By the way do you know how I can move the quantity discount to the top of the product description?
Thanks again!
jettrue I did what you said and it moved up but I want it a little lower about even with the bottom of the image and inline with the model number if I can do that. Thank youQuote:

I set up my site on my home machine to test but I now I need to change the domain name and site name before I upload to my site. Tutorial 99 mentions that I need ZC-install when I upload to rename databases etc, except I have already deleted ZC-Install. How can I do this?
Download zen cart again from here and find the install folder. Do it just like you did before.
I've searched Zen Cart and Cherry Zen forums, but i'm not sure exactly what i need to search *for*. I'd like to extend the number of displayed results from 10 to 20...or whatever, just more than 10. Where/how do i make this adjustment?
open up your stylesheet, find the add to cart section, and add a margin-top until it is in the right spot.

Was this for me jettrue if it was all I see in the style sheet is thisQuote:

now you said to add a margin-top until it is in the right spot. Do I add another margin: or do I change the one that is already there from auto to top. Sorry I don't understand what you are saying. Thank you for your help.Quote:

Yes, it was for you.
Try reading a css shorthand tutorial like this to help you:
http://webdesign.about.com/cs/css/qt/tipcsstrbl2.htm
For example, you could change it to:
margin:15px auto 10px;
which means 15px for the top, auto for the left and right, and 10px for the bottom.
Right now it is saying 10px for the top and bottom, and auto for left and right. The link I posted explains how it works in more detail.

Sorry guys/gals to bring this issue up again as I have pasted it under the IH2 forum. i dont't know if this post belongs here or there.
I was runing a "sage" template and installed IH2. Ater that whenever you clicked on my sample test Image I got the message/error below even though everything looks right at www.afrosupermarket.com
Meaasge or Error Displayed"
xt' => "\n " . $link); $col ++; if ($col > (IMAGES_AUTO_ADDED -1)) { $col = 0; $row ++; } } // end for loop } // endif ?>
I thought it was a template error and so I switched to "Cherry zen" template and still get the same error. I have searched the developers tool kit to where I can locate that line of code for correction.
Is it with IH2 or I need to adjust some code to avoid seeing the message displayed.
I had asked:

OK I fixed the problem by fudging the width of the sideboxbg.gif. Still curious though why the images for the sidebox titles was wider than 150px.

Hi Jade. I found the problem it was a problem on my computer. All fixed now. I do have another question though. The pop up window with the larger image doesn't hold it all and there is no scroll bar.
Is there a way to make that window open up to the right size for the image?
That's all i'll bother you with. Again, a great template!!:clap:

Hi,
I just recently installed zen cart 1.3.8 and is using the cherry zen template. I can access admin, add product and everything seems to be working fine except a few links. The Customer log in, my account, and check out link returns a page can not be displayed. I'm not sure whats going on, or where to look to solve this issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Thank you jettrue that worked out great.Quote:

Hi Jade
Got a bit of a cosmetic problem with firefox. I decided to add a table into the main page to display the majority of the content. I centered the table which looks fine in IE7 but if viewing in firefox it actually pulls the content to the left.
I used tabling as an alternative to increase the left and right margins of the content, as I did not know where to find this in the css and I thought I was going to save having to post on forum. but here I am posting :laugh:
Any help would be great. Maybe an indication as to where in the stylesheet I can change the margins.
Prior to me adding the table, the text on the main page, was to close to the sideboxes. I would much rather have the content 1-1.5 cm inward.

Okay Folks
I really need this Issue resolved: why is it that with the Cherry Zen Template, when I add products to cart and proceed to checkout screen EVERYTHING is Mushy and Jumbled up. This is my fouth post on this issue, but how hard is it for someone who knows to direct me where to Check or correct?
Are the credits on my site not Large Enough or What?
Please remember that ALL help you get on this forum in Volunteer Help so be patient.
#1 www.tropicxotic.com does not exist
#2 I see nothing wrong with the cart, I put an item in the cart and it looks good.
Your right side panel looks out of wack on the Account Creation Page, is that where your question is? I am no expert, but take a second look at your stylesheet.css and see if you can find the error. I personally don't like going from 2 side columns to one or none, but that's up to you.
Take a look at mine http://www.nativitydisplays.com/
I wish I coul dbe of more help, but that's all I got.

Thanks for your response stuff4toys. I use fckeditor which came with the latest version of zen 1.3.8a. My table width is set to 700px.
I just tried setting the table width to 540px as suggested but that didn't change the position of the table in firefox as i didn't think that it would. It just made the table smaller.
ok. after having another look, it appeared that I had not centred the table properly in the editor which I thought that I had. in anycase all fixed now.
Thanks for your help
Your text still runs half way into your right column in FF3 in Ubuntu Linux.
That's weird, here's my table:

I use window FF 3.0.3 and windows IE 7. They look ok in those 2. I will change to your settings to see what it looks like in the 2 that I use and get back to you. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately (ignorance is bliss) i dont have any of the others browsers.

Buyaka.
All of your questions are answered in the Tutorials and FAQ's and the Owners Manual that you can purchase online.
In the Admin go to Configuration click on Layout SettingsQuote:
Right below the header text,

Near the bottom set "Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF" to OFF
That again is discussed in the Tutorials and FAQ's. The gray box is caused by creating "EZ-Pages, search the tutorials for EZ-Pages.Quote:

Sure I ask a few questions from time to time, but most of the answers to your questions can be found by searching this site.

absolutely silly first question, but I couldn't find the answer in the search feature - so no laughing...
When uploading the includes file to my site, do I overwrite the original includes file that is there or do I upload it INTO my preexisting includes file?
this is my first time working with Zen - help a newbie.
Thanks
well I just went and uploaded everyhting one at a time and it seems to be working except for one thing - my right side sideboxes will not show up. The space for them is there and I have done all the proper procedures to put them there, but they simply do not visuallly appear on the right hand side. Left works perfectly.
any hints?
edit: take alook: www.quasarfinance.com
Ok made i made the changes and as far as the browsers go, everything looks to be fine on the 2 that I use, except now I am back to square one where the text is too close to the sideboxes, for my liking. This was the whole reason I used the table for my text so that I could have the text (main content) further away from the edge of the sideboxes.
There must be somewhere in the css where i can change where the text is positioned in the main content, If i can find this then make the necessary changes, then I can eliminate the table altogether. If someone knows where it is, can you please point me in the right direction.
TIA for any help and thanks to those who have already helped!! :smile:
Is there a way I can add a dividing line between each product listing, or maybe alternate background shading?
Here is a link:
http://www.newoldsounds.com/index.ph...ex&cPath=46_49
It seems somewhat difficult to read because it's all white behind the products.
Thanks,
Tim
Ok I have 2 questions and they may have been mentioned before but I am not searching 207 pages to find it.
I know this template was designed as a floating template but how do you go about making it fit all the way across the screen?
Second question the product decription is nw below the product where it was next to the product in the original template is there and easy way to fix this or would it be better left alone?
Examples:
below product
next to product
I put my test site (using Cherry Zen template - thanks for it) through the W3C Validator and the only issue was the 'type' of the search box at the top.
The search box is of type "search" but that is not a permitted type.
If I change includes/functions/extra_functions/search_field_header.php to change the $type parameter of zen_draw_search_field() to 'text' then all is okay.

Your entire issue is that you changed the sidebox widths to 170px and didn't make the changes in the stylesheet for the right sideboxes, though you did make the correct changes for the left sideboxes. Change the two instances of 150px below to 170px.
.outer {
padding-left: 185px; /* Same width as margin-left for the float-wrap div */
padding-right: 150px; /* Our right column width */
}
#navColumnTwo {
float: right;
margin-right: -150px; /* This negative margin-right value is in this example the same as the right column width. */
position: relative; /* IE needs this */
}
Change this:
to this:Code:#nw {
width:80%; /* main site width; if you'd prefer a fixed width site, enter the width in px here. */
max-width:1300px; /* prevents the main content from getting wider than 1300px in sites other than IE */
min-width:1000px; /* this prevents the main content from getting smaller than 1000px in browsers OTHER THAN IE. You can make this as small as 800px, BUT any smaller than that, and the top header menu will break into two lines. Also, if you make this width 800px, you will need to make sure your product image on the product info page is no wider than 190px */
}
/* IE only. Controls Width of Site and Main Content*/
* html #nw {
width:expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "1300px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "80%" : d.clientWidth < 1048? "1000px" : "80%")); /* this prevents the site from getting smaller than 1000px or wider than 1300px in IE */
}
/* end IE only */
If you prefer the original zen cart product page styling, simply delete includes/templates/cherry_zen/templates/tpl_product_info_display.phpCode:#nw {
width:100%;
}
Thanks for doing this, I think I'll include this adjustment in my next template update, though actually they should use this instead (this way if they turn lightbox status to OFF, they'll still get the shadow box around the image).

No worries ,

Hi again
I am rehashing the template a little. I have decided to make it a fixed width of 950px rather than a fluid width as I want to replace the logo with a 950px wide header. I figured I can't do this if the website is fluid width, without it looking silly.
I would also like to move the product attributes to below the product description
I have figured out how to change the width of the site, with the help of the read_me file but If anyone can help me in regard to moving the attributes, that would be great. I just need to know what parts of the css i need to change and what to change it to.
I am assuming that I need to change something in the below
#productAttributes {
width:100%;
float:left;
border:1px solid #bfbfbf;
padding-left:5px;
margin:5px 0 0 10px;
TIA
I would look in the tpl_product_info_display.php file it is very well laid out with comments around every section , you can literally just pick up a section and move it under another one.
I moved it around quite alot on my site and it was very easy.
I believe Jettrue has laid it out so there is a left column a right column then a full width section under that. ( that is how I read the code anyway ) so you can place each section where you require it.
You can then use that bit of CSS to change the size and padding if you need to.
PHP Code:
<!--bof Attributes Module -->
<?php
if ($pr_attr->fields['total'] > 0) {
?>
<?php
/**
* display the product atributes
*/
require($template->get_template_dir('/tpl_modules_attributes.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'templates'). '/tpl_modules_attributes.php'); ?>
<?php
}
?>
<!--eof Attributes Module -->
Thats the section you can move around.
Have fun

Hi There have searched many pages but not able to find solutiono here goes
when i view a category all items in that category have the quantity and manufacturer to the left of the image and all other details below. also when i view an item the desciption is at the bottom of the page. i wouls like this to be to the right of the image or just below the image
here is the links for my problems here and here
:frusty::frusty:
For the page will all category products, try adjusting the order of where the manufacturer goes in your admin under "configuration", "product listing" in your admin. Try to move the manufacturer name lower by giving it a higher number for the sort order.
For the product page, either open up includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php and move the description section up, OR simply delete that file so zen cart uses the default zen cart way of showing the product.

I have triple checked my config. files in both and have the www site names correct in both.
Please help
Thanks for that Jade. crazycucumber told me where to look.
I moved it, looked terrible so moved it back. What I really need to do is to figure out (if at all possible) how to add notations/text without using the attributes. These notations are applicable to all products that I have. I would prefer this common text to be built into the template file so that when I add a product, that information will automatically show-up on the product info page without me having to add it some other way
At present these common notations are listed as read-only attributes which make my products info pages very messy. If I cannot add these notations into the core template, then I will have to totally rehash the tpl_product_info_display.php.
I am not really php code savey so I don't know if I can add html in the tpl_product_info_display.php (or if this is even the appropriate file I should be looking at) without breaking something.
Your thoughts/help would be appreciated and thank you jade.
Hi, firstly i would just like to say thank you for your templates, i was using the apple zen before this one and i love them both!
Just wanted to aska qucik question, i was wanting to modify the header and sideboix graphics to my own custom made ones, just wondered how i would go about doing this, an example of what i would like to do is on this website, i seen it a few pages back...
http://www.affixit.co.uk
...See how his header bar and sidebox bars are different? Anyone be able to tell me how to do this?
Thanks
Shaun
That looks like they just replaced the standard 1px wide header background image with their own image and changed the settings in the stylesheet.css.

The side box images are similar.

Hi, sorry to sound dumb, but what sort of changed would i need to make to the stylesheet, ive already made the images that i want to use.
thanks for your swift reply
If its going to be "EXACTLY" the same text for every product, then sure, you can add it to tpl_product_info_display.php
something like this:
<!-- bof product info text for all products -->
<?php echo '<div id="productInfoText">Text goes here</div>' ?>
<!-- eof product info text for all products-->
would work. :smile:
Thanks so much Jade - Worked very well, now the product pages don't look so messy :clap::smile:
Thanks for the great template, very customizable...
I am running into a few problems and I am sorting them out, right now I am trying to center the logo and text. I tried following what you have here: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=125
But I see there is a #logo section which didn't have the information you described there would be, I scrolled down and found the rest, kinda confusing. Not sure what to change exactly since there is already a text-aligned:center;
was able to center it somewhat, but not sure why there is space in front of the logo now, and its all the way to the right side of the header.
Any help is appreciated :)
also, how do I put the description of an item right next to the picture, instead of way below it
And yet, another question...how do I change the default maintenance graphic?
sorry for all the questions, I tried looking through the forums for these but I was unable to find any solutions.
Lets say I have "Fruit Jar Candles"
they are the same price, but different scent, how do I do this? I don't see the option when I list a new product, also how can I have it list the "item #" rather than "model"
alsol, how do I add more than one pic for a product?
Hi,
I have recently installed Cherry Zen to my store and all seems fine except for my Shipping and Returns page. When you click on it and it displays, the fonts in the sideboxes are all increased in size. Can anyone help?
My website is http://parrotpants.com.au
TIA!
The default graphic is /includes/templates/template_default/images/down_for_maintenance.gif
Create your own in /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/down_for_maintenance.gif
Edit /includes/templates/cherry_zen/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php
The sections have comments showing where they start and end. Move these blocks around to experiment with the layout you want. You may need to modify stylesheet.css too.
this is how far I've gotten http://themccormickshop.com/index.ph...&products_id=1
Id like to make the description box a little bigger and not as small as it is now, any ideas?
sorry bout that,thats fixed now
