That line 8 definitely has a syntax problem.

It shouldn't be a smiley:

I changed the file. It now looks like this:

Same problem. As soon as I upload the file to admin/includes/ auto_loaders/ the website shows up but the admin page is a blank.

I downloaded the westminster_new template about 3 weeks ago, and the code in my file reads:

I have now installed it on about 5 of our sites, and the install has been flawless... A few minor issues after the install, but the actual install went without a hitch.

Where did you get your copy of the template? I download from Anne's site (picaflor azul) - not from ZC plugins.

A bad host can cost you much more than their hosting fees. They can cost you your business.

I downloaded it from the zencart.com site. I don't know where the file was located. I installed the template to a clean install of ZC except that I used my current database. There may be something in my db that's causing the issue. I could try installing the template before putting uploading my db but then I may not be able to use it in my live store so it would be a waste of time.

I copied your code and uploaded the file and again, I can't access my admin page.
I'm officially giving up. There's other templates I can use.

First of all, I did what was suggested and downloaded the program directly from the author's website rather than from the forum. I deleted all the files from the previous install and reinstalled it.
Same problem. I was able to log into my admin page and when I switched templates, I received an "error refresh page" (or something like that) and it wouldn't go beyond that.

I deleted the config_westminster_new.php file and was able to switch to the westminster template with no problem and there were no debug messages.

I've had similar problems in the past installing new picaflor templates. In my case it turned out that starting with a clean file set wasn't sufficient - I had to clean up my database - previous templates installed mods in the db that weren't used on new template, or used differently, and as they were still present were interfering with new template . In my case the carousel mod was the culprit one time. There was something with colorbox duplicate entries another time. Amongst others. Its unfortunate that there isn't an 'uninstall sql' for the templates that removes these things. However, it didn't take me long to look through phpMyAdmin config and configu_group and admin_pages to identify and remove the culprits. On the first go I deleted a few too many, but that's what backups are for.

Not sure if this is relevant to your situation, but I throw it out there just in case. (The ref to lightbox in your log error brought this to mind.)

You're probably correct and I did think about that because after I did a clean install of ZC, I then uploaded the db from my live store. I thought about experimenting by installing the template without uploading the db. The problem is that if it works, I would still have a problem installing the template in my live store and frankly, I don't want to mess with that db and I don't want to bother going through the trouble of doing so.

Could we get an 'official' answer regarding the most stable version?

The Westminster_New available from the ZC Plugins section or the version available from the Anne's website?

The file dates are more recent in the ZC plugins version but there seems to be a few people that are having better 'success' using the version with older dated files which is available from Anne's website download.

Westminster_new is a lot more detailed and "complex" than picaflor's earlier templates. There is a lot more activity going on behind the scenes, and it looks like there are a lot of conflicts going on with the way your original site is communicating with the database, and then having to cope with more detailed westminster_new template. Much of this is caused by old plugins that are either edits of some core files, or have redundant overrides.

We had a look at the basic structure and much of the code in the westminster_new template and decided to REMOVE practically every plugin we were using on the original site (both front-end and admin plugins), before implementing this new template.

After a couple of days, and much discussion, we decided to (on a dev server), a completely fresh install of ZC:1.5.5b (a few days later to become ver.c then ver.d) - with a fresh and empty database - as if we were "starting for the first time"..

Then, we looked for ESSENTIAL plugins compatible witn 1.5.x (for admin & front-end) and installed these. So we still had a totally empty site (no products, no customer data, no transaction data.)

Then, we matched up (as far as we could) the ADMIN configurations that existed in the old "live" site, with the new "dev" site... This included all the parameters in the "configuraton" menu, along with payment and shipping modules. We loaded up sitemap.xml, Ceon URI re-write, Google Merchant Center, EasyPopulate V4, Export Shipping Orders, CK Editor.

When we had the new dev site configured as closely as possible to the working, original site, we did database dumps of both sites' databases and did a very careful analysis of the tables. Many plugins make changes to the dbase, and we found that even after using uninstall.sql files, many tables were in a "mess". (Fortunately, we have fairly good MySql skills available).

Then... we TRUNCATED all the tables in the dbase relating to products, customers, addresses, orders, ... In other words, all tables where PRODUCT, CUSTOMER and TRANSACTIONAL data is stored (and cross-referenced). To do this, one needs to know the relational nature of the various tables, so it's not something a novice should attempt.

Then we INSERTED the data from the live (now under maintenance) stores database, into the NEW store database - thereby transferring all customer and product-related data from the old site, to the new site.

I must stress this is NOT for novices... One tiny error in a Dbase ID number, and you are in a total mess.

Then... better part of a day doing testing. Apart from a few minor glitches (oversights really), the new site "replaced" the old site just 72 hours later, with a total "down for maintenance" time of just over an hour.

Just to add... When we load a plugin, we always look at any SQL parameters to see what tables are going to be modified by the plugin. We make a note of these in the website's "manual logbook" - hand-written (or printed out notes) that we archive. We use these notes for all maintenance, upgrade and plugin install activity. By knowing what tables are altered, we can get a better idea of the likelihood of potential conflicts that may arise, if php code tries to make calls to a table (field) that is either no longer there, or may have undergone some change or other.

I just installed Westminster New template to my store and I lost all sideboxes when I installed the template. I downloaded it from Zencart forums. I can't understand where I went wrong? Plus is there a way I can add information and more information to the tabs? Oh and by the way, before you say did you update the sideboxes the answer is yes. I have also done a screen shot of what I can see via chrome.

When a new template is installed you must RESET the layout boxes. They will not appear as you had them so you need to reconfigure their location and sort orders.

Additionally, this template blocks side boxes on the home page - irrespective of the setting you make under the configuration >>> layout settings options.

You need to edit out the blocker in the templates tpl_main_page.php file,

I did reset the boxes but how do I find tpl_main_page.php file I have looked in my templates folder and can't find it so in would be nice to have all the folders names and not just the file name

Hi, I am getting an error.

I have just upgraded to 1.5.5d from 1.5.1 on my test site. Installed this template, and when I click on tools -> Layout Boxes Controller, I get this error: WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again in my admin control panel, and I can't access anything in the admin panel except seeing that error. (refreshing does not help) the error message won't go away and I can't access the admin control panel any more.

Still haven't found the answer at this one:
When I click on an image it opens up with a width of 624 px, despite the fact that the image is 1200 px width.
How can I Modify the size of the displayed image in lightbox?

The only place i have found "lbImage" defined is in stylesheet_zen_lightbox.css but there isn't anything about 624px width.
Where do I control this size?

I have 2 problems.The first problem I have is, how do I get rid of that line that is going through the page on the bottom image?

The second problem that I have is: When the page is smaller enough to be in mobile size I have an extra space between the 3rd and 4th banner image.

The only place i have found "lbImage" defined is in stylesheet_zen_lightbox.css but there isn't anything about 624px width.

I believe it has to do with the first file: classes/zen_lightbox/slimbox.php, but how do I edit it to open the image in lightbox as the actual size (1200px) or at least 1000px or a percentage of the viewer's window?

The reason I ask here is that this template has the lightbox plugin allready preinstalled and looks different than the plugin uploaded in the plugin area.

Hi all,

I am using Zen-Cart 1.5.5d in combination with the Westminster template. I am having troubles with the position of the buttons. When I google for other sites where the same template is used, I see they have the same problem.

See the image below; This is wat I get now.

Annie,I met a memory issue for your template.

After long time investigation and study,Finally i have found the problem. This issue was caused by \westminster_new template file,this file located at \westminster_new\files\includes\classes which replaced zencart default file,replace the file with latest zencart template file,the problem is gone..i am not sure if am doing right,i am wondering if there will be any effect on the responsive effect...

The "height" of the buttons is controlled in the CSS (to a degree), and in the way the php code "positions" the elements. Part of the challenge with this particular page is that the buttons are not "relative" to each other, like the buttons at the bottom of the shopping cart page.

^so i should have figured I didn't install this correctly, but I went ahead and hit activate, now I'm getting a 500 error and mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request_ipc function

The images say 403 forbidden... ?

this is a pretty fresh 1.5.3 install.

A 500 error should be worked on by your host as that's a server problem.
AND....If you are doing this work on 1.5.3, you would be better served to upgrade (or start over) with 1.5.5d using https://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?3...d-of-upgrading. Do NOT use your host's autoloader. Get the newest version at https://www.zen-cart.com/latest.

What triggers the auto loader to get the config menu in admin? I see the auto_loaders folders but I wonder how it all functions.

This is why: I've installed in a test folder and installed all template and mods. Used the clone template function. The removed all the original folders. Now I had to take the most current db and apply the upgrades. The template auto loader must not have been triggered as no config options got installed into admin. Does the auto loader function only work with naming this template winchester_responsive? Can I trigger it somehow?

