I installed the plugin to my site and also added the SQL to it as well after i installed i get this

Strange but there is no default language to work... That may not happen, just in case...v_products_model,v_products_image,v_specials_price,v_specials_last_modifi ed,v_specials_expires_date,v_products_price,v_products_weight,v_last_modified,v_ date_added,v_pro

An SQL error has occured. Please check your input data for tabs within fields and delete these. If this error continues, please forward your error log to the Easy Populate maintainer.

I have the latest and current sql server everything is working properly on my server side but apparently there is a flaw in the SQL coding or it is not compatible with the latest zencart version. i really would like this on my site due to it will save me time and effort uploading products to website.

I am having problems with loading the sql file I get the error 'WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.' The log files are;

I have installed this in to the same template on the same zencart version to another site with no problems.

Differences in php version between the two sites? mysql_ queries are no longer supported in PHP5.4+.

I do not understand, I have just checked & my PHP is set at v5.5. Would be an idea for me to upgrade to v5.6 then back down?

The issue is that the install.sql is using "blind inserts" (i.e. not supplying the field names along with the values). adb34 has apparently installed one of the numinix plugins on the site that's not working (which adds a field to the configuration table, making the count mismatch).

I see what you are saying. How can I find which numinix plugin is causing this problem?

Intent of the question was to identify what the difference in php versions was between one site and the other assuming that both sites were not hosted under the same host as neither condition was specifically identified. (both sites hosted in the same space or different spaces though specifically doesn't matter which configuration as php version depending on host setup could be different for each site)

It's not necessarily that numinix software is causing the problem. It's that the sql is incorrectly formatted for any condition other than a brand new installation of ZC without modifications to the tables that are made by numinix software...

The sql needs to be in the format:

If the sql is in someway in the code... The portion: SB_PREFIXtablenmae ought to already be properly formatted, it is the remaining portion that does the blind insert described by lat9.

It's not the numinix plugin that is causing the problem, it's the improperly coded install.sql file. See http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...tall-sql-files for more information.

I may have a problem with my database. I have tried to load another script for another plugin, 'editable_centerboxes' and that too this throwing up the the message 'WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.'

Out of all of this what I do not understand is that; I have already put this plugin into another website and I had no problems at all. I used the same ISP, zencart version, PHP version. I have said earlier I have similar problems with other plugins and again no problems with my test site. Do I have a problem with my SQL database?

Yeah, sure, why not use a version of EasyPopulate that has already been written/rewritten to support ZC 1.5.3 and above? What is it about this version which hasn't been maintained that warrants it being upgraded over a version that has had continued support? (http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...Support-Thread)

Or could just basically copy the code from that version and revive this one... Not sure why that would be desired...

Comes down to there is more to converting functionality from mysql_ to mysqli_ than adding a letter or even adding the remaining parameter(s). For correct usage of the applicable mysqli_ functions, may I suggest performing an internet search on any of the above functions and looking over examples provided in the results as well as looking at the documentation between php versions to see the recommended actions to take to address the changes in version?

And you're 100% sure that ly have the above version of EP installed and not some other in both stores? Care to provide a screen shot of the one that is working taking out any indication of your actual admin path? Say even a section that is "unique" to this version of EP?

I can't figure out what easy populates are what. I did the upgrade 1.5.1 to 1.5.4. I don't care which one I use - at this point I just have to get this working again.

So this is supposed to be dead and we are going forward with 4? Switching versions can cause what problems? I don't see 4 has been uploaded to the zen cart plugins yet. You still working only out of github?

In order to comply with the requirements of plugin submission, a set of instructions remains required. So, yes still working out of github as identified on the first post of the above thread, answering questions related to that version at that thread.

To my knowledge I don't know of a conflict, though if database has been upgraded, may want (if able) to uninstall the old version or at least replicate the actions.

Would help to know where at in the process of trying to resolve the above issues problems are seen. What is known, what is not, what results are occurring, why still trying to get this version to work when a version already does that provides similar/the same functionality.

Hello, great plugin and thanks for the continued support of the new builds.

I would just like to confirm whether the latest Easy Populate CSV Version: 1.2.6 is compatible with old PHP 5.3 & Zen-cart 1.5.4? Noticed it's tested with php 5.4.35, just stuck trying to push my host to upgrade php at the moment as 5.3 is so old now and end of life. Seems 5.3 has more and more compatibly problems with newer plugins lately.

