The slideshow is cross browser friendly so if you are having problems it is from a modification that you have made.
I would recommend retracing your steps to find out where the slider stopped working.

Ive reinstalled twice on a clean install.
Only mods ive done are the ones in your install file and changed the jpegs. I havent even renamed the jpgs or url links, just remaned my images to match yours and overwrote them.

Version 1.2 fixed slider javascript bug, added html readme file, added 3 column layout, replaced install.txt file with correct readme.txt file, resized slider images, centered slider, set twitter and facebook links to open in a new tab, fixed twitter and facebook links css bug, added home page image and text layout, added custom button to search sidebox, fixed attributes layout in ie6 and ie7, fixed many minor css bugs.

Hi,
When resizing the images in the slideshow and centering the buttons, all works Ok and looks good, however the slideshow itself is still centered and has a lot of wasted real estate either side.
How could I not only reduce the size of the images to 400x200, but also reduce the size of the whole slideshow and move it to the left or right, and hopefully free this space up for other stuff/images?

Take a look in the stylesheet at the section starting /*bof easy slider*/
adjust the width and margins, etc. of the slider to suit your needs.

thanks anne, i am working my way through the errors (although a lot of them are repeating what other files have in them).
anyways i have a different question, does the file extensions on the slides have to be a .jpg or can they be .gif? i used the .gif extensions because i was told they are smaller files. right now the images are not showing up.

When I go to your site I see the logo image used is called hempsters.logo.2.gif. If you name this image logo.jpg and follow 7 in the readme.html file you will see your logo.Quote:

Anne, I followed your instructions, both in here and the install.txt file. (I couldn't find the readme.html file you referenced). i deleted the old logos and renamed them per your instructions. when i refreshed the site, there was a different file listed under properties of the logo image. i tried finding it following the path listed under properties and i could not find it. any suggestions?

Download the latest version of the template from the free downloads section. You will see a readme directory with an html readme file. This file will have very specific step by step instructions with images and a link to a video tutorial. I can not post the links to the online version here.Quote:

have the Editable Sidebox installed.
I installed the Countdown Sidebox with Image but for some reason I can not get the "83 days to Christmas" etc.... (I assume there is supposed to be text showing the countdown).
It replaces the file from Editable Sidebox located here:
includes/languages/english/html_includes/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/define_editable_sidebox_content.php
I have the new image etc and I have adjusted the date.
Can you please shed some light on this please? Thanks.

If you read the install readme file you will see that you can only edit the define_main_page.php file with a plain text editor. Make sure that option is selected in the admin define pages editor before editing the page as it contains php code and the wysiwyg will corrupt the code.Quote:

This is what I have been trying to remove.
When I remove this, the images in the slide show disappear and I am left with white patches where the slider images are supposed to be.
Also, The demo shows that it is a 3 column display through the readme file online but the layout instructions say it is only 2 column.
Can this happen at all?

If you read the installation instructions you will see that since this page uses php code it must be edited in a plain text editor. Before editing this using the define pages editor be sure that you have selected plain text as the editor.Quote:

Look for this in the stylesheet.css:

Add
background: url(../images/yourimage.gif); to that section.
And upload the image to the /images directory for the template.

You don't need to replace the background color code if you don't want to. The background image will cover it. You may want to change the color to a shade that is similar to your background image.
That's the wrong folder for the image. It goes in includes/templates/avonlee_contempo/images
