Also, how can this gift card them be send to another person using Zen Cart to track the transfer ?
I just wanted to update any new users who are looking to download this mod. I store the downloads on my site, but my site was recently hacked. In an effort to get rid of bad files, I accidentally deleted the folder which contains the COWOA downloads. Yes, I am an idiot. Not for accidentally deleting them, but for not having back up copies. It seems I have back up copies of everything else along with EVERY stupid insignificant file on my computer, but no COWOA backup. So.... if there is anyone who happens to have this mod for 1.3.7 and for 1.3.8 that can send them to me, I would be very grateful. If not, I will not be able to sort this out and get things back up until this weekend, maybe even next weekend depending on my workload. Sorry!!!
Wasn't sure which mod this was, but here's two links, one to easy_signup and one to Integrated COWOA 1.3.8:
http://www.limelites.co.uk/easy_signup.rar
http://www.limelites.co.uk/IntegratedCOWOA(1.3.8).rar
Thank you so much limelites! I was able to find COWOA 1.3.7 on an old disc and thought I would have to spend my Saturday editing it for 1.3.8. I would have been so behind on my work.
I encountered this issue as well, post #672 in this thread. I did not follow up with a response to Numinix on whether the customer could come back and use the same e-mail address. I was selling a lot of gift certificates for the holidays and just disabled the COWOA functionality and avoided the issue altogether.
I would still like to offer COWOA as an option. I'm curious how this is successfully handled by shops using Gift Certificates and downloadable products?
Couldn't you put a notice stating that, for obvious reasons, an account needs to be created when someone is purchasing a download or gift cert.? I think most people in their right mind would understand that under certain circumstances, they just cannot use guest checkout for those kinds of items. These particular products require information to be stored. I purchase downloads frequently and have never seen a site using guest checkout for such a product. And although I may be a little more computer savvy compared to the average person, I never considered it unreasonable to create an account in order to buy that kind of item. Do I need to create an account to buy screwdrivers? Not really. But for downloads and gift certs? Probably. jmho. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Thanks for your quick reply Craftzombie.
I had the 'YOU MUST CREATE AN ACCOUNT' when checking out notice on downloads and invariably I was dealing with at least one customer a week that ignored it. That was easy to resolve because I could e-mail them the file.
Gift certificates were another matter because they were not as easy to deal with once the customer checked out without an account.
I think my business lends itself to asking someone to create an account. The goal is to make them a long term, repeat customer. At the same time, if they just want to order a single pattern or have other reasons for not wanting to 'create an account' I'd like to offer the COWOA option. Anything to keep conversions as high as possible! :)
I keep the notices turned on for this thread in the event someone does come up with an approach for dealing with this issue.
Creation of an account with a password is the greatest source of complaints we received from people with our current set-up. People prefer not to create an account, especially if its a one-off purchase. In spite of the restricted support, people do not want to create accounts.
I need this to work specifically for GCs COWOA as it is the main source of business for the account I'm looking to create this zen cart for.
I guess I was hoping someone has already solved this issue, but perhaps it will turn into a contribution for the community when all is said and done.
I need a customized delivery option without burdening the customer post-checkout to allow for true COWOA with a GC. Basically putting the send gift card page before final checkout Any contributions in the way of ideas would be greatly appreciated
I agree this is the only issue I have with Zen since most of my clients DO NOT want forced login.....
LIMELIGHT...what are you using for your checkout? I that Easy SIgn Up and COWOA...I love your format.....I am using one page checkout for most of my clients now and debating whether ot use COWOA for future clients instead....but yours is the best layout I have seen so far....
Greetings Zenners!
I just downloaded COWOA version 1.3.8 (it is May 3rd.) I state the date because on the download page it stated that if you downloaded before April 30, 2009, and upgrade could be added.
In the downloaded files, there is no YOUR_TEMPLATE folder, but there is a freetemplate2 folder. I am very familiar with the override system and just want to check if the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder is renamed to freetemplate2 and I should upload those files to my custom folder, or, do I need to have a folder called freetemplate2?
I hope that is clear...
Thanks!
Chris

You have me confused! For the thing about April 30th....
If someone downloaded COWOA prior to April 30th, that download did not contain an additional add-on called COWOA Admin (written by Bluefish). On April 30th, I added COWOA Admin to the COWOA download since most people would like to be able to see in their admin which customers used COWOA. I am confused about the part where you said something about an upgrade? There is no upgrade. There is just an additional add-on that I have included in the download that wasn't there before (but was available in this thread on post #186).
The same files that are in freetemplate2 are the same files that are in your-template. Upload any of them into your actual template files folders. You do not upload the actual freetemplate2 file folders or the your-template files folders. The files contained in them are the only thing that you upload into your own template folders. (I think that the person who made the add-on had a template they were using which was called freetemplate2 and that is why it is in there. I will probably delete freetemplate2 from the download eventually. I never knew it was there because I don't use the order steps add-on. )
Hi,
New Zenner here that has received all help by looking at the FAQs and the helpful forum posts yet stumped on the COWA mod.
I am using Zen version: 1.3.8 and I have installed this on a client's site (with other mods like QBI and Invoice). IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY (was able to do this in 10 min!).
However, I tried intalling this mod on another client's site and I do not know why the Check Out Without Account option is not available. I have intalled all files, except for the add-ons. Uploaded the SQL file. Changed the PHP files to permissions 750. Set "use split login = true" and still nothing. (No other mods have been installed either).
I also tried another fresh install on a test site (www.michelletops.com/mscatalog) and I am reaching the same problem.
Any help is immensely appreciated!!!
I forgot to switch what template I'm using in the admin.
Thanks for a terrific mod!!!
Hi I have been using the COWOA for a while now, and think it's a great mod.
Recently I had a telephone order come through and took the details. I placed the order myself for the customer going throught checkout without account.
This threw up a problem.
I placed the customers items in the basket and selected checkout without account. Entered the customers address details and clicked to continue. The progress bar moved up in explorer, giving the impression it was doing something, but very slowly. If I clicked on the continue button again it said the form had been submitted and was in progress.
Eventually an email came through to me saying that an account had been setup. This is bviously not sent to the customer. I waited probablt another 5 minutes and the page just stayed as it was with the progress bar giving the impression it was working, but very slowly.
In the end I pressed the back button in explorer and it took me to the page for changing account details. Surly this is a flaw. If the customer did this they would know an account has been created.
The long time lag for this page to process is most probably why on another site I have with much higher traffic, I have lots of people creating an account but not completing the order.
Anyway, does anyone have any idea what would cause this to happen.
I am running 1.3.8a of zen, but not sure which version of COWOA. Maybe someone can tell me where I can find that out.
Please excuse me if this is a previous problem, but I could not find it in the thread.
Laurie
install the mod,but only split-login page, can find the check out wothout account option
Did anyone get this working with PDFOC?
To add to my post number 815, this is definetly causing a problem. I have 2 seperate sites, with the same problem.
My gift site had three people back out of sales yesterday.
When I looked at user tracking I found the customer had ended up at the my account information page. For a customer that thinks they are going through checkout without an account, arriving at this page, means the trust has been lost and the customer goes elswhere.
Heres the tracking that I picked up. I have broken the links for security.

Can someone try it on my safety handrail site. Chalfont online.co.uk Remove the space. Added so google does not find. See what you think yourself. If the page appears to hang or take ages to complete after adding the address information, press the back page key in explorer.
When I do this it ends up going to the account information page.
Any help with this would be much appreciated, as I am certain it is loosing me orders on both sites.
Regards
Laurie
Laurie,
I tested several times on both sites and never encountered the problem you had. For me, both sites were slow in general, the gadget site being the worst. And not just on checkout, but on any page. Neither site ever seemed to get stuck, but I pressed the back button when it was loading slowly and it just took me back to the previous page. I also created a real account to see if it was any different and it was actually slower than COWOA at that time.
I myself have never had the problem you are having so I am kind of stuck when it comes to helping. :(
Also... Google already found the handrail site.
It's great for batch invoicing and creating pdf invoices.
I think I have a work around for link issue anyway now, I hacked things around so all the status emails link to the Status Page instead of Order History Info.
If anyone created a permanent account they can log in and view their full order history, just dealing with things in a different way.
Just absolutely love open source software, you can do so much with it.
Been working on my test site for days and days now, adding, tweaking, adding and more tweaking.. should have it ready by 2012 :D
I apologize if this have been asked already but, Is there a bug with "Table Rate"-shipping? If i even have it activated I can't continue to from Checkout Shipping to Checkout Payment.
The only difference between COWOA and regular checkout is the very beginning where the customer is filling out the no_account page. Every other step is the same, so no... there is no bug with table rate shipping. The COWOA mod only adds an additional page (no_account) and does not touch the shipping or payment pages, etc. (unless you are including the order steps add-on, in which case you are only messing with the design).
I am using zen cart v 1.3.8. I have installed the COWA mod on another site and it works beautifully! LOVE IT!
I am trying to install this on another site where I am using the Apple Zen template.
I have integrated the COWA code to these three zen files -
/includes/templates/apple_zen/templates/tpl_checkout_success_default.php
/includes/templates/apple_zen/templates/tpl_checkout_payment_default.php
/includes/templates/apple_zen/common/tpl_header.php
I removed this code from tpl_header
<?php if (!($_SESSION['COWOA'])) { ?>
because the whole site goes down when I add it.
I noticed that when I try to use the COWA feature during checkout the apple_zen template may "look" for a specials page - It's just in the metatag and I'm not sure if this is the case. Although I do notice that the template that I downloaded did not come with this file to fix (hmmm.)
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can somebody help please? I've just spent about 6 hours figuring out how to move the section called "Checkout Without Account" to the TOP, so customers can actually see it.
Also, there is a stupid grey bar up top that says Login!! How do I get rid off it? I can change the actual text, but even if I put a space it still shows up. If I comment it out, the whole "Login" & grey bar comes back!
I started by modifying login.php in my template over-ride folder. But I can ONLY modify the minor text. If I try to modify ANYTHING else, it uses the default login.php in the english folder, and not the over-ride.
Can any body help please..? This is driving me insane. :frusty:
I need to:
1] Move COWOA to the top
2] Get rid of sign up, or at least move it to bottom
3] Get rid of Log in, or move it to bottom
4] Erase the stupid grey bar with the word 'Login'
I spent all day doing this and gotten nowhere.. Help if you can..

Running: Zen-Cart 1.3.8a with Simple SEO URL, Image Handler 2, Module Manager, Cold Steel template.
web site is www.fuelpumpsusa.com
Thank you Thank Thank you
I should have been editing includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_login_default.php
NOT includes/languages/english/cold_steel/login.php
What an idiot!! :censored:
I downloaded the updated 1.3.8 version and had a question about its install. the folders in the Install folder that say "freetemplate2" are they supposed to be "YOUR_TEMPLATE" because in the Installation Instructions everyting that says "YOUR_TEMPLATE" is called "freetemplate2".
Thanks,
Chad
I figured it out! You need to replace the name with your name.
I run into a problem with one of the add-ons that came with the updated version for 1.3.8. The add on is the ordersteps. everthing installed fine its just that there is a folder named "optional arrows" that has several arrow images and is supposed to be used for the new image for this updated module so it can work with the COWA. Well I have no clue where to put the arrow? I put one in my "Your_Template" images folder but still getting the same image. Any ideas?
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...rder_steps.jpg
try putting in here
\includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\images
I did I selected the arrow I wanted to use and re-named it from arrow_checkout15.gif to arrow_checkout.gif and put it into that image folder and still no luck? :(
only thing I can suggest then is go back to beginning,
check all files uploaded correctly.
did your order steps define upload okay?
Well I removed all my order steps files and reinstalled the original ones then the ones included in the Add-ons folder and replaced the original is asked and still get the same thing? I cant figure out what im doing wrong! Even the file structure from the notepad file is the same.
okay, double check that you merged the files correctly in
\includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\templates.
the ones in order steps need merging with the ones on COWOA
There are only 2 new files that's not from the original but one might be the problem because its not in the same location as the original file. The original files has a languages/English/extra_definitions/Your_Template/order_steps_defines.php but the new files has the same file but in a different location. lanuages/english/extra_definitions/order_steps_defines.php. Its not in "Your_Template" could that be the problem?
I would say it looks a likely culprit.
all mine are set for
includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\templates
containing
tpl_checkout_confirmation_default.php
tpl_checkout_payment_default.php (merged)
tpl_checkout_shipping_default.php
tpl_checkout_success_default.php (merged)
sorry, meant to say my def's are
\includes\languages\english\extra_definitions
I dont know how its working but I deleted every file again and reinstalled and now its working? Weird... Thanks for the help
life's strange like that:laugh:
glad it's working
all the best
craftzombie,
I like the condensed look of your no_account php page. You removed all the containers and added everything into one box. Do I edit the php file for this look or is this handled in another file? thanks in advance :)
Is anyone aware of any issues between COWOA & the OzPost or AustPost (now obsolete) shipping modules.
If anyone here is using both modules, tips or tricks would be appreciated.
TIA
I edited tpl_modules_no_account.php to make it look like that. You can download mine here if you like:
http://craftzombie.com/zencart/tpl_m...no_account.zip
It may not be exactly what you want and I may have fields missing that you wanted to keep, but you'll be able to get an idea of what I did.
Thanks so much!! That does help. I wasn't sure which file to even begin editing. Thanks a bunch!
I am not new to Zen Cart or new to installing Zen add-ons, but this one is giving me fits.
I have made sure that all the files are uploaded into the correct directories. I have uploaded the SQL patch. But when I go to Layout Settings there is no "split login page" option. I have gone over it a dozen times. It is not there.
Have I done something silly here?
glwm,
Go to admin -> Configuration -> Layout Settings -> Use split Login option. This is the second to last option on the list. Set this to true.
nope, not there
the second to last item is "Option Names and Values Global Add, Copy and Delete Features Status"
I just did a clean install of ZC 1.3.8a on a test site and on that install the split-login option IS there.
The site in question IS current at 1.3.8a but somehow the layout screen is messed up. Either a past upgrade went wrong or some other add-on is effecting the layout options.
I have most of my product available as a Download. With COWA after the order is placed a download link shows up. If they close out of that screen without downloading they wont get it. Is there anyway that the download link can be added to the confirmation email?
hi all
I ti great mode - conversion is grow up
Im setup admin mode too... But when I work with orders - Im dont see it is customer with accout or without... For me is better to know this.
Somebody edit orders.php to add some columns in it? Im stupid in php programming....
Please reply
Pavel
Hi Pavel,
You can see which customer has used COWOA by installing an add-on found here:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...&postcount=186
It will add a column to the customers table as seen here:
http://craftzombie.com/images/cowoa.jpg
I am hoping this is what you are asking!
;)
Thank you fo reply, but I mean when I work with orders - Im click on
http://www.nail1.eu/admin/orders.php...omers&status=2
And orders.php not changed - I can not see what order from customer without account... I need more attention to notregistered customers
Need call him to confirm big order, cose everyone can fill order form without registration
it is not good idea every time check in customers menu if this order from registered customer or not. I can see it in orders side... (better to see it in order side )

Checkout Without Account Mod problem found
Hi, dear all. I'm using COWOA(1.3.8) with Zen Cart 1.3.8a.
If a person once checks out without an account, there will be no problem for him/her sign up with a regular account with the same email address used for the checkout without an account option.
However, when the he/she login with his/her regular account and try to the change the account information like the name or telephone by pressing update. There will be a warning like that
"Our system already has a record of that email address - please try logging in with that email address. If you do not use that address any longer you can correct it in the My Account area."
It seems that with the email address used firstly COWOA and then signed up for a regular account poses this problem.
Maybe this has been discussed before. Please somebody helps. Thanks a lot!
Yes a person can use a COWOA email address to sign up for a non-COWOA account later on, but no.... a person cannot change their regular account email address to an email address used previously for COWOA (unless you have deleted that COWOA account). The person who wrote the mod wrote it in a way that allows a duplicate email during sign up and he probably didn't think about the problem you are discussing.
Remember that this mod doesn't really create a true COWOA account because Zen itself isn't created that way. The purpose of the mod is to fool the customer into thinking they are not creating an account. Personally, I delete all of my COWOA customers from the database as soon as I process their order. If you did the same, you wouldn't have the problem you are asking about. The customer would be able to use that COWOA email address when changing regular account info. I know this is probably not the "fix" you are asking for, but there is no one who knows Zen code that is willing to make COWOA do what everyone wants. We are pretty much stuck with it the way it is.
Dear friends - It is crazy idea to delete customer from databaze after you send one order....
We work - make shop, pay advertising and now we have customer who is dummy in PC and for him easy to send order without registration. It is ok and no problem for me.
But why I need delete him from database? i can send him emails. Can see how many goods hi order. I have statistics and can sell him more and more. It is marketing.
It is our customers - we can not delete this contacts. It is crazy idea.... really....
I plane use COWOA one month and compare conversion.... I can switch on and off my COWOA mod.
There are other ways to keep in contact with customers (newsletters, for example). A customer who uses COWOA does so for a reason. They don't want their information stored. They don't want you to spam them. I NEVER send any additional information to a customer unless they sign up for my newsletter, place additional orders, etc. Maybe its just me. Also, deleting them from the customers table is not the same as deleting them from the orders table. You can delete them as a customer but their order will remain and there would be no issues with duplicate emails, etc.
Perhaps Zen Cart isn't for you and you would rather pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for someone to create a cart tailored for you.
P.S. I don't consider a customer to be a "dummy" if they prefer COWOA.
Dear craftzombie,
Your kind explanation is much appreciated. But deleting customsers who once use COWOA is really not a good idea, so eventually, I have to give up using COWOA. Hope this problem can sooner or later be solved so that COWOA can be much generally used on Zen Cart.
Thanks again for your time, craftzombie!
craftzombie - your work is really good.
it is nice mode. now I have more orders.
But need solution how to give customers be free to use my shop with registrations and without registrations...
only this moment
I just wanted to clarify that this is not my mod. I did not write it. I just know it pretty well and try my best to answer questions since the person who wrote it is unable to. As far as how it works in regards to PHP, etc... I have no clue! I do not write code. I understand code a tiny bit so that I am able to tweak things sometimes or move things around, but that's about it. If only I had the time to learn, I'd probably be good at it!
Greetings CraftZombie
From your generous help and ongoing kindnesses, my getting COWOA up and running was relatively painless and straightforward.
You certainly have my vote as Zen Cart Mother of the Year.
I have installed what I believe is the most recent COWOA mod for 1.3.8a and am running into a problem.
I have the Split screen set to true
I get to the split screen with the three choices like I'm supposed to but when I try to check-out it's not finding the file it needs and gives me a 404 error.
The error I'm getting was supposed to show in a pic but a screenshhot from a 24" iMac was too large to be usefull as a thumbnail so here it is:
Thanks in advance.
Yes CraftZombie has been doing a great job of lending support for this module. Numinix has been developing the module under Fast and Easy Checkout and I believe CraftZombie incorporated some of the updates such as the billing/shipping address checkbox into the standalone version. However, with the next release of FEC 1.4.x COWOA will have changed greatly with the addition of AJAX. Visit http://www.numinix.com/development/fec to have a look at the changes.
Sorry, should have thought of that during the multiple edits I did.
The site is http://NiagaraIceWineShop.com
Thanks for the speedy reply.
Robert
It seems to be working after I did a complete upload of the ADMIN and INCLUDES folders. Not sure what happened there.
Next questions, where can I get the admin module to see these orders that are done in COWOA?
Thanks again, this is why I love this program. The support is GREAT!
In the Links section of the wiki page
Have been using the COWOA module for over a year and it has been working great. The only thing I cannot figure out is once and awhile a few people are still finding a way of creating accounts, and then they get the "Create Account email". When I do tests of the site using different computers, browsers, etc. I never see the "Create an Account" links. Any ideas on how I can find these links and just disable them?
a site to take alook at is http://secure.nps1.net/puzzler
There are no links that I was able to find. You have a very simple site (which I love) and not a lot of places to look for such a link, so that was easy! I can only think of one thing, and I could be completely wrong, so you'll have to test this. Normally I would, but I have no time today to do so.
Maybe they are waiting too long to checkout??? Since you have it going directly to COWOA and not the login page, they might have been going through the checkout process, then stopped for whatever reason, but then when they tried to proceed, too much time had passed and Zen sent them back to the login page. You could fix this by removing the password fields/returning customer section and the create account sections from the login page completely. Then change the wording of the COWOA section to just say something like "Checkout" instead. Something like in the attached thumbnail below.
There is probably a better way though. I'm sure somehow you could have them sent back to the no_account page rather than the login page by tweaking code somewhere in Zen. Probably in the includes/modules/pages/time_out/header_php.php page, but I wouldn't know how to go about that. You could also try going to includes/filenames.php and changing define('FILENAME_LOGIN', 'login'); to define('FILENAME_LOGIN', 'no_account'); but please test that first. I usually test things first before I suggest them to you guys, but I just can't do it today.
I am using COWOA with FEC, when I check out with COWOA and enter a separate shipping address is does not show on the order. However the address is being stored in the customer account. I just don't see it in the order or order confirmation. Any ideas where to look for the problem.
Keith
I installed the admin portion of the COWOA and it appeared worked fine and look OK in the admin panel until I read this post and installed the update.
When I open the admin now, it looks the attached picture.
Any ideas?
I also do not understand what file I change the heading in. I looked in the customer.php file and can't find any occurence of COWOA in there. :-(
Site URL is niagaraicewineshop.com although that is not going to show you the admin issue.
Any and all help always appreciated.
Robert
I ended up doing something bad to the setup trying to setup a different mod and basically destroyed the site to point where I started from scratch again.
So I gave up on the other mod and just put in the mods I didn't have any problems with.
So the site is http://niagaraicewineshop.com
The checkout should work but if you can test it....
I also posted another message about an error I got when adding the customer update files. :-(
thanks again
Robert
PS for someone who doesn't write code, you rock.
While on the subject of the Bluefish mod (#873), my Customers table shows no Action column between the Authorised and the COWOA columns.
Is this part of the COWOA mod?
Could someone enlighten what the Action column does?
ps craftzombie
Hot, Thin, Smart - You have my vote either way.
I'm trying to integrate InternetSecure payment mod and part of their STRICKT requirements is that it shows currency is done in.
On the current checkup page, it only shows the amount of the order but doesn't show that it's in USD (our only currency)
Is there a way to modify the the checkout to show the selected currency?
I have USD as the only currency installed and it shows that on the main page but apparently that is not enough, it has to show at the checkout also.
site is http://niagaraicewineshop.com
Thanks
Robert
I noticed that on the no_account page using this MOD, it gives you the option to login to your account if you have one, but when you click on it takes you to the temp account settings that you are using.
I thought I would just remove the line that shows this info in checkout_payment.php so I put a comment in front of that line.
This produced an error on the page, 'TEXT_ORIGIN_LOGIN'
So instead I removed the actual text from the page like this on line 15 of the no_account.php file in /includes/languages/english/CUSTOM
(Only remove the text between the single quotes)Code:define('TEXT_ORIGIN_LOGIN', '');
Hopes this helps anyone else who noticed this.
If this is a repeat, sorry, this thread is getting pretty long.

If you go to the site now you'll see that I Mcguivered it to shows US$ in there by the Total but I'm sure there is better (correct) way of doing this and hopefully one that will work for ANY currency used. (Personally I would like to see it near the actual dollar amount if possible)
Hello, Boys and Girls!
Just a quick question:
Is this COWOA mode the same thing as the Fast and Easy Checkout from this source ( http://www.numinix.com/zen-cart/temp...t-for-zen-cart )?
thanks!

I'm using 1.3.8a and have the following MODs installed:
Column layout
COWOA
InternetSecure
When an order is placed and gets to the payment page, it shows 4 placeholders for the credit card types but only shows "My Image" in all four of them.
Not sure how to fix this.
Please see attached
Does anyone know how to show the currency symbol by the dollar amount at the checkout?
I need to show not only the dollar amount but also the currency that it's being charged it when the customer goes through the checkout.
I'm using COWOA and have also installed the InternetSecure mod and that's who needs to see this at the checkout.
Can we show a currency symbol next to the dollar amount?
I'm surprised that is not a toggle in the admin somewhere.
Thanks
Robert
I would like to get back to the split screen login to give the customer a choice of if they want to create an account or use the COWOA to place their order.
I read a post in this forum about how a slight code change in one of the files would turn off/bypass that split screen and go straight to the COWOA page which it's currently doing and working fine.
I can't find the post to see how to re-edit that file and go back to the split screen checkout.
I still have the splitscreen option turned on in Admin, just the checkout process to point me to the original file again.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am using Zen 1.3.8 and have the COWA mod installed. I am trying to remove the options for email formats (Text only or HTML).
I successfully removed this option with the create_account.php file, but I am having trouble with the no_account.php file.
I am commenting out this line in includes/modules/my_template/no_account.php:
Any help is always greatly appreciated.Quote:
if (!isset($email_format)) $email_format = (ACCOUNT_EMAIL_PREFERENCE == '1' ? 'HTML' : 'TEXT');

Thank you,

Hi MC,
Please note: a recent client of mine asked for the Newsletter/Email type to be removed from registration process, which all worked okay until ZC emailed out the first 'Order Confirmation' which went out as text only.
ZC requires a value to be passed to the dbase for at least 'email type' if it doesn't the dbase has no value inserted and when ZC sends out any email it checks for what email type is set and since there is no value in the dbase it defaults to sending text emails, therefore no pretty html templated emails.
To get around this you could turn off Newsletters in 'admin->configuration->customer details' via 'Show Newsletter Checkbox' and then change the english defined for the label 'Newsletter and Email Details' in /includes/languages/english.php to perhaps 'Email Preference'
or
hide the html from registration form altogther using css, and preset the radio to 'HTML' option; that way at least its setting a value in dbase.
regards,
Matt
Just installed this and it works splendidly. But only after I manually installed the files.
Simple question, how do I go about altering the layout between vertical and horizontal? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Hi Matt,
Thanks so much for your help on this.
I disabled the newsletter option in admin->configuration->customer details. The COWA form cleared the newsletter option, but the "sign-up for account" form did not.
Nonetheless I removed the HTML and Text-only options for the COWA form by going to includes/templates/mytemplate/templates/tpl_modules_no_account.php and commenting out:
That worked perfect. I am still working on the create accounty page and will keep an update on my progress. :smile:Code:<?php echo zen_draw_radio_field('email_format', 'HTML', ($email_format == 'HTML' ? true : false),'id="email-format-html"') . '<label class="radioButtonLabel" for="email-format-html">' . ENTRY_EMAIL_HTML_DISPLAY . '</label>' . zen_draw_radio_field('email_format', 'TEXT', ($email_format == 'TEXT' ? true : false), 'id="email-format-text"') . '<label class="radioButtonLabel" for="email-format-text">' . ENTRY_EMAIL_TEXT_DISPLAY . '</label>'; ?>

Hi there... dumb question here.
I am in the process of installing the COWOA module in our zen cart (v1.3.8) and I get the concept of replacing YOUR_TEMPLATE name folder with the template name you are actually using in your site (I'm using the default green one) but some forlders have the "freetemplate2" name.... do I also replace the name of the tamplate I am using there?
thanks,..
Do not worry about "freetemplate2". What happened was that I was hosting the download for COWOA on my site and when my site got hacked, I accidentally deleted the download when I was in the process of cleaning up my files. Someone else on these boards was smart enough to keep a copy of the download and was nice enough to send it to me so that I could continue hosting it. I assume "freetemplate2" was the name of their template because if you look at the files, they are the same as the COWOA files. You do not have to upload the "freetemplate2" files. It wont hurt anything if you do, it will just take up a little space. At some point, when I find the time, I will go through and remove that from the download.
Thanks for the reply.... Now it makes sense...
I'm pretty sure I've uploaded all the files. I've installed the patch and turned on split-login..but I can't see the checkout without account on the login page.
I'm a bit confused about the freetemplate2 folders though. I've only just installed Zen Cart and I've not made any modifications until this one..so do I need to upload those files? I've uploaded them..but surely the standard green template needs the freetemplate2 folders uploading to it? Argh I'm so confused.
See this post: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...&postcount=895
Furthermore, you will not see the checkout without account option at the login screen. You will only see the COWA option at check out.

The first step of checkout is the login page. It is where you are taken when you click on "checkout", unless you are already logged in, in which case you are taken to main_page=checkout_shipping.
COWOA will only appear when there are items in the cart. If there are items in the cart and you still do not see COWOA, the number one reason is an FTP error when you uploaded your files. Reinstall.