As soon as I click the "Please install your configuration by clicking here" it dumps me out of the site to a http 500 blank page. Have followed through the install notes again to double check, even tried to import the install_sql for troubleshooting but that wont import too, errors straight away.

Easy Populate V4 is the way to go these days. The only thing I don't really like about it as that it uses CSV as the default filetype. Tab-delimited is a far better filetype.

However, if you use EP v.4 in conjunction with OpenOffice (rather than MS Excel) the CSV " delimiter is not so challenging an issue.

Easy Populate V4 is the way to go these days. The only thing I don't really like about it as that it uses CSV as the default filetype. Tab-delimited is a far better filetype.

However, if you use EP v.4 in conjunction with OpenOffice (rather than MS Excel) the CSV " delimiter is not so challenging an issue.

Do any of the EP variants handle multiple attribute option types? Documentation seems sparse.

Requiring OO instead of MS Excel is a show stopper. It is difficult to tell people "if you are editing "THIS FILE", you must use OO and if you are editing anything else in the business, you must use MS Excel"

I have done a search for Easy Populate V4 and have 10 finds, nothing labelled Easy Populate V4. I have found one 'Easy Populate CSV' which I think is this one. anyway. it says you This will allow someone to add custom fields from the, configuration menu Configuration->Easy Populate->Custom Fields, no mine goes into tools/easy populate.

Am I missing something?
Am I installing the right one?
I would like to remove all traces of easy populate, any type that is installed.

Currently running Zencart 1.5.4, just installed easy_populate_csv_for_zencart_v1.5.x_v1.2.6.
Everything is working and all the options download or create the files in the tempEP directory with the exception of the
Download Complete .csv file to edit (Attributes Not Included) and the Create Complete .csv file in temp dir (Attributes Not Included)
Them I get the error WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again. Has anyone seen this and know the fix for it.

HI,

Just got to the bottom of this problem. It is all to do with the custom fields that are built into the script. If you dont have custom fields then it generates the SQL incorrectly and you get the error message. You will need to edit the easypopulate.php file that sits in the admin root directory. Around line 560 is where the problem starts.

I dont use custom fields and dont plan to do so, so i have simply removed the following from the SQL
".$custom_filelayout_sql." on line 599 - 601. Ensure you remove the 2 quotes aswell as everything in between. Savethefile and re-upload.

If you want to use custom fields then this will not be the solution for you but atleast it has identified the problem so hopefully it will help

2. Next, go to the Zen-Cart Store (https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=868) and download the update and install that.

Is that correct?

Two separate programs. Whle some still use (try to use) this version, others have migrated to EP4...

Let the cycle begin again. Please read back a couple of pages, this has already been identified, addressed, and resolved in one or more ways. For some it is to use a different version of the code, for others to apply patches without actually fixing the code for those that try to install it.

In answer, effectively the database management code change required to support PHP 5.4 and above that started in ZC 1.5.2 s what happened. From there other changes made to the core/default coding affected what had to be done for plugins such as this.

ok, absolute new to all this, i am wiling to pay someone to install easy populate on my zen cart, i simply do not want to have to manually upload each item individually, yes i have looked at videos etc... on how to do it ive tried but to be honest i dont have a bloody clue.

Mine go rough fine with out any errors but they are no products in the category even though the counter shows
the number of products uploaded next to it.

I had similar problems and I reinstalled only to find it did the same thing, I currently have twichto working on mine to connect a live feed which I will worll work better for me,
Iwill post it back here when all is working and know what you need to do.

I am using easy populate 1.2.5.4, it work ok, but .... but ...
I am using sales maker too,

Now have a big problems there.
For example, I have a product model id is AA001, where it post to catogies #899 (10% price cut by sales maker)
Where it have link to catgories id #11, #567, #899

And the is, while I am using sales maker to make the products price cut, for example, on catgories id #11 give it 50%, #899 give it 10%

One I am using easy populate upload some new product, then run "tool" -> "store manager" -> "reset master catgories id" to fix it search by id (AA001 there on this example)

Ok, but once I am run this "store manager" -> "reset master catgories id", AA001's catgories id will from #899 (10% price cut by sales maker), changed to #11 (50% price cut by sales maker)...

So, now AA001's price is wrong (Since I am using sales maker to control the catgories price)

How to fix this? if I am not run "store manager" -> "reset master catgories id", the AA001 can't be search by both front end and back end .....

I brought a new template and upgraded my site to zencart 1.5.4 all categories and products are displaying correctly.
I have installed the latest version of easy populate. I can export fine, but when I import I am getting an error PHP Fatal error: 1062uplicate entry '1369-1'.
I believe the cause is when I upgraded my site and brought it over to the new database it is being looked at as a duplicate or something.
Can someone assist me or lead me the right direction in solving this issue.

Clean install 1.54 of most recent EasyPopulate 1.2.6.1 released Oct 21, 2015 results in this error:

PHP Fatal error: 1062:Duplicate entry '1-1' for key 'PRIMARY' :: INSERT INTO products_description SET

out of the box.

Problem...
The original code here is saying, if you find products_description - INSERT INTO the database if not UPDATE the database. This assumes that it's a new product and attempts to insert the same data into the same fields with the INSERT INTO command.

Solution...
Switch the INSERT INTO code with the UPDATE code and if it finds a match it will UPDATE the data, if not it assumes it's a new product and INSERT INTO the database.

In admin/easypopulate.php replace this line 1954 - 2046 :

I have tested this by manipulating the .csv file imported as well as making changes from the admin to break it, so far no errors!

Test Conditions:
- existing product
- new product
- update existing product
- remove product

Note: From what I could see EP doesn't delete or manage products that have been removed from the database essentially it does not perform a 'sync' only import and export.

Hi, Can I use this EP to get products from a 1.3.9h store and populate to a 1.5 store?

Any one with this? Is rather urgent

That being said, if you were to export the fields of 1.39 using a compatible version for 1.39 then import the file into 1.54 using the newest compatible version for 1.54... there is no reason it wouldn't work.

Now, this assumes something simple like products to products transfer. If you have a loaded up 1.39 with modules and custom coding... you'll need to match that to some degree in 1.54.

Or contact someone that knows how to do ^ named Twitch ;-)

I believe this error is a php upgrade without gd extension. You can remove this error by simply deleting out of tempep the filelist and index

This will remove the cute list at bottom of screen of old iuploads but I am not sure what value that list had to begin with.

Hope this helps as I just got this yesterday and it was due to server/php upgrade. This applies to any ep using these files as the original ep was built a long long time ago.

Obviously you could install that extension to get it to list the files on there but I don't believe gd is bundled anymore thus the issue will repeat itself

I just upgraded to 1.5X and went to reinstall this plug in. When i did I got this error at the top of the screen. How do i correct?

Warning Easy Populate uploads folder not found!
NIX SERVERS: Your uploads folder is either missing, or you have altered the name and/or directory of your uploads folder without configuring this in Easy Populate.
WINDOWS SERVERS: Please request your web host to assign write permissions to the uploads folder. This is usually granted through Windows server user account IUSR_COMPUTERNAME.

'Folder not found' - Looks like the original tempEP folder is missing in the root directory. Or has the wrong name or wrong permissions.

Be sure to upload the original again and check that it's going to the correct location on your server.

Where should it be located? in the Store Root or in the YOUR_ADMIN folder?

I am trying to install the Easy Populate plugin. It shows up in the menu, but if I try to install it, or do anything at all, I get this:
"WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again." Refreshing does nothing.

At the top of the page is:
"Easy Populate Configuration Missing. Please install your configuration by clicking here"
Clicking here gives the same warning.

OK, I am really hoping someone can help. I have scoured threads and can't find exactly what I am looking for. I am using EZ populate csv with zencart 1.5.1 and I have installed it. I have opened in excel and put in my information as a test. The strange thing is, the model, manufacturer, and other information seems to work fine, EXCEPT only two fields: the "name" and "description" do not work. I don't get it. I have tried several ways and it all works except those two fields, so naturally, I see the categories and I click on it and there are no products on my site. (This is a brand new site just installed to test this ez popluate. ) Does anyone have any ideas? I am going crazy trying to figure this out.

It looks like no one has been monitoring this forum, but hopefully someone can help ?
I last did an EP on my site in early 2015 using several CSV files, including a one-liner. Yesterday I decided to use it again to add 35 items to my store, but no matter what CSV file I use ... even tried the old ones from 2015, I get this error on a new screen, across different browsers too ... and I also restarted the PC in case it was a browser cache problem. The message below is from using Firefox.

Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /shop/zcAdmin/easypopulate.php could not be found on this server.
Additionally, a 406 Not Acceptable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The message is somewhat different on Edge, which tells me it's not a message from EP ?
So I just went and installed the latest version of EP_CSV, but get the same error/message.