Lovely template, this one is. I like it a lot.

Here is my question, on the main page, the three images that zoom in and out when the mouse goes over them. I see the images in the /images folder, and the SHOP NOW text is in the code, but where is the other text, the FINE JEWELRY, GREAT TOPS, etc?

I have hunted around but cannot find this out.

Hi monkeybus,

Better still Login to your admin center. Then go to Tools/Banner Manager and look for homead1 homead2 and homead3. Now you should be able edit them to what you want in the place of those 3 images. I hope this helps you out.

I am using Responsive_All_Business however that support forum is dead - for some reason or other on two of my sites the admin/configuration/responsive_all_business doesn't appear (on 3 other sites it does) - all sites have been operating OK for a few years however I now want to activate the slide show on the index page however to activate the slider one has to go to admin/configuration/responsive_all_business, which doesn't exist .... so is there another way to turn the slide show on, a .php file where instructions can be changed? I reckon the slider .php would be common/similar on all Picaflor templates?

I installed the template OK the first time, then I tried on my friend's domain and the entire site is all one huge column.

I did all as per the instructions, rename admin folder, upload, layout boxes controller reset.

No good.

I recently installed the Westminster template and notice a Product detail Tab on my Product listing page. Where do you add info? I've looked all over and searched this forum don't see any info on that. I must be blind sorry if this has posted before. Attachment 16959

also in the flex footer, I tried to put links using standard HTML They show in the footer as HTML and not links something must be broken but I can't find where to look any ideas?

I'm running Zen Cart 1.5.5e. I'm hosted with TMDHosting, I installed Westminster New (as per instructions) on March 8, 2017. It worked. We smiled and logged out for the night. Tried to log onto my site on March 9, 2017, but I couldn't. I uninstalled Zen Cart and installed another fresh copy and then installed the template again and the same thing happened. Now every time I try to reinstall the Westminster Template my site crashes. Has anybody had a similar problem when trying to install the template to Zen 1.5.5e? I've tried testing on my other servers and the same thing happened too.

I wrote my host and they said I had an internal error:

After hours of trying I figured out the problems with additional images. I did not properly name the first image in the Product in Category page.

I still have the problem with the logo on mobile devices.

Find your ZenCart Database then look for the flexible_Footer_Menu table. scroll down till you find the column with your html text then select that one to edit. You can go ahead and put the correct html code in there. It got stripped when you use zencart admin footer plugin. I promise it won't strip it in phpmyadmin. I had the same problem and thought of trying this method and it worked for me =). Good luck.

The Details tab now shows the manufacturer. To make it product specific you need a new field in the product description table and the user interface to enter data when entering new products. Sounds like an overkill for me :)

Looks like you've been hacked; someone's tampered with the files on your site. There's no such "update_pass.php" file in Zen Cart.

It appears that the "details" tab is just a subsection of the usual details that can already be configured in the Admin for each product.
In a template that doesn't have those "tabs", that information is shown below the main description. The "tabs" are just some javascript firing on some HTML <div> tags wrapped around the sections that would otherwise display vertically.

One other thing that I cannot get to work is adding a 4th banner to the 3 that comes with this template. I shrunk the image size down to fit a 4th in the style sheet and added a 4th banner in the banner manager and edited the main page in the defines pages.

I searched but can't find solution, please help me to erase the static "Sale" image on left leader of this template. I want to permanently disable or delete it. But it should not disturb cross browser adjustments which is currently fine.
I notice this static image already does not show up on mobile devices which is fine.

I am using the Winchester Black Template and am running Zen Cart v1.5.5a. I just installed several plugins each one breaks my top navigation menu dropdown. The top menu does not work when you hover over the menu. If you click on the top drop down menu links they do not display all the sub-pages and categories. Meaning the hover over javascript is not working.

The modules I installed that break the navigation menu are: (SEO Urls, Image Manager 4, or ZX slideshow)

I am positive I didn't overwrote any template files with any of these modules. After many hours today I compared the source code before and after of the homepage, to see what is different between when the menu displays drop-downs and when it does not.

When these show in the header (after installing a new program):
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/templates/winchester_black/css/style_imagehover.css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="includes/templates/winchester_black/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js"></script>

The drop-down menus are broken.

The menus show perfectly when these definitions are gone. Which happens before I try to install any one of the programs mentioned. I would think it would be the opposite.

