Re: Image Handler 2 Support
IH stopped finding images.
I switched host and for some reason IH doesn't add the additional pics for NEW item. The old Items are fine. but new items are not adding the extra pics
I uploaded all files with set perm. 777.
example of files
Main image ABC.jpg
extra images :
ABC_01.jpg
ABC_02.jpg
i can however add images manually but it's getting annoying.
Please Help

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi
I will be grateful if any body can shed some light on this for me.
I have just installed Image Handler 2 which seemed to go ok until i found the whole of my site covered in errors eg
Warning: imagejpeg() [function.imagejpeg]: Unable to open '/home/toyjoysh/public_html/bmz_cache/3/3b4d38918d4728028c5e4e49a1278873.image.32x40.jpg' for writing in /home/toyjoysh/public_html/includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 652
i think i'm going to pull my hair out, i can't seem to find anybody with a similar error in any of the forums.
Thank you in advance.

No need to reply, i just discovered that it helps to set the file permissions properly.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
A new development - seems *anything* to do with large images isn't taking. I've just tried resizing them in the configuration panel (they were set to max 800 x800, because that *is* the max size for the images) - it won't take. Also, the popup window looks different. It didn't have a menu bar before, but now it does. So I'm starting to think there's something "not connecting" here for some reason, or something is wrong with the javascript (but it han't been touched, and was working fine prior to the upgrade).
I've already reinstalled with a fresh copy. Same problems remain.
Also, in the "Tools" area, it says there's no default image set. The images are showing, but when you "click to enlarge" they all come up as 404.
Id it possible that, somehow, the IH2 has "lost" all of the images? Even though they're there and viewable, it seems I cannot resize and watermarks don't show on the base image file (_LRG). I don't know if this is a bug that's clashing with the upgrade or what?
Anyway, if anyone knows how to turn off the popup, that could be a viable short-term solution - I *can* watermark the medium sized images. But they're still linked to open the largeest one, even though I have the "Zoom Medium Images" set to "no".

Amy---doodlebuckets
I don't know if it's just me or what, but I viewed your site in FF and it looks great, but when I viewed in IE6, your Slide does not function (says your slideshow is empty), and I had to scroll half way down the main page before any of your words or graphics were visible. Right sideboxes seem to be ok.
Didn't know if you were aware of this. I don't know what is causing this in IE6, but thought I would pass it on in case you need to check it out.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I am having the same problem that has been discussed with no resolution at breakmyzencart.com. I cannot find a similar discussion here.
Quote:
When using IH2 with Firefox I have no problems. However, with IE6 the first few image pop-ups (near the top of the page) work fine but as you move down the page they seem to popup either far away from the original/base image or mostly not at all. I think when they don't popup at all they may be popping up but just not on the visible part of the screen.
Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Using the latest version on the zen-cart downloads 2.0v0916 with zen-cart 1.3.7
Problem can be seen HERE (in ie6).
As you move down the page, the problem starts at row 4.
Where the images appear below the cursor they appear ok.
When they are forced to appear above the cursor they progressively move higher up the page until they disappear off the top of the page.
I have also had a quick look at 6 sites in the Showcase using IH2 and they all show this same behaviour.
Not sure if its related but HERE they discuss a bug in javascript in ie6 that might be a problem.
Regardless, does anyone have a solution to this problem in ie6?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello,
I have tried the suggestion by xtremme and that did work either. what else should I try??? this is the only thing that is stopping me from taking this new store live, so i really need to get this issue resolved.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Okay - finally got it!
Before, I had downloaded a fresh copy of IH2, uninstalled and overwrote the old files.
This time I went through and *deleted* all the old files. Cleared all the cache files (borwser) and reuploaded everything.
FINALLY it works. Whew.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
...and now I have a new fun issue.
Would anyone know why, in IE7 (haven't checked 6 yet) when you hover over a product image on the "List Products" page the "popup" shows up *only* in the original viewable area of the screen?
Meaning, if I open up the page so "View all products" is shown, and scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen to the last product - if I hover my mouse over the image, the "popup" appears out of view, all the way at the top where the original viewable area is.
The site went live yesterday, but I don't know if I have permission to post the URL in a support forum, so to assist in keeping it from being found, I'll say the URL is (get your brains ready for a puzzle!) Natalie - you want the first 4 letters, and add an "s" to the end...and Photographer, you want the first 5 letters, and add an "s" to the end. Smoosh them together as one word, and add on dot COM. Go to any product page in IE7 and open it up to "View All" - scroll down and you'll see what I mean. The little popups only want to show in the orginal viewable area.
Anyone have any ideas on this? (running 1.3.7)
Oh yeah, and why to the little "hotzone" plus size watermarks show up, when it's set to "no" for "hotzone"? If I set it to "yes, they're still there, but the popups don't work anymore.

Nice looking site! I know there is a setting that you can adjust for this problem you're describing. Unfortunately, it's buried in this very long thread so you might want to do a search. Alternatively you can go to Tim's support site to see if there is a fix for this. There are fixes posted there that are not here. The url for Tim's forum is: http://forums.breakmyzencart.com/
Best Wishes!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
doodlebee, that's REAL close to another site (www.natsphotos.com), which is the first one I went to, as I forgot the "a" on Nata.
But, for your's, I don't really have a clue if it will work, but I noticed that your jscript_imagehover.js is quit different than mine, and I have had no problems of this nature on my site. So, what the hey......it's worth a shot, to try my version, and it will only take you a couple of seconds to copy, paste, save, clear the browser cache, and check it out.
Just don't forget to back yours up first! Here's what mine looks like, and as I said, they have quit a few differences:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I've only just started to use ZenCart, so please bear with me.
I've installed IH2 and the fix so that my additional images show up at the bottom of the page like so:
http://www.sinpatiko.com/testsite2/i...&products_id=2
I just want to know if there is a quick and easy way to have these additional images presented vertically down the page beneath the larger product image, with the product info text, etc, next to it?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi,
I don't know if i'm the only one to face this problem, haven't noticed it along this big thread.
Image Handler is regularly and randomly disactived on my ZenCart. I've find that the IH_VERSION entry in the CONFIGURATION table just disappears. Then, IH is simply disabled, and i have to "Install Image Handler" manually in the admin zone to solve the problem.
I can't explain.
My only lead is that this entry has a strange "configuration_group_id" value : 0.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thanks Get 'em. Turns out the JS you saw was one I was testing with. But the one you've posted it actually the one I already ahve that's displaying this weirdness. I put it back so you could see...
I know the author of the contribtution has seen this as a bug (on his site, 3/27 - he's been trying to figure it out), so he's aware of it. But it's so *weird*. It was working fine before - I can't imagine why it's doing this now.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have image handler 2 installed for my client. He was hosting at 1and1 and I convinced him to host with me. Since I have moved his site his images are a little fuzzy.
Check it out: http://www.modernhq.com
You can see the info here: http://www.modernhq.com/info.php
Can anyone see why my images look so bad?

Easy you DON'T have IH2 installed, or its not working.
All the small images are the large images squashed by the browser down to a small size. Therefore the jaggies & hugh load size.
Need to reinstall IH2 or turn it on

Different small, med and large pics
How do i use different pictures with image handler?
I know ih resize the pics but i actually want to use pictures showing different things dependig if its small, medium or large.. Large shows all color options etc..
So, how do i manage to fix this in a easy way, not having to edit every item in the shop

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
@fredde - sorry, IH is not designed to work that way...the 3 sizes are of one image.
@webrob - admin > tools > Image Handler ...IH admin, clear image cache. If you can't, you FTP to your bmz_cache directory and delete everything INSIDE the category. These are the "on-the-fly" images created by IH and will be re-generated as required.
Then uninstall-reinstall IH.
Your images will remain untouched in your imaqes directory.

