Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Image Manager in Cpanel would not cause this type of problem. As a Hosting Client, "your" level of knowledge should not make any difference. Support should be able to discuss any Hosting problem at a level the Client understands.

They display after I load them in IH2 but this does not allow me to use Document-General product type.
I'm not sure what that means and can only presume it was working before.
Although, here at the forum, you would get lots of people offering help and suggestions, help from your Hoster is still the best option. Even hiring someone to look at the situation would not guarantee a solution.
As I see it, you have two options:
- your Hoster helps you solve the problem
- you uninstall (using the IH Admin) then reinstall
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I am really not sure where next to go with this - even if my host does give me an answer, I dont think I know enough to understand it. If anyone thinks they might be able to help me out on a "fee for service" basis, please PM me. It might be easier to work it out if that person can log in and have a good look at my system and I am happy to discuss a reasonable fee for this job.
Just a thought or is it clutching at straws :-)

Thanks Rob for talking about this - looks like we posted at the same time. I am at work today so not really able to call and hassle the host but will see if they reply to my email and then try them on the phone tomorrow.
Otherwise, not really sure what to do. IH2 was set up for me when I got the cart customised - I have been looking after it since and have only installed one very simple mod myself (to get EZ pages showing up on site map).
What is the procedure for installing and uninstalling - what does clear the cache do? I did this originally (in desperation) and it removed all my images and I had to display each item individually in IH2 admin to get them showing up again - I am asuming that this deleted all the files in the bmz_cache and I had to use IH2 to re-create them again ??? But as I say, I am a newbie so not really sure what I am doing.
basically, I do not understand why I can load images in IH2 but not directly from the product listing page even though it says the file uploaded and saved properly AND it shows up on the Product preview page (just before you save it). It wont display when you view the item on the web UNTIL you re-display it in IH2. Maybe this isnt an image handler problem at all but something else??

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Have not yet uninstalled IH and presume the 'Remove Image Handler from database' option does that for you. Once completed you would then see an 'Install' button on the right-hand side. Clicking the 'Install' button shoudl reinstall it.
Also, are you uploading images directly to the 'images' dir.? I ask because using the 'Clear image cache' option should not be deleting any source images.

Thanks Rob
Having a bit more of a look at this - my version of IH2 says 2.0-rc1 when I think perhaps I should have version 2.0
The documentation on breakmyzencart indicates there should be a pink "i" icon at the product/category page to access these functions from there but mine does not have this and I have to access the IH2 functions from the Tools menu. Does this suggest anything regarding versions to you.
I am running zencart 1.3.0 so the later versions of IH2 available for download would not seem suitable being for 1.3.5 and 1.3.6.
Clearing the cache did not delete the original images but the images disappeared from view on the web until I recreated the cached (resized from IH2) images within IH2. I did not have to upload them again - just force them to show up. I do not understand this and it is the root of my problem so still looking for an answer.
cheers
Leah
I am not at my home computer so will do the uninstall and reinstall later.

IH2 for Zen Cart 1.3.x (it is IH2 v2.0-zc13)
Try downloading and installing that version. I use it with ZC 1.3.6 and no problems.

my very helpful hosting company just replied with this:
There is nothing that we would have changed that would have caused this.
The only way we could troubleshoot this problem is if you paid for

So it looks like I will have to try uninstalling and reinstalling.

how would I check that - I have not knowingly applied any patches but I am a bit clueless abou this. I have not got rollover enabled so would not notice the javascript errors if any.
I will download the 1.3.6 version and see how it goes with my 1.3.0

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi.. Does anyone have an answer to my question? Why would the watermarks only appear in admin but not on the catalog side? I would GREATLY appreciate help.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
aussiesapphire
if you dont have rollover enabled it shouldn't matter.. i don't believe so at least. it wouldn't affect your problem for sure :P
best bet is to uninstall/reinstall in Tools > Imagehandler2.. if that doesn't work maybe the fresh upload of IH files will :)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just noticed Watermarking is not working.
I have the 3 'watermark' images uploaded to their correct dir. but it is not showing upon any image? Is there a switch one needs to turn on?
-
strange problem with IH shifting image colors
using the latest version with zc 1.3.6... whenever I turn "IH resize Images" on... my back images (gifs) turn grey! Compression quality adjustments have no effect on the color shifting. Oddly, when you click on the image to get the full-size, the color is as it should be. Obviously something is going on with the resize function in IH2... when I turn it off (letting zc handle the resizing) the images are perfect. Ive been through this entire thread & nobody else has had this problem. Anyone have any clue as to what it could be??
http://www.sybilartwear.com/main/ind...&products_id=5 Click on the image to see what it *should* look like.
ps. site is in the working stages - excuse the appearance.

OK - now I have even bigger trouble.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. This removed all the images from on display in the shop. Have managed to get the small images to show again by individually displaying each one within Image Handler (slow job as there are over 250 items). But now, I cannot get large images to display at all and if there is no image loaded, the "No Image" pictures have disappeared (is now just the red cross error) - there seems to be a javascript popup error (the yellow triangle in the bottom left corner).
A visitor to my shop can at least now see the small images on the items but not the large ones when they click. I need help on this and will be posting a "Help Wanted" in the appropriate section. I did backup of database and shop but am reluctant to fiddle with it any longer - I am not getting anywhere. Dont really want to go to the hosting company if they are charging an hourly rate and I dont know if they know anything about zencart. I think this might not be an Image Handler problem but it must be involved somewhere - I think my IH2 installation is not correct as the pink "i" icons are not showing and the preview images are showing red crosses even though they seem to be in the right place.
I need urgent help on this - please PM me if you think you can work on this for me - not expecting free help and will pay for your work.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I apologize if this question has already been asked and answered…but after reading through hundreds of pages of posts…I think one of my eyes fell out…
So…my situation is as follows:
I am running Zencart v1.2.7
And ImageHandler 1.0-beta 2
My primary use of image handler was to Show Uploaded Images in Cart
Everything was working fine….and all of sudden no more thumbnails of customer uploaded images showing in cart as a thumbnail.
In researching my problem I discovered the thumbnails of the customer uploaded images are no longer being created at all. It appears the images are being uploaded fine, but the image does not pass to the thumbnails subdirectory.
I’ve checked all my directory paths and path names and permissions and everything looks good there, and there have been no other code changes.
In reading the posts…I observed that the versions of GD, ImageMagick and maybe PHP could be the source of this problem.
I know my host has upgraded versions of things and the host server now runs PHP version 5.05… but what versions do I need for things to work correctly?
Is there anything I can do on my end if the versions do not match the Image Handler requirements?
Does the new ImageHandler version 2 for 1.2.x address this?
Does the new ImageHandler version 2 for 1.2.x still allow customer uploaded images to be displayed as thumbnails in the shopping cart?
Does the new ImageHandler version 2 for 1.2.x work with PHP 5.05?
I’ve looked at my errors logs and noticed the script that fails to complete is: show_uploaded_image.php --But I don’t get any error message in the shopping cart…
If I need to update to ImageHandler version 2 for 1.2.x, I’ve read I first need to uninstall the old version of ImageHandler (manually).
But do I also need to remove all of the databases changes using the mysql_remove_image_handler.sql that came with the image-handler_1.0beta2 download?
Any input or direction would be immensely appreciated.

If you want to give the image your putting up a name simply enter this in the "base name" field and then your pics can be called whatever you want.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
coxi
have you tried making the original upload image, bigger than the product image size that's set in your admin setting? On mine, the zoom window shows the actual upload image 'as is'.
dinki
people aren't answering 'cos they have no idea whats wrong? Watermarking worked ok on my IH2
presumably you checked the watermark image is there, in the images folder..
and for instance, does the little square + appear on your product listing images. if not, then the image combining isn't working anyway.

Thank you for replying. IH2 is working fine with the exception of the watermarking. As I stated above, the images appear to be watermarked on the admin side but not on the catalog side.
I don't mean to appear impatient, but I really would like to get this issue resolved. I'm really only looking for advice on what I can try to fix it. Is it a cache related issue? I've cleared my cache. It can't be a server issue as the admin images are watermarked...
I just can't figure it out.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
dinki
I'm out of my depth slightly, but presumably if a specific admin image is watermarked, the cart side ought to be accessing **exactly the same** cached image.
Have a good look at the url/src being called for the cart image(s), are they /bmz_cache/... or /image/... and compare the filename accurately with what's in the cache. Either use page source or properties..
It needs appliance of logic..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
You know, other then the creator of this Mod having an example on their site, I have yet to see any other site display IH2 watermarking? Hareslade, your feedback is appreciated but not sure what site you are using IH2 on? Doesn't appear to be the one in your Sig.
Something else that is odd. If you check this URL Main page - Product 3, you'll note that you do not get the mouseover image 'unless' you mouseover the + sign - bottom-right corner of image. Every site I've seen so far, using IH2, has popup image appear whenever you mouseover any part of the image.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello!
Thank for your contribution! It blew me away!
I notice that some of the files installed with IH2 1.3.5 overwrite a few core files Im on ZC 1.36. Is this something I should be concerned/do something about, once the next ZC upgrade happens?
thanks

Perfect, a place to start. Here's what I've found. On the catalog side, I picked a product and looked at the properties after I clicked on the image for the large view. Here's what I see:
http://www.decaldepot.net/images/dec...sillyboys2.gif
As you can see, it is not looking in the bmz_cache for some reason. Now when I look at the same product under IH2 in admin I get this:
Thumbnail which shows the watermark (It's very small)
http://www.decaldepot.net/bmz_cache/...mage.44x40.gif
but when I click on the thumbnail to see it larger in IH2 I do see it larger but it displays without the watermark:
http://www.decaldepot.net/bmz_cache/...ge.243x220.gif
Note that this image is coming from the bmz_cache where the catalog side is not.
So it seems things are really screwy and I have no idea how it's gotten this way. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this? I've tried IH2->Admin- Remove Image Handler and then doing a 'reinstall' via the IH2 inteface as well as a Clear image cache but the results are the same. Should I try uninstalling, reuploading the files, and then reinstalling? This is really strange...
The only other thing that I can think of that may have caused this is that I moved my catalog from decaldepot.net/zencart to decaldepot.net/
Again, thanks for the help.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
dinky did you try uploading a bigger image than the the product image default size? No use my replying if you don't try things out.. try 300 by 300 pixels..
... why would IH2 cache an image, if the size of the one asked for by the cart, is equal to, or MORE than, the available original image's size? IH2 ONLY does downsizing, not upsizing. IH2 don't make images bigger, only smaller.
Thats why you get a bmz cached tiny image in admin.. required size is smaller than original image.. but NOT SO in cart side, I think the image called is the original because your original is not too big to use. Therefore no cached image.
My reading of this is, that the zoom image is always the /images original. The rest of the images may (or may not) be supplied as cached, depending on the resizing ideas above.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I am uncertain as to what you are telling me to change. The image in /images/ is 354x320 but the same image viewed in /bmz_cache/ is 243x220 so the image is being resized. What's really strange is that my large image max width is 750 and height is set to 550. I would think that it wouldn't resize it at all..
I tried changing to max 300x300 and I get the same results (ie no watermarking)
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Problem solved. I removed IH2, removed the bmz_cache directory, reuploaded and then reinstalled. Thanks for the help

Re: Resizing all small images
I just changed my small image (and all the product listing image) sizes from 100 x 80 to 200 x 180. Now since the small images were rendered before how do I get the Image Handler to resize all the small images for me to the new size?
I have Image Handler GD Bundled version 2.0.28.

That's another feature of the mod. You can find it under "configuration", "images":
IH small image hotzone
"Set to 'yes', if you want the nice zoom overlay to appear while hovering the mouse pointer over the small images' hotzone only instead of the whole image. The hotzone will be defined by the uploaded zoom overlay image and it's position relative to the image (gravity)."
I've used the watermarking before on some sites. :smartass:

Re: Resizing all small images
I just wanted to post a reply to my own question. If you want to resize your small images then view this post: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...handler+resize
A user, Equin, has a simple solution... just download all the original images from the images/original folder, then resize them using the program XnView to the desired size and then reupload them to the images folder. And it's as simple as that!

Thank you Mr. Jade!
I do not recall seeing any mention in the IH2 Documentation, about looking under
Configuration > Images
and regarding settings for IH2. You solved the mystery for me of how to get Watermarking working.
Problem was self-created though, as there is reference in the "Readme" file about going to the IH2 site for online documentation -- which does mention options and Watermarking -- but I had never done that for some reason. :blush:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm not sure if this has been asked or answered before, but I did try a search without any results.
What I'm looking to do is add some text to each additional image. Say I have 4 color shirts, one is red and one is clay. I need to be able to allow customers to distinguish between the two. If this isnt possible, (for you coders) how hard would it be to add a function that displays the image filename minus the extention. That way I could just name the file the color and it would work that way. Well awesome add-on and thanks for creating it.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I think it would be best to mention the color within the image as well as in the file name. You would need an image program that allows one to insert text and/or resize the image a bit bigger at the bottom and insert color text there.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Id like some help with this if possible. I have been playing around with zen cart for a potential future project. I like the image handler contrib. However, out of the box it doesn't seem to be working. This is a fresh install of zen cart, with no other contribs added to it. The zoom feature does not work, and the large image is not large, it's staying the thumbnail size. Also, how do I control the image size on the product info page? It seems if i change the small image width it changes the size in the side bar too.
Test site is here. Thanks,
Josh

not a bad idea, but doing this for over 500 products and probably 1000 images would take a little bit to do..:cry:

If you use product attributes for your colours you can upload an image for each option and display the name of the attribute as a caption to the image.
This is a default behaviour of Zen-cart which I extended in recent weeks with a Mod (posted on this list) to provide pop-ups of each image too.
For a working example see: http://www.vitaoptical.co.uk/

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi!
I am in the midst of the proccess of migrating my old version of zen (1.2.6) to 1.3.6.
My problem is that after installing a couple of mods (including IH2) my main page wont display properly in IE..what I see is: featured products are being displayed in a snake like fashion, and there is an error on the page.
check it out here www.hbsavings.com/zen using IE you may need to hover over the images to get the error message which will display on the bottom left of your IE browser frame (site is not live)
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Whats the error message? The only error I ever had on mouse hovering over images was related to a missing css file required to be inside the template css folder, I think it was called Style_imagehover.css , here is a link to my one, and I have used it on most of my sites, the same file
http://www.spottedhaggis.com/style_imagehover.css
The other alignment thing, I had that as well, it was all in the css file, padding, margins etc.
Do what I did, thanks to this forum, get firefox, install the firebug addon, and open the page in firefox, hit F12 and check uot the codes, it will all make far greater sense then.
UPDATE: I just looked at the site using FF and it loks just fine, layout is as it should be, so I guess the CSS for the template your using was designed with FF in mind more than IE, so your going to need to fiddle with the CSS.
I do hope all my learning has not made me offer useless advice on this, but I had the same, asked the same questions and fixed it.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hey, thanks for the speedy response.
the following is the error message:
Line: 25
Char: 7
error "pageY" is null or not an object
Code:0
URL:htpp://hbsavings.com/zen
I have no clue what that means.
Yea I know, Firefox works like a charm. Most people use IE which means that priority #1 should be to get it to work on IE
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
That error is def the css file your missing. If the link did not work, look in some of your other template css files for the style_imagehover.css and put it into the css folder within your template, that should fix the error message.
The alignment issue is a real pain but its all in the CSS. Currently your watches are using 25% each, I would look into the css, it wont have a figure since you told the system to display 4 items per row, so add a figure into it, say 20% and see what it does.
I am no expert at all, I simply try something, upload the changed css file, refresh the page and see what it did, that way I learn a load about it at the same time.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
thats not a css file issue.. thats a javascript issue.
please download the patched version from the ZC downloads center.. the one off of Tim's site (breakmyzencart) is an unpatched version. The fix can be found on the forums there but for convenience i patched it for everyone and updated the one in the ZC downloads center
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Ok, let's get specific. Here is the link to the IH2 from ZC Downloads, last updated 09/16/2006. If there is another link with a newer or patched version available in the Downloads, please provide.
As to JS errors, there is a dir. called 'jscript' included with the IH2 install. I found that even when using Template overrides and uploading the 'jcript' dir. correctly, IH2 would not work unless the 'jscript' dir. was also uploaded to:
includes/templates/template_default
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
^^ thats the link i'm talking about.. just got a little lazy and didnt look around for it. Thanks for the link man
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
thanks :), Great help guys I solved the problem with the JS error by uploading the new file set to the site.
spottedhaggis: I switched so it displays 3 items per row works perfect..so now the next step where exactly in the CSS file should I look?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Anyone happen to know why I am still getting js errors?
It driving me nuts.
Here is the error.
Code:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just found this contrib and had a question about installation. In the directions it said to merge tpl_main_page.php contents with your current template. Maybe I don't understand the overrides system enough, but it seems that the body tag would get messed up if I put the ID and onLoad in place of what's in my template. Would anyone explain how I can do this properly? Thanks!
Image Handler
Code:
<body id="popupAdditionalImage" class="centeredContent" onLoad="resize();">
<div>
<?php
// $products_values->fields['products_image']
echo '<a href="javascript:window.close()">' . zen_image($_GET['products_image_large_additional'], $products_values->fields['products_name'] . ' ' . TEXT_CLOSE_WINDOW) . '</a>';
?>
</div>
</body>
MyTemplate
Code:
<body id="<?php echo $body_id . 'Body'; ?>"<?php if($zv_onload !='') echo ' onload="'.$zv_onload.'"'; ?>>
Thanks in advance!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Solved my own questions. Installed without changing the file. One more small issue which I do not think has to do with the main_page file. Whenever I hover an image, the product name does not appear in the zoombox. I'll continue looking around, but any help would be great. Thanks.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Fixed my zoombox issue, I had to decrease the padding on the box. I guess it was being pushed outside of the area.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello,
have a fresh install of ZW 1.3.6, and have downloaded IH2 from the contrib section here (version 2 for 1.35)
after I copy all the files, but my admin index and main site index show up blank..no errors just a blank white page...
I've reloaded it twice and am getting the same results....
did some searching and am not finding any obvious solutions - anyone have an idea as to what the problem might be?
thanks!

ensure every single file gets uploaded.. your host may have error reporting off which is why you don't get info on the blank page. some FTP programs upload parts of files but never get around to doing the whole file.. i use FileZilla for all of mine and it hasn't failed me yet
if that still doesn't work.. redownload the contribution from the downloads section and upload a fresh one.. could be a bad archive download too

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I was wondering if there was a way to remove the watermark from certain images?
I have a category that's laid out differently using CSS than all other product categories. The products under this category will have 2 large images - the second is an "additional image". It's about 550px in width, and to get it to show up on the page, I had to name it the same name as the product image + _01_LRG. When I did that, the image showed up as it should - but here's a watermark over it. It also has the script with the hover attribute added to that image.
So I'm wondering if there's a way to remove the script and watermark from additional images in a particular category? I'm not afraid to hack code if I must - but I'd need to know where to look for it. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
This is such a long thread and didn't see if this was already covered. Apologies if it is.
This is really a great mod, however as it is resizing images "on the fly" I have found a good way of making it quick. In Configuration >> Images
Set the size of your images close as possible to the image as it appears on the site. So when your images load, right click and check their size. Then change your images size in config as close to these values as possible. I use the following
Image - Width 85
Image - Height 75
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I posted a couple messages regarding Additional Images popping up the default product image instead of the additional image, but I may have posted in the wrong thread -- so with apologies to anyone who may have seen this already, I detailed my problem in the Upgrading to 1.3.6 section. I'm just hoping to hear a viable suggestion for how to link Additional image thumbnails with their large-image popup counterparts. (Currently I get the product's default image popup whenever an Additional image thumbnail is clicked.)
Thanks in advance,

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well, I've come to the conclusion (after further reading) that IH2 can't make specific changes to certain images - it's an "all or nothing" kind of thing.
So, I've come to a conclusion (and I'll share it, in case anyone else needs to know) - basically we are now putting the extra images for our products within the product description. We are sticking in a hard-coded link that goes directly to the image itself, and bypasses the IH2 program. That way, we can still have all others with the watermark, and the ones we *don't* just are called in individually.
Yeah, makes for a lot of extra work, but that's where the Easy Populate comes in handy :)
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yeah, I can see where trying to designate specific images for watermarks would call for either hard-coded links in the product description or a lot of custom programming. Probably not much call for that feature.
As for the question of how to make additional image thumbnails display the correct large image when clicked (with Zen-Cart 1.3.6), I'm still working on that one. Haven't heard any ideas or suggestions yet, so I guess I'll try re-installing IH2 and hope for some improvement. :mellow:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm having trouble with this mod. I have installed it on two of my websites (fresh 1.3.6 Zencart installs). There is a border around all my images that I cannot get rid of. See an example on a product listing page : http://www.netjuggler.net/diabolos-diabolos-c-2_3.html
I get the same problem on the product page :
http://www.netjuggler.net/circus-p-5.html
I think this problem is relative to this mod.
What should I modify to get rid of this border and border colour. I know where to change the colour as it comes from my css :
a:link, a:visited {
color: #7f7f7f;
text-decoration: none;
padding:0px;
margin:0px;
border:none;
}
That is the only place in my css that this colour is used. And for some reason it's being applied to image border as well as to text. How do I get the link colour to only affect the text ? and most of all how do I get rid of the border on my images.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Problem solution : Sorry for bothering you with this, this had nothing to do with the mod. It was my error. I found the solution, I had deleted the following bit of css from my stylesheet :
a img {border: none; }

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Just installed the 1.3.5 compatible IH2 on my zen-cart 1.3.6, and I'm happy to report the IH2 problem with additional image thumbnails popping the wrong image on click has gone away. Now, when you click the additional image thumbnail, the correct large image pops up.
Excellent contribution! :D

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm having a new issue -
I have no idea what happened. Everything was working just fine until yesterday. I've racked my brains trying to figure out why this started happening all of a sudden, and cannot figure out what's gone wrong.
Anyway, before, when you hovered over the smaller images, there would be a nice little "popup" of a larger image. For some reason, it's now not working. Instead, I get three javascript errors:
"showtrail is not defined"
"hidetrail is not defined"
"Error in parsing value for property 'cursor'. Declaration dropped."
These are all Firefox messages, by the way. When I view in IE, it gives me a little bit more information:
"Line 136, Char 1, error: object expected"
Now, I haven't touched the script. The only thing I did yesterday was work on the stylesheet, and I don't know how that would mess with the script. If any more information is needed, I'll be happy to post it - but would anyone know why this would be happening?

Although you did not touch the script itself, and that is not where the problem is anyway, you do state that changes were made to the CSS file. As the script uses the CSS file and the errors seem to be CSS related, you should check and see what descriptors your CSS file has for:
showtrail - hidetrail - cursor

Well, I haven't touched the CSS file (on the items related to the Image Handler) since I first installed it and made my initial changes. My CSS work was involving the rest of the site. As I said, everything was working just fine until the other day.
Wait - your comment made me go check something - I decided to check my CSS stuff against the default template, and I found something interesting - the javascript file had been deleted from my server! I've just re-uploaded it and it's fine now.
Now I have to go have a talk with the client and tell them to stop messing with stuff on the server! Funny - they're the ones who complained it was "suddenly not working" - I didn't think that they'd actually deleted the *file* - and smack me for believing them when they said "No, we didn't do anything...". Sheesh. No wonder it wasn't working.
Thanks for making me check, Rob!
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
You're welcome for the help and you bring up another good point. When you made you post I got the impression it was not a 3rd party site, but your site.
When a site belongs to Client and they state they did not do anything, always best to double check first -- as we can see in this example. :wink2:
As a Hoster, we can get similar Support issues regarding logins. Then we find the Client changed their login but forgot to mention that or somebody else they gave permission to do so, made the change and forgot to tell the Client.
Gotta love this Web stuff. :lamo:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: bmz_needs_update()
Hi everyone. I can't wait to get this mod working. Could you lend a helping hand?
Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: bmz_needs_update() in /home/worldne/public_html/admin/image_handler.php on line 482

Merging popup_image_additional/tpl_main_page.php
I'm having trouble undersanding how to merge this file into my custom template.
Could someone tell me how to merge this:
Code:
<body id="<?php echo $body_id . 'Body'; ?>"<?php if($zv_onload !='') echo ' onload="'.$zv_onload.'"'; ?>>
<?php
if (SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET1 != '' && $banner = zen_banner_exists('dynamic', SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET1)) {
if ($banner->RecordCount() > 0) {
?>
<div id="bannerOne" class="banners"><?php echo zen_display_banner('static', $banner); ?></div>
<?php
}
}
?>
<?php
/**
* prepares and displays header output
*
*/
require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_header.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common'). '/tpl_header.php');?>
<div id="mainWrapper">
with this:
Code:
<body id="popupAdditionalImage" class="centeredContent" onLoad="resize();">
<div>
<?php
// $products_values->fields['products_image']
echo '<a href="javascript:window.close()">' . zen_image($_GET['products_image_large_additional'], $products_values->fields['products_name'] . ' ' . TEXT_CLOSE_WINDOW) . '</a>';
?>
</div>
</body>
It seems everyone else has got this figured out. I must be getting old.:P

You shouldn't need to. I recommend you start again by re-uploading the IH2 files and double check that you've followed the installation instructions to the letter.

It's a while since I was last "inside" the IH2 mod, but as far as I recall, you don't need to "merge" code in the way your suggesting; however, some files do need to be placed in your overrides system.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
OK. It works. So far.
Here's what I did.
I reverted everything back to the beginning and then reuploaded all of the files again.
Then I simply added the CSS file to my CSS folder in my custom template directory, I had merged them before. I did the same for the additional popups image directory where I just uploded the directory instead of adding the code to my main template.
Thanks for your help Ryk. Just needed the push. :D

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well I've gone through most of the pages about IH and I'm still a bit confused. I'm just about finished my upgrade from 1.2. I've tested with just a few images and IH seems fine. Since I was using the previous version of IH I have all those medium, large, original folders and files. I'd like to clean this up with only what's necessary for the new version. So does anyone know if the following will work.
After installing IH 2 upload all of the files in the original folder and still keeping it in the original folder. Go to IH2 admin and run "Scan for old IH 0.x and 1.x original images". I should then be done and all small, medium and large images should run from bmz cache. This way I'm not uploading all the old medium and large images. Anybody know if I got it right?

Thats whats meant to happen..
However backup your images first as each time I have tried this with 1.3.6 it deleted all the files in the original directory and none ended up in the images directory. I ended up having to restore the files and then manually copying the files from the images/original to images.
Also before it will cache the images you will have to delete them from the medium and large directories. If you leave them there these images will be used instead.

OK, I installed IH2 on my site with no problems...but now I'm trying to install it on someone else's site, and whenever I install it, all of her product images disappear. Anyone had this happen? I've checked and the permissions are all good...I just don't know where else to look :(

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
On a different idea, I find png's hard to make transparent for the watermark in the way that the zencart one is..
But simple transparent gif's I know how to do...
If you want to use a watermark.gif (watermark_LRG.gif, watermark_MED.gif)
the function in the IH2 classes file 'includes\classes\bmz_image_handler.class.php' is
Code:
function initialize_overlays($sizetype) {
and in there you will see references to 'watermark' followed by
I changed the png to gif, and it watermarked a large picture with my new 'watermark_LRG.gif' file (put into the 'large' images directory) -so I assume this is all one needs to do.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I transfered my site to a new domain and the product info page is not working, the following message shows:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zen_image_lightbox_ih2_url() in ../templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php on line 17
Any idea on this? Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have installed IH2; and it works just fine. One thing i cannot figure out - what is the size of the LRG images that IH generates by default? Even, if I do not make _LRG files, the image handler creates large images anyway. It seems that it creates a double size of the small images. Is it correct?

You set the size of LRG images in admin>configuration>images
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Ryk,
Which setting relates to the LRG image?
I can see small image width & height and Product Info image width & height, which corresponds to the MED image. Where is the LRG one?
Thanks,
Andy
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Towards the bottom - "IH large image maximum width" and the next line
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have IH large image maximum width/height 750/550px accordingly. However, all the existing LRG images (before IH installation) are 200x160 or 300x240. Those are generated by IH as I have not created large images.
My question remains the same: where are the above settings 200x160 or 300x240? I just cannot find such numbers in the configuration->images
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
IH will only REDUCE a large image that exceeds the maximum sizes.
The idea behind IH was to allow people who don't have a clue about image preparation (even after they've read the excellent How to :laugh: ) to simply upload their images and have them correctly optimized for the web. It will not attempt to expand the size of an image because we know that results in poor quality, so what you should be doing is uploading your large images to the images directory (or sub-directory) and IH will create the small and medium sizes with appropriate filesizes.
I think you'll find that those dimensions you have are the actual size of the pre-IH uploaded images.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Has anyone experienced security holes with IH? I just had ALL my images wiped out from my store (I already restored them). Only images related to products and articles, not design.
I have all my ZC security patches (I'm using ZC v1.3.5), and since it was an image issue, thought it might be IH.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I've installed Image Handler 2 on Zen Cart 1.26d.
Resizing the source hires image to small and medium is working but the large image is showing up clipped (only part of the hires image is shown).
Any pointers to why this may be?
Also any additional images are not displayed since installing Image Handler. What could be causing this?
Should I be seeing files appear in the bmz_cache directory?

Uninstall and update Zen to 1.3.7!

Uninstall and update Zen to 1.3.7!
I'm aware that this is an outdated version of Zen Cart and I expected somebody to point that out to me...
It's not being used as a shop but as a catalogue so there's not much to compromise. Upgrading would of course be possible but won't be as easy as for most installations as I customized Zen Cart here and there.
I appreciate your answer but to be honest it doesn't solve my problem.
If Image Handler really is no good I'd gladly use something else for easy image handling but I didn't see many other options. Maintaining thousands of images manually in three different resolutions isn't much fun!
So how did you replace Image Handler?
Daniel

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
There was an:
Image-Handler v1.0-beta2 for Zen-Cart v1.2.6d
by Tim Kroeger, breakmyzencart.com
See if you can still find it. This should work just fine. I used it back when....
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I think you'll find he actually did a IH2 which could be used for 1.2.x - http://www.breakmyzencart.com/image-handler
There's nothing wrong with IH - heaven knows where you got the idea that it's no good. Just make absolutely sure you follow the installation instructions to the letter. :wink2:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi,
Sorry if this has been covered in the 80 pages on this thread, but I need help with an issue.
I have IH2 installed and it seems to be working, but when I hover over an image I get the IH2 popup, but I also receive the standard tool tip on top of it.
Did I miss something on the install or is there a way to turn the tool tips off?