Any pointers as to how I can fix this top menu to display properly so these are removed after I add a new program? I don't know which file is being overwrittten that adds these when I add a program but I cannot move past this.

I am guessing at least for Image Manager 4s (which I keep trying to install) that these 2 files:

/css/style_imagehover.css
jscript/jscript_imagehover.js

Interfere with this templates hover over drop-down menu. In looking at the additional_images.php (modules> Winchester Black folder) I see mentions to something called: Zen Colorbox. My guess is Winchester Black uses Zen Colorbox and Image Manager 4 somehow conflicts. Hmmmm. I really need this image manager for my client but its too late to change templates.

I had issues with things disappearing when I went full ssl. Different template, same author. Turned out some images and other things in the template files were coded with http: urls instead of https:. I did a search for "http:" via the admin developer tools and was able to track down and changed all those entries o https: . There weren't actually all that many - the list was long but most were meta/author type info that didn't affect the site working.

Hello everyone. I am new to Zen Cart, this is my first post here. I have searched my issue in this thread and not found any related issues. I installed Zen Cart through HostGator "One Click Installs". The basic template worked. I installed the Westminster New template according to the instructions in file folder westminster_new/readme/westminster_new_readme.html and now the front end is a blank screen.

I installed Zen Cart in a sub directory

According to the Chrome and IE browsers there is a HTTP ERROR 500. This error does not show in Firefox.

I have decided to delete the install. Quite frankly, without a way to easily install/uninstall templates I do not see how I can use Zen Cart. All the best to those who want to use Zen Cart. I hope your experience is better than mine.

Install was not fun for me either. Don't use a packaged install offered other than from ZC. The problem I had was there is on one definitive place where the install instructions live. Making backups of the entire directory is advised.

After some years, I'm very happy with it. Price is right being the foremost.

Some details aren't straight, but for the price, I'm over it. My Facebook link on my front page still goes to picaflor-azul, but oh well.

When adding Social Media Icons info in the flexible footer menu, it goes bust. All I change are the links, as a matter of fact, I only changed the last part of the Facebook link to my facebook name and again it breaks and all I get is the html code. What am I doing wrong.

I have twice done a fresh install of 1.5.5e which functions OK. When I install this template as instructed, the site will not function with any template. I initially got a 500 error, but now get a message

"The www.balloonforkids.com.au page isn’t working

www.balloonforkids.com.au is currently unable to handle this request."

Is there some simple error which would consistently cause this? Given that the contemporary green template does not function, there would seem to be, but I cannot find it. Files are correctly uploaded, and admin works OK.

Hi all could really use some help.
Is there anyway to get the drop down menu to stay open on hover. I have a lot of categories and you can't see them all on the drop down menu. I know it would be some kind of css but just don't know where or what lol I have tried a couple things none of them have worked. Like on the hovers have tried {display: block;}, and {display: block; z-index:1; } and display: block; position:relative} maybe I am just not putting them on the right hover css I don't know but I have tried and failed lol.

I did have another question anybody use the pure css mega menu with westminster new. How did it work on mobile. Thinking about trying it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I don't understand how to delete custom left slide out, I understand that file is under includes/templates/winchester_responsive/common/tpl_main_page.php but what lines I have to uncomment?

Hello,

Westminster New is my favourite template, however got some problem after ZC upgrade to 1.5.5e...

When trying to reach index.php?main_page=account, everytime i get an error:
"500 Internal Error
The server encountered an internal error and could not complete your request."

When I change to different template, this error doesn't occur.

Does anyone know, which exactly template file is related to view logged customer's account details/changes?

@guitarrizer, two things:
1. That "Server 500" error you received should have resulted in a myDEBUG-*.log file being generated in your store's /logs directory; that file will identify the source and details of the issue.
2. When viewing a customer's account page, there are a couple of unique, primary files: /includes/modules/pages/account/header_php.php and /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_account_default.php. There are also page-specific language files.

Hello lat9,

Thank you for your help! Log file from your 1st point showed me the clue. The problem was inside translation file - there was an apostrophe missing.

By the way, tpl_account_default.php doesn't exist in Westminster New template. Zen Cart works good without it, in fact.

There is "GENERAL INFO" section in top links. I would like to change its name to something else or to delete it. Trying to make it in translation file in includes\languages\my_language\extra_definitions\westminster_new\westminster_new _defines.php doesn't work.

I tried already to put there:
