Also - does anyone have an install over IH2 that has the zoom function working?
I just uninstalled the easy rollover add-on, and the broken image problem has gone away but nothing happens when I mouse over the image. I have all the options in the Admin > Config > Images set to enable the image zoom, but nothing.
Problem is, I'm not even sure what it is I'm supposed to be seeing! What does the 'zoom' thing do, exactly?

Could somebody take a look at my test site and let me know what I have done wrong? The web address is: www.swiker.com/zentest - username/password is test (for both). I have IH2 installed along with HoverBox3. The little + symbol shows up next to images but they never enlarge. The product page for each product has HoverBox3 working perfect.
Is there something I am missing in the HB2 setup?

OK, well the flickering image thing was worked out - I had to move the .js files to the custom template.
However, when I mouse over the images, I'm not getting that zoom function. I have all the zoom flags set to YES under Config > Images. My server uses GD - what else could I be missing?

That was all I needed to do. For some reason the jscript folder wasn't in the MYTEMPLATE folder ... so when I renamed MYTEMPLATE to cherry_zen it never got uploaded. I've installed IH2 + it works fine with FireFox. When I opened it with IE, my NEW PRODUCTS scrolling sidebox's images were scattered down lower + not being inside the sidebox.
Do guys have solutions on this regarding the IE issue?
Currently, I have deactivated the mode until it is solved.

Don't know if this belongs in the Image Handler 2 thread or the easy rollovers thread, so I'll post it in both - not crossposting strictly speaking, as it's a compatibility issue with one or both of them... it really could be argued either way.
When you install the \includes\extra_datafiles\rollover_class_settings.php , it overrides IH2 classes and tries to turn all images into rollover class. Why it thinks images are buttons, I don't know. However when you mouse over them, you get a broken link as it's looking for '_over' image file versions in bmzcache, where of course they don't exist.
The only workaround I can think of is to not install rollover_class_settings.php, and specify individually which buttons have the rollover class. My website is pretty minimal so that's not such a huge pain, but I'm sure there must be a better idea.
Anyone have IH2 and Easy Rollovers installed together? Any ideas?

I have just installed IH2 on ZC 138. I can get to the Menu's in Admin and have uploaded a couple of test photos. There is no "+" on the Main page images, and on the product page, the "+" is there, but no hover. When I click the photo, the default ZC popup appears. The javascript file is in my "templates_default...", but NOT in the "MYTEMPLATE" (theme022) folder. Reading the thread, is something missing, or is the sizing off?

Ok, I've installed IH on my store, never used it before, but it's causing issues that I've never had on previous store, so I want to totally uninstall it. I removed it through zen-cart admin, but I want all associated files back to normal. What's the easiest way to do this?

I'm not Misty but I can answer that one ... it should be in your template css folder. It's not needed in the other template css folders unless you switch templates.
Also, the /jscript/jscript_imagehover.js needs to be in your theme022 folder.
I would think you already did uninstall the easiest way. However, the following files are what was transfered to the server to make IH2 work. I suppose you would just remove them. I would suggest you actually transfer them back into a folder on your desktop (named something like IH2_backup). Then if ome of them was actually needed it can be easiely transfered back.Quote:

There are 5 additional files that were uploaded. However, I looked at my site, which doesn't have and never had, Image Hander and these 5 files are listed. Therefore, I wouldn't remove them. If you do, you might run into trouble. These files are:
/includes/modules/pages/popup_image/header_php.phpIf you do remove them, I would suggest make a note of them and re-upload them from a backup you did before installing Image Hander. This way you are certain they are back to original state from before the install of IH.

Just a final thought, I see you are using and customizing the classic theme that comes with Zen Cart. You might want to look into the Overrides system. If you fully customize the classic theme then upgrade, you will lose all your customizations.

Yes that is exactly how it should be copied. I personally think the file structure for the /template/ part of the download is confusing. It should have 1 folder and it should be called /MYTEMPLATE/ and it should contain all that stuff that's needed in a person's template folder. A user would only need to rename /MYTEMLATE/ to their own template. This is how it's done on all the other downloads. Anyway ... I see it's working for you now. Good job.
The IH2 is making your images on your main page bigger from 100x75 to 150x112. However, I personally don't know how to make the images bigger. I would suspect if you adjust the settings in Admin -> Images to something bigger then the 150x112 then it would show bigger with the IH mouseover.

IH2 is generating same file size for all three levels (SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE).
Do you know what could be wrong?
I am working on shop with some other contributions already installed, especially "dual_pricing__wholesale_pricing_1-3-2" and "categories_menu_yahootreemenu_with_ajax_0-9" (cannot show you shop right now), but if I try IH2 on clean new installation of ZC, it all works fine.
I have set bmz_cache folder to 777, I am uploading file with non-problem filename (test.jpg).

The installation went ok, and the admin menu is showing, all looking good there.
I copied files, but have not "merged" any template files, cannot figure out which need it.
At first, I saw no mouseover popup of the images at all.
What I find now is that the mousover hover popup image is only displayed on the Categories pages:

and only when the cursor is hovered over the category image with a (+) by it

I have seen some sites using the IH2 mod, and it's SO SLICK, i hope to get it working on gotEdges.com!

IH2 is behaving properly.
The folders in bmz-cache are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, a, b, c, d, etc.
However, in the original release there is only .keep.
Out of curiosity, I wanted to know how this becomes the folders in bmz.

IH2 creates the directories itself when you install the module in the admin.

Hello,
We've been using Image Handler without problem in one site and are now trying to implement it in a second. This is causing more trouble though, as it's a custom setup, carried over from the previous, non-ZC setup.
On a category page we display thumbnails (small) of all products in a scrollbar, when you click on one, a layer pops up with help of ajax, showing product info and the medium size image. When clicking on this image, the large one shows in a lightbox layer. Using standard ZC, this wouldn't be so hard as we'd upload images into images/, images/medium/ and images/large/. But we don't know how to call the various sizes from the Image Handler cache and would love if someone could help us! We've searched the forum and this thread, but it's a mile long so we might have missed something - if so, sorry!
SMALL - in includes/modules/product_listing.php we've got the $output_product[] variable which loops through the images we use for thumbnails. At the moment, we've got:

MEDIUM - in a custom template we call the medium sized image. We've tried $products_image_medium but don't seem to get the IH medium image.. we'd like to show the cached medium version.
LARGE - we've tried to implement the pop-up on the medium image, to display the large in a lightbox-layer, something like:

Image Handler is resizing my images however the code is always giving the images the width and height I set in the Zen admin for small image width and height.
Please see the code below which is for my main product image on the product info page:
As you can see it should be setting the width to 210 and the height to 198. I have installed IH2 on my server. I have had this mod installed on other installations in the past but without any issues. When I have installed previously I saw a little transparent + over the images which indicated it was working, also the size of the image being served was around 5KB.
I installed image handler 2 and the images are still being transfered at sizes around 100KB. Its killing the site. The source of the image files being served are not coming from BMZ_CACHE, but from my images folder.
The BMZ_CACHE folder is set to CHMOD 777, so no permission issues there. Im stumped:frusty:
I uninstalled and reinstalled image handler, and I am still not resizing images. The safe mode is off, gd 2+ enabled, php5 and mysql5 fine, the watermarking is not working.
The source of the files (in the html when page is loaded) is in the /images directory. when Im in the back end the image handler preview page all 3 jpg images (source, default, product) are the same huge size.
The BMZ and shopad directories are CHMOD to 777 the only contents of the BMZ directory are empty directories and a couple pngs that are associated with the preview section of the Image handler backend.
I have read dozens and dozens of pages of the forums, but have not stumbled on a solution. Little help? Thanks

Image handler will sometimes choke on large images as the script will timeout before it can process the image to the smaller versions and write them to the bmz cache. Best to goto the smallest (filesize) large image you can get. Though image handler shouldn't choke on a 100k file, unless the site is on a crowded server, its normally the over 1meg images it doesn't like.
Ok.. I've read around the 200 pages here and still not found the answers.
I've 2 problems.
First an old one, when adding a new big image after the standard image i get an error and the image is not added:

By some products I can see the big image and by others not.
The biggest diverense is that the images what are shown are from the bmz-cache the images not shown are directly.

Hi, I've installed IH2 on Zencart 1.38
My development Webserver is in Windows
The problem I'm having is when I go to Admin > Tools > Image handler > manager and browse to any product with images, The images shown in Default , Medium and Large Size just show an X, don't show the actual image
Also when I go to Admin > Tools > Image handler > Preview it also shows a RED X on each image instead of vthe actual image
the images that I'm loading don't have any "_"
I've attached a picture of the Preview screen
Have anyone experienced this before?
I'll appreciate any help

My web host installed IH2 for me and it seems to be absolutely fine.
The only question I have is how to alter the size of the pop up image.
The image default is set on small, but when you hoover for pop up, the image doesn't come up that much bigger, so almost pointless. Anyone know how I change this?

You should be able to alter the large (popup) size in the admin, under configuration > images, down at the bottom:
IH large image maximum width
IH large image maximum height

ooo. I found out why I had that problem now.... I first image that I had uploaded was some like imagename+1.jpg. once I had removed the +1 from the first image name, everything works fine again... I hope this will help.Quote:

Hi I am new to Zen Cart and just installed Image Handler 2. If I upload a single large image (174x102) using the old method under Categories/Products will this product auto resize the image to a small, medium and large size? I just tried that and when I go into Tools/Image Handler it shows the file size as 52KB for all three images?

OK I think it is working now. It seems that if an image already existed on the server and I copied the image up a 2nd time then IH did not do it's resize magic even if I deleted the image prior to copying it up to the server the 2nd time. If I copy up a new image name in the category/product section it works great.
I did find one new problem. I have 2 products that now have multiple images listed for them. I never copied up an extra image for any of my products. In both cases the extra images have a similar name. For example I have a product with the image file myrug1.jpg that I attached using the category/product section. This product now has 6 images attached (myrug100a.jpg, myrug101a.jpg etc). How did this happen? Also how do I get rid of them? I started to delete the extra images in Image Handler but found out it also deleted the image associated with the correct product. Now those products do not have an image.

I am moving to a new virtual server and cant get IH2 to install. I install a fresh load of ZC 1.3.8 and then IM2 1.3.x and copy all default mods from contribution. I get a blank page from both admin and home.
If I remove functions_bmz_image_handler.php admin will come up, of course IH2 won't work, but thought it might help point out problem area.
The new env has the following: PHP 5.0.4 GD 2.0.28

Imagehandler is fantastic. But I would like the nice javascript hover. I've set everything to 'yes' in the config/images for IH but still doesn't seem to be working.
I have a page that has worked fine until this morning. This product Category page, is BLANK. It displays no products as of this morning. I am told it may be an Image Handler problem, maybe trying to load a large file. But, I don;t see any large (larger then 1MB, most are less then 100k, largest is about 125k).
Products are in Admin. Also, if I add a product, it does not display in this category. All other products displaying in other categories.
Also, how tdo I disable IH 2.0 just to see if it may be the culprit? I don't see a disable feature in the IH Manager. The problematic link is below. Any ideas MOST APPRECIATED.

In admin go to IH Manager and do the uninstall function. You can easily re-install by going back and clicking install. Try that to see if it helps - no guarantee, just a guess!Quote:

I see "Remove Image Handler from database". Is this same as Remove? I'm a bit shaky on removing this as the risk of removing/deleting all images I've installed via IH.
I have been using the normal zc image style. _MED & _LRG. I installed IH2 about 2 months ago and I love it. No more making diff sizes and dealing with all that headache.
Today I decided to shrink down my image dir to save server space. Downloaded my image dir, batched all large and medium to remove the _med and _lrg.
Moved all of the "used to be _med's" into my (local) images dir to overwrite the smaller ones and then again with the "used to be _lrg's".
Now I have one dir /images/ with all of my largest images there. So there isn't an images/large or images/medium now. Just /images/.
I uploaded the new images directory to the server and gave the old one a different name so it wouldn't be used but I still have the backup. Now it seems like it's working but. . .
Why do the medium and large images break when I go to admin --> images and remove the _LRG and _MED from where it says large image directory and medium image directory?
Shouldn't that work? Doesn't IH2 know what to do? Should I go to admin-->tools-->image handler2-->admin and clear the Image Cache?
If I'm just way off please explain how this transition should be made.

I'm really not sure what will happen when you uninstall this mod since you have used it to bring in new images. If you don't get a solid answer as soon as you would like, I would recommend a full DB backup and then uninstall it. If it totally breaks install your back up.
Let us know what you decide and what the outcome is please.

After clearing/deleting the cache then click the link to "install Image Handler".

I go to admin>images and remove the "_LRG" and "_MED" for the large and medium image extensions and it breaks every image that isn't small.
I don't get it. I mean image handler isn't using the extensions and I don't have any images now that have the extensions in their name. It's not broken if I just leave it alone but I really want to know why this is happening.

Hi -
For some reason the hover feature is not working. I have double checked the installation and configuration. I set the image sizes to the same size for small Image, Image - Product New Listing Width, etc (as per a previous post). I do see the watermark indicating "pop-up-ability" but I get no pop. :) IE complains that pages are done loading with errors, and Firefox just happliy ignores.
I suspect the Javascript - but if others are not having an issue then it to something I have missed?
