Also, with IH2, you should not be uploading any large images manually. You upload the size you want your large image to be, then IH2 will automatically re-size your small and medium images for you, according to your image sizes set in your admin. But if you were doing it manually (which kind of defeats the purpose of installing IH2 in the first place), again, you have things in the wrong folder, since you are putting your images in a different folder. any large images would need to be in images/large/product_images/
If I were you, I'd make my life easier, and keep everything in the default images folder, as I'm not sure how well IH2 is programmed to work with different folders?

Jettrue, please see my response to Get Em Fast. (Essentially, I tried moving some test images to the default image folder but it still didn't work... i also cleared the cache in the IH2 control panel and updated the database product table to reflect the image path change...)

I have also tried jettrue's fix to no avail. I did get a parse error the first go round, but that must have been human error because I'm no longer receiving that after re-editting, downloading fresh copy of IH2 and editting the file from there, copying the code from 2 separate posts... you name it I have tried it, still only 1 image  I have cleared my cache, switched to IE, which I rarely use, checked multiple products, none have additional images. Configuration->Images->Product Info - Number of Additional Images per Row is set to 3.
BTW, I can see the additional images in IH2, but nothing shows in the catalog.
Any thoughts?
Audra
I got worried cause I never tested more than one additional image with my code fix , but its working for me.
http://www.zencart137.jadetrue.com/i...&products_id=8
The images were uploaded using the IH tool in the admin.
I'm attaching my classes/bmz_image_handler.php, just in cause there was an issue with your edit.
Also make sure you've uploaded the new includes/modules/additional_images.php that comes with this mod.
THANK YOU SO MUCH JETTRUE....the file classes/bmz_image_handler.php, you attached did the work:clap:
Now I can see the other images too, must have been...dunno, anyway and again, thank you very much.

Are you only uploading one image? Removed the _MED and _LRG files? Can you link me to a product where they are no longer in the product_images folder?

I moved the image for this product out of the images/product_images folder and it is now in the main image directory. There are no _MED or _LRG files.

Has anyone succeeded having both animated gif and ih2?
It works either one of two following for me:
1. No resizing of small image then it gets animated with no zooming image hover.
2. Small images are not animated, but the hovering zoomed image gets animated. <-- this would be a better option, but so much for making animated gifs. I'd rather have animating small image that does not animate when [hovered and] zoomed.
In other words, when the small image is set to be resized, it's not animated. [although it's not actually being resized. The animated image that I'm playing with is exactly the size of small image setting].
Anyone?
Or has anyone got a good explanation so that I stop trying??

mrmeech.......are you wanting just one image to be resized for each product, or are you trying for 1 small image on the index page, with a DIFFERENT, yet bigger image on hover (which will be the same as on the product info page), and yet a DIFFERENT, yet larger image upon click of the product info image?
If you want the same image, just resized, then you don't need ANY _MED, or _LRG images AT ALL.
So i just noticed that the large image isn't being processed by IH2 at all (i don't think). Essentially, it doesn't matter which folder i have the image in (being either the main image folder or my images/product_images folder) once i click on the product image to zoom to the large image, i noticed that the filename of the large image never changes. Ya know how the image filename gets converted to a bunch of numbers and letters once it shoots through IH2? Well, that's not happening somehow. What could be preventing this?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi!
I am using Zen Cart 1.2.6d and have been succesfully using SEFU for about a year. Excellent contribution.
Today, I thought of using Image Handler 2 also with this website. Though the IH installed very well and is working, SEFU stopped working. It does not go beyond the home page.
My website is www.indiansalwarkameez.net
I have turned off SEFU as of now but I desperately need to have it working soon.
I noticed that it adds "cpath" in the URL and the file extension .html is also missing, which causes it to show up an error.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well, I don't know how it happened, or even when! But at some point I lost the ability to click the medium image on the product page to get the large pop-up window. There is no link text that says "Click for larger image" and clicking the medium image does nothing. Everything else is working just fine. I don't know what happened, and I definately don't know how to fix it! Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
tst...
Basically if you alter any image size setting in zencart admin, after you have some cart pages working, it may upset IH2 because IH2 may use the required image's actual pixel dimensions to decide on whether its medium large or small, and IH2 only switches on the popup or watermark if it can decide what image size (small/med/large) it is, by reference to its own config settings.
Check in the images section in admin, for sizes (I think maybe the IH2 settings need to match zencart settings for a specific size) and clear the image cache manually anyway if you alter any size setting whatsoever.
Re another post, pages will hang or be blank specially in product listing, if the image gd/image_magick uses up all the server allocated php memory when IH2 resizes any single image.
Go find that image you uploaded that was a bit too big, upload a smaller one. My host server's processing size limit is about 900px/900px jpg, with allocated memory of 8Mb.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well, I have determined that this is a template issue, it doesn't have anything to do with admin settings or IH2. When I switch to the classic green template, the link for the large images returns. So i need to find out which file controls this behavior so I can fix it in my custom template. Anyone know what file controls this?