ANyone have an idea what is wrong ? Thanks !!

All of the files that operate Easy Populate aren't on the server. This means it can install parts of the program until it reaches the missing files and stops.

Are you starting with a completely blank cart and trying to use EP to import a new spreadsheet full of products and categories

or

Do you already have products and cats in the cart and you're using EP to export then re-import to test?

The message states the file is missing on the server. Chances are it's either not on the server or not in the correct location. Double check that the files are actually on the server.

If by the file you mean easypopulate.php, it's there because I can invoke it and I see the EP screen. It's when I try to invoke it to process a csv file that it gives me the NOT ACCEPTABLE error, whether I ask it to use a csv file already in the tempEP folder, or one I ask it to fetch from my PC (which it then stores in the tempEP folder. At first I thought it was a permissions problem with tempEP but it is set to 777.

Any other ideas ? Thanks.

I am running 1.5.5
I have successfully uploaded many products using Easypopulate.

I first created one item with all the attributes/options needed.
The exported list of options for this item is 98 lines long.
I changed the model number to one that needs the options loaded.
After I uploaded the attributes/options for this item it give me the message that the file was imported
But none of the attributes/options are displaying on the item
I have tried both Basic and Complete versions of the attributes file downloads as the basis for my uploads.

Any suggestions please!

These are the same for about 2000 of my items
I really don't want to have to Key these in manually.

Load up EasyPopulate V 4. It does not overwrite the 1.2.5.6 files, so remove these manually.

Takes 5 minutes, and V4 is MUCH better...

The older Langer version is far too out-of-date.

Just install V4.

Why isn't the products_id exported to the csv file? I know I can add it through the custom fields option, is there any reason I should not if I want that information?

There are multiple "variations" to the EasyPopulate concept. Each plugin as listed in the plugins section has a latest version. The "age" of that latest update may provide an indication of usability to various ZC versions, but is not a guarantee that it won't work with more recent versions. Some software is/can be written to survive many versions without modification just by the nature of how it operates/interrelates.

As far as installation, each plugin should have its own install instructions. Historically EasyPopulate related code doesn't require any site (file) modifications in order to install/operate. But the functionality offered by the plugin is what is traditionally different between the versions. They all seem to support some form of use of a "csv" file, though programs such as Excel generate a csv different than that of say Open Office. The difference can be significant when the plugin tries to read the file and import the data to the database. Basically it's like the difference of saving a file where the words all become capitalized in one version and maintain their capitalization in another, the end result is that the data "looks" different in the database when loaded from one file version versus the other.

So, if having difficulty "installing" the plugin, the suggestion would be to go to the thread related to that plugin and post what has been done, what has been attempted, what worked, what didn't etc, any errors logged in the applicable logging area, versions, etc... idea being that the issue should be reproducible for it to be considered a problem with the program otherwise there is something else causing the problem. :)

I am setting up a new website for ink cartridges and have been sent some csv files from them. I have taken the CSV files and prepped them ready to import. I then imported them and everything worked fine.

Upon looking at the products I realised in the description of the product it never specified which cartridges were compatible with which printers so I re-edited the CSV file so that the description cells were empty, I cleared the store products and re imported, again everything worked fine and the description for each product was empty in the store.

I then took another CSV file that had all the relevant info I needed in regards to product description. I made the CSV file 2 columns long with the v_products_model field and the v_products_description_1 field. I then imported that expecting it to fill the product description, it imported okay but there was still no info in the product description in the store.

I then downloaded my product list from within Easy Populate and the v_products_description_1 fields were all blank.

It is not an option for me to create 1 CSV file as there are 10,000 products and the 2 CSV files don`t match for me to copy 1 column from 1 to the other.

Any advice would be SO MUCH APPRECIATED right now before this drives me insane LOL

5) Go to Admin -> Tools -> Easy Populate. If prompted to install Easy Populate, click on the
link provided. Otherwise, type in your browser address bar ?langer=install after /easypopulate.php
(eg. YOUR_ADMIN/easypopulate.php?langer=install). If you wish to remove and re-install the default
config settings, type ?langer=remove after /easypopulate.php
(eg. YOUR_ADMIN/easypopulate.php?langer=remove) and begin this step again.

So I searched for Easy populate under tools, but it isn't there:ohmy:.. Does anyone know what went wrong?:blush:
