_additional&pID=179&pic=0&products_image_large_additional=images/large/KidKaboose_01_LRG.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="bmz_cache/2/2717d35263012ddce8d95e31808086fc.image.120x82.jpg" alt="Casey's Caboose wooden playhouse kit" title=" Casey's Caboose wooden playhouse kit " width="120" height="82" style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(\'bmz_cache/b/bede9269e8716238777113eb9f9de673.image.285x196.jpg\',\'Casey\'s Caboose wooden playhouse kit\',120,82,285,196,this,0,0,120,82);" onmouseout="hidetrail();" /><br />Enlarge image</a></noscript>
My question, then, is how does a web monkey like me fix this?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm having an issue with additional images not showing up. I have tried the fix that was posted earlier, which does correct the additional images not showing up, but then the fancy hover doesn't work in Product listing. I tried the fix from jettrue too but then I get a parse error of unexpected end.....
I know nothing about PHP so after going cross eyed yesterday reading I finally gave up. Can anyone help with this issue?

You may have copied and pasted incorrectly. Try my code adjustment again, and be careful to REPLACE the code correctly. Replace ONLY line 701 (leave the '}' that is on the following line):
Code:
return $parameters . 'style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(' . "'$products_image_zoom','$alt',$width,$height,$zoomwidth,$zoomheight,this," . $this->zoom['startx'].','.$this->zoom['starty'].','.$this->zoom['width'].','.$this->zoom['height'].');" onmouseout="hidetrail();" ';
with this (be sure to copy it all):
Code:
if (!($_GET['main_page']==FILENAME_PRODUCT_INFO)) {
return $parameters . 'style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(' . "'$products_image_zoom','$alt',$width,$height,$zoomwidth,$zoomheight,this," . $this->zoom['startx'].','.$this->zoom['starty'].','.$this->zoom['width'].','.$this->zoom['height'].');" onmouseout="hidetrail();" ';
} else {
return $parameters . 'style="position:relative" onmouseover="showtrail(' . "\'$products_image_zoom\',\'$alt\',$width,$height,$zoomwidth,$zoomheight,this," . $this->zoom['startx'].','.$this->zoom['starty'].','.$this->zoom['width'].','.$this->zoom['height'].');" onmouseout="hidetrail();" ';
}
IF you still get the error, reply here, and let me see your site with the error.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Or, to put it another way, how would someone who is NOT a web-monkey like me fix this?

Try adding this:
$alt = str_replace("\'", '', $alt);
right after this:
$alt = str_replace('"', '"', $alt);
in includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have IH2 installed on both of my sites. Site 1 is fine and dandy, works well and settings are good. I mirrored those settings in Site 2 and everything seems OK but when I hover over the little x in the corner of the small photo, a medium photo does not appear. Both sites are running 1.3.6. Site 2 is built using the Apple Zen Template.
Any idea what I'm missing? The site in question is PittiVintage
Thanks!

You don't have everything uploaded. WHen I look at your source, I don't see these two referenced:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/style_imagehover.css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js"></script>