Easy just upload a small, medium and large photo to each box. If you load just one it resizes them. If you load 3 it sizes them to apropriate sizes.
Say you have 600x600px image. And upload ONE photo. Now that will resize to small medium and large size settings of JUST that photo.
If you have 3 diff 600x600px images. Want one small a diff one medium and another large simply upload them to those IH spots and it will resize them to the set size you have for small medium and large, all diff images.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have the same problem as some others but haven't found the solution (this thread is over a 1000 posts and I've only read about 200!!!)..... additional images don't show up in the product info page.
The other images are there when I turn IH2 off but disappear when it is on. I can also see them in the IH2 Manager.
This is a fresh install/upgrade from 1.2.7 where the old version of IH was working fine.
One other thing I noticed: for the one product that I added images for using IH2, when I look at it under IH2 admin there are no "delete" buttons under the med and large sizes. All the other products (which were added under 1.2.7) have "delete" buttons.
Help! :frusty:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thanks jettrue,
That worked! (but not immediately for some reason  )
But I'm still getting the strange behavior with the recently added product images. All the old images (added with the old version of IH) are now showing up but the one I just added is not. Also the "delete" buttons under IH2 Manager (medium and large) do not show up for the new product.
Any ideas?

As far as the delete buttons, from the way I understand IH2, there shouldn't be delete buttons for all three images. Deleting one should delete them all, right? Since you only have to upload one, and IH2 creates all the sizes for you?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
So your IH Manager doesn't look like this:
http://www.naturalhistoryonline.com/IH2-screenshot.gif
I haven't tried the delete button...
Here's the new product I'm having trouble with:
http://naturalhistoryonline.com/cat/...products_id=63
I deleted all images for it and added them back in. I thought it was working but I've added 4 images and only 3 are showing.

himmmm...
There a lot of posts here so forgive me if the answer is obvious or was already addressed,
That image of Elfboy' post looks different than mine too. That image shows "Version 2", mine does not show any version. I went to breakmyzencart, and his demo image has "Version 2.0-rc1".
I use IH2 with Zen 1.37, my images on the site are working properly so I am a little concerned with breaking IH when I can leave it alone for awhile longer, I got others problems right now. But my admin is giving me trouble and if I add new images I will need to address that.
Was there some fixes that I don't know about that I should just upgrade into?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
The most up to date version of IH is the one available in the Downloads section as the author of the mod is no longer able to support it.
Just a note for when people refer to "about page 100 in the thread" - you can change the number of posts displayed to you through your UserCP, so it would be helpful to say what posts per page you are viewing yourself.

Yes I just upload one image (about 900 px wide), the "default", and let IH do the resizing. In fact that's the main reason I use IH.

Good info to know. The Downloads section description says "Make sure, you always get the newest version by visiting http://breakmyzencart.com/image-handler"
Maybe someone can change the description?
I downloaded both and compared modification dates and used the most recent (I think it was from the Downloads section!)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I think I'm starting to piece this together....let me know if I've got this right:
The reason I'm seeing "delete" buttons on the med/large images is because the old version of IH created different sizes and saved them (I think with _LRG and _MED suffixes) whereas the new version creates the other 2 sizes "on-the-fly" and puts them in the cache directory.
Sound like a good theory?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
OK, its not working. Only the one I added after installing IH2 is showing up. :(
As you can see the multiple images for Sphalerite are not showing unless I disable IH2.

I agree, it may also be helpful to say "about post 100 (or whatever) in the thread" so we dont have to think about reseting our UserCP to search the area just because our math abiltiy is kind of fading away.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
What am I missing? Every so often I get all these number images as additional images for a product with only one image. How do I prevent this from happening? Not all my products will have the same number of images and deleting them one by one is time consuming.
Thanks!

How to Auto Generate and Include Image Attributes into IMG Tag?
Please correct me if I am mistaken. Read somewhere that stating the image height and width attributes (i.e. the img tag) would help browser to "process" images faster.
If that is true, perhaps IH2 can be tweaked to automatically add the height and width attributes since it already has fields in the Admin for specifying these info. for Small, Medium, and Large images?
I'm a PHP-newbie with an idea. Any advice and/or taker? Thank you.
-
Re: How to Auto Generate and Include Image Attributes into IMG Tag?
For some reason, the IH2 is making all sizes 500 x 500, even though I have different sizes set in the admin. I installed it, then installed a product info display mod which may have messed it up, but I can't figure out how. I am pretty sure I've deleted all the files from that template mod and replaced the ones it would have changed, but I still am seeing only 500 x 500 sizes when I look at the image in the image handler.
Help?
Thanks!
-
Re: How to Auto Generate and Include Image Attributes into IMG Tag?
Okay, I FINALLY deleted every file and folder of the original install, reuploaded them and installed again and it works. One question, though...I want an additional image on the product info page to display at full size. Right now, it's showing up as the small size with the hover and large image options working. Can I make it default to the large size there?
Thanks!

Okay, I'VE HAD IT! It was working fine, I didn't do a darn thing and now it's stopped again and is setting all sizes of the images to 500 x 500 (the size of the original). I don't understand. You can see there are two images on the front page that are working correctly, but none of the others are. PLEASE help before I scrap this install of the store and start all over :( .

Re: How to Auto Generate and Include Image Attributes into IMG Tag?
Um, please forgive me, we found out the hard way that we can't use images with the _LRG at the end for the default. That's what our problem was, apparently. Sorry for all the posts.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
You are forgiven, as long as you forgive the rest of us for loosing our patience with so many tools in a small toolbox.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Stenrique,
It's true that stating the size is best, however working with so many different image sources, personal choices, and people it would be hard to set the three sizes with a standard.
You can tweak it if you like. You just have to explore the javascript and change the percentages to size. At least that's my guess.

I was getting a "fatal libpng error: zlib error in bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 646" in my httpd error log.
In PHP 5.1, the compression factor should be 0 to 9. I fixed the problem by changing the compression factor.
This only affects PHP 5.1 and later, so check your php version in admin -> tools -> Server/Version Info
file: /includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php
Line 646:
change
$ok = imagepng($image, $dest_name, $quality);
to
$ok = imagepng($image, $dest_name, 9);
good luck!
This thread is long, but I found it. I'm running ZC with IH2 locally on XAMPP and encountered this error. Editing that file does the trick. Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello,
Again I have a problem with IH2. Briefly when i upload my site to hosting server IH2 gives the fatal error. In local I use PHP Version 4.3.10 but the hosting company use PHP v5.1.2. I think the different versions of PHP causing the error below.
Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method ih_image::resize_imageIM() in /srv/www/vhosts/modastok.com/httpdocs/yeni3/includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 262
Notice: Object of class queryFactoryResult could not be converted to int in Unknown on line 0
Can anybody have a solution for this error,
Thanks from now.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Forgive me for asking this but I tried searching and failed.
I noticed that on some sites the IH2 works so that the zoomed image is displayed with varying directionality in relation to the cursor based on where the cursor is within the viewable screen.
If there isn't enough room to open the zoomed image to the south east of the cursor, it opens to the north east, or it will open to the west if there isn't enough room on the east side.
My IH2 isn't that smart.
Did I miss a post or two on how to correct this?
Please, I'm a perfectionist, and I can't stand it when it doesn't work right. It's killing meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
O.K., so I was pushed to install Image Handler 2 and now I don't really get it.
I already had Lightbox installed along with basic images for products but not like ones in Medium or Large folders. Lightbox used the basic image to enlarge on the product page just fine.
I did run into a small issue with the very small handful of items that had additional pictures and did add simple copies of the basic images, adding _LRG, and Lightbox worked just fine with the few products with multiple images.
IH2 is in and seems to functioning but what am I missing?
Seems like it is nice for browsing items but I don't really have a big use for that function. It can also load them but I FTP as products are added so can't find a use for that.
It's gotta be me since I see in threads people worrying about Lightbox and IH working well together.
Both great adds but why do I need both?
Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Here is my site:
http://www.alldigitaldesigns.com/zencart/
Hover over any picture and you will see I get an empty floating picture. I have read the doc, installed twice. What am I missing:huh:
Thank you.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I don't know why, but the url for the hover image has what appears to be an extra slash, e.g.
HTML Code:
onmouseover="showtrail('images//soccer.jpg','Plaque - Ball Shape',150,150,400,400,this,0,0,150,150);"
Fix the problem with the assembly of the hover image url, and you should be in good shape.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
The html code quoted is directly from your site. If you load a page on your site with thumbnail images and do a View Source (Ctrl + U in Firefox on a Windows platform), you'll see it.
Image Handler is putting an extra slash in the Universal Resource Locator (url) between 'images' folder and the file name. Further, that url appears to be missing a key ingredient, namely the bmz_cache folder. An example (taken from our hardware catalog, where IH2 is up & running, is
HTML Code:
onmouseover="showtrail('bmz_cache/1/1ca21ca3bc8c06ca90412a858f970200.image.86x180.gif','Chrome Polish/Cleaners',42,88,86,180,this,0,0,42,88);"
Note the folder 'bmz_cache' followed by the subfolder '1' followed by the file name, each separated by a single forward slash. I don't know why, but your installation doesn't do this.
Perhaps someone who is familiar with the guts of IH2 can point you in the right direction.

Permission problems
I am having a problem with file permissions.
When I try to upload images through image handler, they are getting set to 600 on the server. They cannot be read until I manually change the permissions on each file. I searched this entire thread and saw the question asked a few times, but can't seem to find the answer.
Has anyone solved this?
I have my /images, /image/large, and /bzm_cache directories all set to 777 and it doesn't help.
This store was set up with no problems on my own server, and then transfered to a Yahoo server for a client. The problem only started after the transfer.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
pjb, do you use "cPanel" at your host, or another panel that has the option to protect against "hot-linking" images from your site?
I had that problem, turned off the "hot-link" protection, and haven't had a problem since.
Hope this helps.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yahoo has their own Control panal, but I couldn't find anything about hot-link protection.
If I disable image handler, I can upload files through the new products page, and they get the correct permissions. I tried playing around with the umask value, but nothing seems to work.
I found this while searching the Yahoo help.
Quote:
Please note that you will not be able to change the permissions of any of your files to make them executable.
My guess is that any time you try to set the execute permission on a file, they are changing it to 600. Now the question is, how do I get around this?

Re: Permission problems
I'm no expert in server configurations, but I can't imagine it's anything other than a problem with Yahoo's server configuration. Check with their tech support staff to make sure the permissions you set for those folders are not overridden somehow.

OMG ! I just had a client wanting to migrate to Yahoo... and i looked at their service... no problem... they support PHP, mySQL... sure... lets do it...
I'm migrating and come across 2 absolutely unforgiving restrictions Yahoo Small Business hosting has...
1. you can NOT implement your own SSL certificate. You MUST use their shared... and their shared is not like others... files MUST be in a special "ssl" folder...
2. filenames cannot have spaces... not that I put spaces in my filesnames... general no-no... but client has upload many images with spaces in the file names... although its a no-no... to actually prevent/restrict a file being uploaded as such...
ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS in my honest opinion.
I for one would NEVER ever recommend Yahoo small business hosting to anyone...
sorry, i had to mention that after reading the comments about troubles here...

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi, when I click on the image on the product info page, a pop-up box appears, but there is no zoomed image. You can see what I'm talking about by going here and looking at the image on the top left of the page.
Also, one thing I'm unclear about is why that product info page has an image on the top and bottom, but this similar one only has an image on the top. I didn't add any additional images - there's just the standard small, medium, and large.
Thanks.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I am in the process of moving my store to a new host. But I have run into some problems with the image handler. I thought I copied all the files over.
In both the admin and the catalog side I keep getting numerous errors:
Code:
Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to open '/../bmz_cache/3/3ca60279e7e1cd3fd1b761c22a7e1015.image.110x51.jpg' for writing in /../includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 651
So I thought I would test if i deleted the images and start again that would fix th problem. Well it did get rid of the error but I was undalbe to upload any images and i got this error:
Code:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/.../images/products/stamp-effect.jpg): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /.../admin/includes/ih_manager.php on line 175
Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/var/tmp/phpnbMiRk' to '/.../images/products/stamp-effect.jpg' in /.../admin/includes/ih_manager.php on line 175
So what have I done wrong - what do I need to fix?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
bmz_cache and images has to be 777. Did you forget to CMOD after your move?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
 That was it - I totally forgot. My other hosting company had those things set correctly (used fantastico) so I didn't think about it with the new server.
Thank you so much

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I searched a bit in this thread but I can't seem to find the answer to my problem (I didn't actually read all 118 pages but..)
My IH2 works fine, except for the fact that in the product information, only one of the different images appear, as if I hadn't installed IH2. In the admin however, I see all the different images. heres and example.
any ideas?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
mtlfloss, are you wanting more images per product page? If so, IH isn't designed to do that. It's designed to show one image place holder, with up to 3 different images:
1: default image on your home page
2. Larger image (which can be different image, or same image), upon hover of 1st image. This image will also be the one to show on the product page.
3. An even larger image upon click of 2nd image, which can still be the same image, or a different larger image.
But not to show all 3 on the same page.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Lol I thought it could also display different images of a same product, not only different sizes of a same image, oh well, IH2 is still a great mod
:sadwalk:
By the way, If I wanted to display different images of a same product, how would I do it? (uploading different images with the same base name and different suffix doesnt seem to work)
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
There's a fair bit of confusion going on here, so let's clear up a few things...
- IH2 works ONLY on product images.
- You upload your best quality image at the largest size you intend to display it (should never really be more than 750 px wide or 550px high - a lot of people still use 800x600 resolution monitors!) to the images directory, although you can upload to images/sub-directory if you wish.
- IH2 will then access this image and resize/optimise it on the fly for use as your thumbnail (the size used in the listings) or "medium" (the one on the product info page) images according to the dimensions set in admin > configuration > images. These on the fly images are stored in the bmz_cache.
- Using IH, you can not have a different picture for each size of image - if you want that, you must revert to the ZC default method of image management, where image.jpg, image_MED.jpg and image_LRG.jpg can be different pics.
- IH DOES allow you to have additional images - in fact, it makes it exceedingly easy. Simply go to admin > tools > Image Handler 2, select the product you want and add a new file. You don't need to worry about filename or the ZC image naming convention; IH does it for you.
-

This is not true. When you add a new file using IH, you have the option to upload separate images for the medium and large pictures.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Good point - I was thinking of that as the Additional Images side of things because that's not activated through the product data entry page, but within the IH manager

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Is there a way to shorten the name that imagehandler 2 gives for the bmz cache images?
For instance.
http://birdoasis.com/bmz_cache/f/fdcfbc058b35c76655277bf81f254db3.image.59x80.jpg
could easily be fdcfbc058.image.598.jpg.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
mfreund,
I'm having the same problem as you.
- I have version 1.3.7 with IH2.
- The admin is showing the images correctly
- The front-end is showing images the old way (images/) so nothing is done (no "on-the-fly" resizes like I read on the forum), and I have to reupload manually my pictures in the /medium and /large folders.
I'm sure there's a fix for this... can someone help us?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I installed IH2 and it seems to work fine, but sometimes
I get strange error messages in IH2. Moost times in the IH2
manager but also when I want to see the enlarged image ( full size in product screen.)
I have the zen1.37

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Okay I don't understand this I thought I fixed my problem with the images handler. Now I am getting error messages again:
This is on the front end this time:
Code:
Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to open '/home/..../bmz_cache/4/42f0a7f47c3e6f2220758aed7dd7878a.image.140x146.jpg' for writing in /home/.../includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 651
Displaying 1 to 7 (of 7 products)
Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to open '/home/.../bmz_cache/4/42f0a7f47c3e6f2220758aed7dd7878a.image.140x146.jpg' for writing in /home/../includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 651
Also on the admin side I am getting these errors and all the images show as broken links:
Code:
Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to open '/home/.../bmz_cache/a/add5a980e90ee13a874d101aa1f36cdd.image.524x550.jpg' for writing in /home/.../includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 651
Now I have set the persmissions in images and in each folder for bmz_cache to 777. Which fixed my problem last week when I was getting these exact errors. But then they went away. Now they are back!!! WHY????
I am runing image hander 2.0 on 1.3.7 zencart
All the images in the products are showing - some are not having the cool zoom effect but most of the zoom effects are working. So what do I do??
:frusty:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Funny isn't it...
Everyone is complaining about IE, and yet my IH2/Lightbox combo works perfectly in IE6.
I finally got around to downloading FF v2.0, and the zoom doesn't work as advertised.
When I hover the image, I see the zoom flickering if at all, but it disappears.
Works perfect in IE, not so perfect in Firefox.
Any clues?
I just wanna cry!
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
personally, I dont care for IE, FF is my choice and I have no problems In FF and only an old error in IE, which I fixed on a js error. They work perfectly in both IE and FireFox.
think some of the problems folks have is due to their host, I would recheck the permissions, perhaps replace the bmz_cache folder, maybe you are maxed on data storage, too many variables to be looked into....

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
snow, do you use any kind of "hot link" protection on your server, that you just recently set up? That will cause your images not to show with IH, also.
Just a thought, as I've had this problem, and someone else, that I helped, also.

No I do not have any hot linking, I have doubled checked my server settings. But the error has gone away again. I didn't actually do anything and I have no idea if it will come back. Actually I am sure that it will be back as I have no idea what caused it in the first place.
But one thing that is strange. All my small and medium images zoom effects only work for "also purchase" products and for the most of the attributes, but it doesn't show the cool zoom effect on the actual product's image in the product list or in the product info page.
So how to I get that to work? It doesn't matter if I am viewing on a FF or IE browsers.
Thank for any suggestions on my problems.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
the error I secribe in http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=1181
is only the first time an image is viewed.
After that the problem seems to disappear.
Also I found that on the 'larger image' from the proct display I do not see a watermark. I have watemark enabled for all but small images.
Is ths larger image notmeant to be watermark protected?

Switching servers
Hi all
I am building offline and have IH2 installed but without GD/IM support.
As I intend to upload site and data base when ready to a GD/IM supported server..should all just work? ie can I just upload the one image via IH even though it won't resize on my server?
Cheers

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi,
Knock on wood I am not having any problems. I love it! But...I do have a question. Is there any way to add a background image to the files to make all the images on the product list the same size? I would like to add a white background image that would keep all the images 129 x 127. Or something like that. I want them all the same because my page has a dark background and I don't like when the images are all different. I know you can set the size, but if one is not as high as another it doesn't fill the same space and looks uneven or distorts the image to meet the size setting.
I hope I am explaining this the right way. I mainly want it for the listing not the product info display.
Thanks in advance,
Kelly