Hi all,
I am sorry if this has been asked many times and surely answered, but after reading all morning I just cant find any solution.
Please take a look at www.clickyshop.com
The images at the Featured (productos destacados) sidebox on the right do pop up and show a bigger image, but how can I accomplish this for the images in NEW PRODUCTS FOR JUNE (nuevos productos en junio), FEATURED and SPECIALS in the middle.
Did I miss something?
Thanks a lot in advanced.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Found the problem. It was the tpl_modules_main_product_image.php file. I don't know which mod changed it (it doesn't appear to be IH2), but it was the culpret.

I have a similar question. My photos for new products and for for the product listings don't have the pop up and aren't affected when I change the compression quality. I'm having problems finding a solution in such a long thread.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi, we're having some problems editing or deleting images that have already been uploaded to Image Handler. We can upload images without error, but when we try to delete them this message comes up:
"*Not Acceptable*
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /admin/image_handler.php could not be found on this server."
The images and bmz_cache directories are set to 777, but my client says that the permissions on the additional images end up being set to 666 when she uploads them, and the pop-ups of the additional images aren't viewable unless she goes into CPanel and manually changes the permissions.
Does anyone know what's causing this?
I also have a general question about setting the permissions on these files and directories to 777. I didn't see what they said, but apparently the host of this site wasn't happy about us setting these permissions because of the security risk. It's required that these directories be set to 777, right? Is there any way to lessen the risks of making them world-writeable?
Thanks!
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yes, those directories HAVE to be writable. If that hosting company is worried about those folders compromising their security, then they aren't much of a hosting company, or they have VERY little protection.
If your client has the "hot link" protection turned on in cPanel, then that will cause problems. Make sure they have that turned off, as that denies access to ANY image file.
Hope this helps.
-
Bug?
The modules/pages/popup_image_additional/header_php.php does not have the ?> php end code.
That gives an error in some cases.

images not being served from bmz_cache
After installing IH2, the image on my product detail page is looking for the products image in images/medium/ instead of its actual location in the default directory /images.
In addition, _MED is being appended to the filename.
The dir bmz_cache is writable (777) and it does seem that images are being created there.
The "Larger Image" link is also being created with the incorrect "/medium" and "_MED" being incorrectly tacked on.
I've read a good many articles in this thread and have checked many things. I'm still in need of some good advice or pointer where to look.
Thanks Much

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
 I'm reaping some benefits of your contribution, but I'm having trouble adding additional images.. as in different colors/styles of product. After reading this thread and checking your site, I realized I am supposed to have a pink (I) icon in Admin → Catalog → Categories/Products.. ( http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1063/640734220_0deefb7a80_o.jpg ) I do not, and I don't see where to add anything but small medium and large versions of images ( http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1010/...16deaaf8_o.jpg ) in Admin → Tools → Image Handler 2
Halp?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
So, i moved my site to a new host. Copied all of the files, set the correct permissions for IH2... and when i log into the admin on the new host and go to the IH2 admin, it says it is installed. However, when i click to remove and re-install it (because only some of my product images are showing up on the site), i get booted out of the zen cart admin once i click to confirm the delete. I'm sort of at a loss for what to do so any help would be great!!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Found the problem, it *was* a permission error. Forgot to change the permissions for the medium and large directories.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
The 'pink' icon should appear in the row of icons in the admin section. If IMH is correctly installed and you are loooking at the Categories / Products layout/page you should see a row of icons on the RH side of your layout.
These icons are as follows: one or two icons denoting the status of the product (the number of buttons is determined by whether or not you have 'linked' products'), then further to the right the icons are, from left to right:
a green button 'e' for editing the product details
a red button 'x' for deleting the product
a purple button 'm' for moving the product
a blue button 'c' for copying the product
a pink 'i' button for Image Handler
a black (or light blue depending on status) button 'a' for product attributes
a green button '$' for the Products Price Manager
and finally a black (or orange depending on status) 'quartered' button for the product's Meta Tags/ Titles etc
If you haven't got the 'pink' button then you haven't got Image Handler installed correctly or, prehaps it isn't 'initialised'. ('Initiliasation' is under Tools menu in admin; Image Handler 2/Admin)
I hope this helps to clarify what is meant by the 'pink' button/icon

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I've been having problems on a few sites with IH2 stopping the product info page displaying in mid flow.
After doing some debugging today I've narrowed it down to where it tries to display an image for the category.
In includes/modules/category_icon_display.php, everything stops on line 11 at:
if (!defined('IS_ADMIN_FLAG')) {
die('Illegal Access');
However, going to "Admin > Configuration > Product Info > Previous Next - Navigation Includes Category Name and Image Status" and setting it to 1 (Category Name Only) seems to sort it.
If IH2 is switched off and "Previous Next - Navigation Includes Category Name and Image Status" is set to the default of 2 (Category Name and Image when not blank), it will display the category image ok.
So, to sum up, IH2 has a problem with category images. Is there a fix, does anyone know??

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I really like this contribute! It's doing what I need with the exception of one piece. I've searched for a couple of hours through this thread and haven't found the answer.
I'm using additional images to show different color schemes. So I need the additional images to have text with them that say Chocolate or Pool or whatever the name is that we've given it. By default it only says "larger image" (which is fine) on the small image and the product name on the popup. It would be great if there were an easy way to add an additional field or change the existing one to be user specific.
Is this an easy fix or will it require digging pretty deep into the code?
You can see what I'm looking at here: http://dev.binkwaffle.com/index.php?...&products_id=5
Thanks.

Yes, the answer is here, but you need to assign the colour swatch(es) to an attribute for a product.
This module: Attribute Pop-up (Large Images) in the Home :: Downloads :: Other Modules section of Zen Cart gives you this feature, but there is (possibly) an unresolved conflict between this module and IMH2.

In an effort to conserve energy (mine!) can someone tell me how to optimize images that are already on my site?

Can I do a bulk upload or something?

I've uninstalled & reinstalled IH2 several times & made sure I've got the most recent version I can find. I've read through this thread regarding this issue & bmz forum. And it still isn't working in IE6 & IE7. As usual FF is fine.
The weird part is that it was working fine in IE6 in my test cart but not when it was moved over to production. The weird part is that all I did was move the entire directory structure over from the test to the production & replaced the config files. ZC 1.3.7 on both so that shouldn't be the problem.
Any thoughts? Should I just backup & reinstall ZC from scratch?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi,
I have zencart 1.3.7 and is about to install IH 2. According to the information in DOWNLOAD page, IH2 is for zencart 1.3.5. I noticed there are some files in IH2 will overwrite zencart files (eg. includes/modules/additional_images.php). I wonder if I just copy the files I might lose any zencart modifications since version 1.3.5.
The files I found were:
1. admin/includes/modules/category_product_listing.php (The difference was only one line. It seemed to related to IH2. So I merged the line.)
2. includes/functions/html_output.php (I attempt to use the one in zencart 1.3.7. It was dated later. It covers all the lines in IH2 plus more.)
3. includes/modules/additional_images.php (Don't know what to do!)
4. includes/modules/main_product_listing.php (Don't know what to do!)
There are more. I just want to get some advices before I proceed. BTW, I copied all the under admin (except admin/includes/modules/category_product_listing.php mentioned above). The admin seemed to work. I only checked if the IH shows under admin->tools.
Thanks.

/home/wonderso/rabbitinmyhat.com/includes/modules/pages/popup_image_additional/header_php.php

I completely reinstalled ZC 1.3.7.1 and the latest version of IH2. IE Is still crapping out on the hover. The one constant is my DB. I backed it up before I whacked the cart and then restored it afterward. I'm a little confused on what it's doing when it's adding & removing IH2 from the DB. I thought that I could remove it and it would wipe everythign out and I'd be startign from stratch. I'd really rather not have to wipe out my DB and redo all of that. Not on my list of fun things to do.
What else might be giving me this error in IE?

What else might be giving me this error in IE?
I found the answer in this thread on the bmz forum:
Code:
Hello:
I think you have an error on that line.
You have:
ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + event.pageY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
it should be:
ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + event.clientY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
pageY should bre clientY...smile Try that...
-MM
It works. I'm good now. Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
sonicparke
thats the IE IH2 pageY javascript bug, coming from the file that IH2 inserted in the \jscript folder, in current template. Maybe you changed the template (folder) used, when going to production version?
There is a fix on the kroeger break my zencart site I think,
I myself did an almost accidental fix for whiffy positioning of the zoom popup position in IE, which probably also has the Kroegers fix in it. Only IE uses the pageY code lines, in the javascript file.
to save you reading the 136 post pages to find my mod, my download zip is at

...that might cure something (or not)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I know it is usual to open a new post for a new question but it looks like IH2 has its own thread so here goes.
I have just installed this WONDERFUL:smile: module, however I have selected yes to tell it to watermark the large images and no watermark is apparent.
Am I suposed to add a watermark image in the files somewhere first? Or what could be the problem please?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Dear all,
I am using 1.3.0.2, after upgrade to 1.3.7, the IH2 look like not work on the sample server (CentOS 5 default install, just manual yum installed PHP with GD2 already, MySQL) and the web site work
ok, just the IH2 auto resize image not work.
Any suggestion to troubleshooting? (My IH2 look like have two different version, since I download a version from Zen-Cart look like not same as the author web site one ... the author web site one have the htmlout but Zen-cart one have not ... now I am confused too (Since IH2 not installed by me, now I just ask for upgrade to 1.3.7)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
For some reason my pictures on the main page of www.moparpartsales.com do not show the java popup, and the pictures under the product description are not showing up at all?? yet they are showing up under the New Products, Specials and Featured.
They where all working at one time, the only change was the addition of SEO but disabling it in the Admin area and in the .htacces file doesn't change anything.
I have searched and searched but so for haven't found anything related. could some one please take a look, and give me some ideas as to what to do to fix this issue.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Real thanks for this awesome module, but i have some questions to upgrade this experience :p
I installed IH2 today, all is going fine except i can only hover-zoom on my categories images. I don't want that I want it to hover-zoom on small image in product list, and small multiple images in product pages.
All my categories images are gif. I always uploaded via FTP my small, medium and large products images (these are jpg) and then I populate with the good path to the small image. Everything is ok I can see multiple photos etc... like a working fine zencart would do, but still no hover on those small images.
Do I really have to pass trough IH2 admin on each product or is there a trick to make all my small have the hover zoom and another trick (if possible for this second one) for my categories to stop hover-zoom ?
thank you

Try different image sizes. I find I can stop the categories image from zooming by changing them to an odd numbered size (I use 57), and to get it to create the product images, try making them different sizes (I use 80 for the product listings).
I'm curious, why are you uploading small, medium and large images? With IH2, you upload the largest image you want it to use, then it will do the rest.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well you know i installed it yesterday only and i don't really care to upload 3 sizes since when i got the large i can batch to get the medium and small in few clicks. And then i populate like hundreds of items in one go so :D
I'll try to find the image size that fits my needs so.

OK Maybe I need to rephrase my questions...
My URLs to my pics are...
Location: "http://www.moparpartsales.com/images/medium/2947486_MED.jpg"
Address: "javascript:popupWindow('http://www.moparpartsales.com/ignitionswitch2947486-pi-52.html')"
This is incorrect, Image2 images are stored in the bmz_cache folder. and yes they are still there.
What file should I check/edit to make the changes to the URL being used to link my pics?
Or am I even heading in the right direction??
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I succedeed by tweaking a few options and in configuration images there was my small image on 140*170 (categories images size) instead of 170*170 (my small images size) and now it's perfect. thanks guys

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Additional Info: There are a few parts that I have added a second pic too, using the normal ZenCart file system, These images show up correctly and enlarge as they should. I hope this info helps narrow down where to look to fix my issue.

For the hover issue, see my post to Kodam a few above, that mentions playing around with the image sizes to get the hover back.
When you upload images for a product are you only uploading the large image, or are you uploading medium and small images as well?
ETA: While this is fairly unrelated, I tried to validate your site using an XHTML validator, and there are a ton of issues popping up which seem to be related to one of your meta tags being capitalized. In xhtml, they should all be lowercase:
<META name="y_key" content="6f15896c750a8314" />
Anyway, it couldn't hurt to fix that.

Thank You for the response. I'll give this a try and let you know the results.

The few images that work where uploaded as different sizes, shortly after I installed this mod and was uploading just 1 large image. It all was working for a short time.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well I tried to change the images sizes, to no avail.
What URL do you have for your resized images? for example, if you go to this page http://www.moparpartsales.com/mopare...7.html?cPath=5
and right click where the image should be, I get javascript:popupWindow('http://www.moparpartsales.com/moparearplugs-pi-27.html')
Does this mod not pull the image from the bmz_cache directory? So I would like to see what others have for a URL.

Above is a sample from my site, then yours below.
It supposed to popup to an html page, (that's the popup window), but I notie that it is going to an images/medium file, instead of the bmz_cache folder, and I have to wonder if this is because you are uploading the medium images manually instead of letting IH2 do it. Try removing all of your medium and large images that are in the medium/large folders. Also, I wonder if turning off your seo Urls makes any difference?
Can you link me to a product image that does work? You say the few that work were uploaded with different sizes, but I see that this item:
http://www.moparpartsales.com/amfmca...18aj-p-77.html
has a medium image uploaded to your website, yet its not working.

Actually I haven't uploaded Medium images, but second images. Example = "http://www.moparpartsales.com/1968dodgepickupmirror-p-3.html?cPath=4"
Now this pictire is a second image and its shows as well as the popup works??
Thats what I was looking for. This confirms that the URL is incorrect for some reason... Now to find out why?

No medium images, they are all in the bmz_cache folder, and I can view them in the Image Handler 2 Admin area, so I know there still there.
I have tried a few times to turn off SEO and have gone though the code 3 times and compaired the changes to the Original files, But I see nothing that wouls mess up my image urls.

I'm really just grasping for straws here. Is the medium and large folders also deleted off the site? Have you tried the clear IH2 cache thing in the IH2 admin? Have you tried emptying the bmz_cache folder, so it can start over? Remove image handler from the image handler admin, and re-install it?

Thank You Sooooo much for your help!!!!
I have found the problem!
It was with a file called html_output.php, I was using a different version or a corrupted version. I downloaded the mod directly off this website "http://breakmyzencart.com/image-handler" and checked each file size to see if it matched. I renamed the ones that didn't and installed the new file then reloaded the problem page with each change until it was fixed.
Apparently there are many different modified versions from different people.
Anyways its finally fixed and I can continue on with my life LOL
Thanks again for your help :O)

I attempted to ensure that all files are in the correct location but the problem persists. ANy idea of what I need to do?

IH2 jscript file location
In the course of installing some modules, I noted that IH2 installs its jscript_imagehover.js file in the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT/jscript folder. There is also a TEMPLATE_CUSTOM folder provided with IH2 but it does NOT contain the .js file. If you are using a custom template and there are any OTHER .js files installed in the jscript folder in the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder, zencart will IGNORE the jscript folder in the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder and IH2 hover function will NOT work. This was noted by ckosloff.
I would suggest that the jscript_imagehover.js file should be installed in the jscript folder in the working template folder if any template other than TEMPLATE_DEFAULT is being used. Then if there is an update to Zencart and the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder is changed, the IH2 module will remain intact.

Re: IH2 jscript locaton
Dr. Byte has confirmed that if there ANY .js scripts installed in the custom YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript folder, none of the scripts in the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder will be used. So the jscript_imagehover.js file should be installed in the working (custom) jscript folder rather than OR IN ADDITION TO the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder in order for the hover image effect to work.

Re: Global hover effect in IH2
I like the way that the image hover works, but I find that it is present on ALL my product images, even those with a "no picture available" picture.
Is there some way to limit the effect to only selected products?

You have to play with the image sizes. There's some weird bug or glitch in this program, and I have no idea what it would take to stop the bug, but try changing your product listing height to 80.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Grimmy,
Looks like you got the problem ALMOST solved. Just checked your website and saw that the thumbnails were 80x80 and the hover worked on MOST of them. The exception I noted was on the "ladies clothing" page where all three images had the "+" sign in the lower left corner but only the top one did the hover. Which folder are you using for your larger images, images/medium or images/large? I found that hover only works on images in the medium folder.
BTW, you might want to change your page title block. It still says "ZenCart: the art of e-commerce".

There's no need to use medium or large image folders at all with IH2... in fact, those folders don't even exist on my server. IH2 only requires ONE image uploaded, that one being the largest size you want shown for the larger image popup. IH2 does the rest. I checked his site, and all three Ladies Clothing images hovered for me....

Installation Question
Please excuse me if this has already been posted before. After half an hour of searching around I couldn't find anything.
So I test installed IH2 on the test server on my local machine and it worked perfectly. I am now trying to implement it onto the live server, but the installation process is not working.
I copied the four folders in the installation package into my zencart directory on the server, but the IH2 is not showing up under tools in my admin panel. I am pretty sure that I am not doing anything wrong, because I did the same thing on my local machine and it worked.
The server should meet the requirements of IH2 in terms of gd version.
Please advice.
edit: the name of the admin folder has been changed as per instructed in the security tutorial. that shouldn't affect anything if my paths in configure.php is set right.. right?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Problem solved. I just uploaded the default "admin" folder onto the server instead of copying its content into my renamed admin folder.
I guess they don't call me a New Zenner for nothing.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Alex,
My images folder, all folders inside and "bmz_cache" are set to 777. I have also had a problem that results in the following error littered randomnly through out my site:
Warning: imagedestroy(): supplied argument is not a valid Image resource in /home/content/p/i/p/pipsmker/html/includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 531
After I had changed all the permissions to 777 that error showed up alot less but it seems to be back again.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Josh

I found this to be the same if using large original pics. The difference between using IH on your PC and live is huge!
I now reduce the original first or it takes too much time.