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
sleepless - either use css or save all your original images onto the same sized canvas.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi Ryk,
Thank for the reply. I considered saving them onto a canvas, but I have almost 1,000 already on the site. New additions would be okay but to go back on the rest would be a bit much.
Do you have any suggestions on how I might do it using css?
Thanks again,
Kelly

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
AndyII,
Thanks, I'll try a few things.
I don't care for either one, I'd rather be sipping a cold one on a beach in Cancun, but instead here I am building a business.
It would be considerably shortsighted of me to say that I don't care for IE considering the size of the potential market that uses IE and should have as good an experience as those using Firefox. And vice-a-versa.
The reality of the matter is not dictated by my personal preferences, but rather by the browser of the person who wants to pay me money for my wares.
That is why we're here, isn't it?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well, for those of you who are interested,
In the file:
jscript_imagehover.js
within the template directory, there is
Code:
var offsetfrommouse=[0,0]; //image x,y offsets from cursor position in pixels. Enter 0,0 for no offset
Although the comment advocates [0,0] for no offset, Dont' do it!
As it turns out, the latest version of FF doesn't take kindly to an offset=[0,0], changing this value to just about anything else fixed the problem.
[1,1] worked, [10,10] was even better.
So there! It was easier than that.

Hello -
I installed IH2 but seem to be experiencing a few problems.
When I pull in my pics I was under the impression I did not have to upload a small, medium and large version. I uploaded a jpeg file for each of my products and was happy to see displayed the 3 sizes and different byte sizes (slave to speed). The small and medium images seem to work ok but when I click to see a larger view - I get a smashed small version.
ideas? - hopefully it is something simple.

Go to Admin>Configuration>Images and set IH large image maximum width to the size you want your larger pop-up image to be. Looks like right now, it's set to 100x80
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I made those changes to IH with negative results...
Think this might be it? I am not using ImageMagick -
IH resize images
Select either 'no' which is old Zen-Cart behaviour or 'yes' to activate automatic resizing and caching of images. If you want to use ImageMagick you have to specify the location of the convert binary in includes/extra_configures/bmz_image_handler_conf.php.
yes
no

Hello Get Em Fast.
After resetting the IH large image maximum width , shouldn't ezskratch then clear the cache of all the images. I suspect the admin settings are only used if and when the required image is not in the cache.
whaddaya think? I could be wrong.

I'm having the same issue as Sleepless. After I upload my Large image, IH2 then resizes my small images to different heights even though I set the width and height in Admin.
I would like for all my small images to be the same height. How can I achieve this? Thanks.

I'm going to direct you to the IH2 author's documentation at:

There you'll find the following:

There are different approaches to setting the dimension of images.
You can do it the normal way and simply specify width and height dimensions in pixels. Set width to 100 and height to 80 for example. If your image is 200×200 it will be resized to 80×80 because this is the biggest size that fits into 100×80.
You can just set width (or height) to e.g. 100 and leave the other dimension blank (or set to 0). Now you specified a width (or height) that the image in question will be resized to. The height (or width) will be calculated according to the correct aspect ratio.
You can for example set it like the first example but append “!” to one value (for example 80! for small image height). The generated resized images are centered on a canvas that matches exactly the given size for the corresponding image. If you specified 100×80! your 200×200 image from the first example will be resized to 80×80 and placed centered on a 100×80 canvas filled with the specified background color. Think of it as kind of forcing image dimensions without messing up the aspect ratio.
In your case set only the height, and the width will be the variable. Bear in mind that the aspect ratio is going to match the original image, if they are all of different sizes, well....
:bangin: clear the cache after you make these setting changes.
This should address your question.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yes i'm having the exact same problem. IH2 admin works fine but it doesn't actually create the images in the medim and large image folders hence dead links on website for medium and large images. IH2 is not compressing the thumbnail either. I'm using zen 1.3.7 with GD libraries and image magik enabled. Is this an issue with 1.3.7?
please help as IH2 looks like a great thing when it's working.
