It's an effect similar to the popular "lightbox" effect.

This version is based on Prototype 1.6.0.2 and Scriptaculous 1.8. We've combined the two into one file to keep the total file size under 90KB.

Checked your site in both IE6 and IE7 the rounded corners appear in both.

As for as the hover working from IH, your page loads don't show stylesheet_imagehover.css, so check to verify that you didn't delete the files necessary for IH hover to work.

And only the Small Images in Image Handler have every zoomed, in which the small Image dimensions must match your image settings.

I reinstalled the IH 2 and everything is working again. Not sure what I did, but I guess I must have done something. Not sure why the corners are missing on the lightbox when viewing with IE on my computer, but no matter. If you can see it, then it's prolly my browser.

Try clearing your browser's cache ... shut-down and restart it as well.

My hover isn't hovering? I also sent pay pal for services and have not heard anything yet on how to obtain the services I paid for.

Everything appears to be working fine.

Yup, I fixed the problem by putting the image handler file includes/templates/template_default/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js into my own template as well.

I am really sorry to ask on here but I saw Hover Box 3 demo and it looks fantastic so I want to get some information straight!

What is the difference between Hover Box 3, Image handler 2, and Light Box? I have only used IH2 and seen a demo of HB3 and I have to say, I am biased towards the HB3 style. What are the key differences? Can they function together?

HoverBox3 and Image Handler2 are two different modules but they can work together beautifully. IH2 allows hover zoom-in while HB3 works like a pop-up window but darkens the background. With the latest version, you can even play all the additional images. I think LightBox is similar to HoverBox. Hope this is helpful.

So if I have IH2 people can see a zoom while browsing and HB3 will let them see a pop-up like image if they click?

Yes, the HB3 mainly works in the product info page when people click. IH2 works as a hover effect for small images.

There are many folders and files in the unzipped folder. What gets uploaded and to where. I am assuming the the root of the store? replacing the template folde with the currently active template folder escapes me :huh:. Can you please clarify this. I am just setting this up on a test site on my local system using XAMPP, etc, and that is all good. Just need some assistance at putting things where they should be.

The folders entitled, "YOUR_TEMPLATE_FOLDER" have contents that should go into your template folder that exists within your current Zen installation.

The structure of the download is in the proper structure for installation into Zen.

The folder of files for installation into zen is "files-for-zen-cart"

Once you've uploaded the files, you'll need to install the SQL.

Has anyone got Hoverbox working with the Zenmagick template system? I am unclear on where to put Hoverbox's files for that.

The hover pop-up, when scrolling over product images is part of Image Handler, if you install Image Handler after installing HoverBox ...

Make SURE ...

You replace the additional_images.php file with the one HoverBox supplies after installing Image Handler.

Found a problem with HoverBox3. In Firefox, it works very well. In IE7, it looks funny. See attached pictures.

There are 2 display differences between Firefox and IE7. When someone clicks on larger image, the window that pops up is not centered and the background does not cover the whole page.

Is this a stupid IE7 "feature"? God... I hate IE7, it's always so problematic. How do I fix this? Thanks.

No they're not compatible.

One runs on the MooTools library, the other, HoverBox is based on the Prototype framework.

Personally, I'd think you'd like HoverBox better - and to use you'll need to remove all files added for slimbox.

Looks like you've found an overlay bug, can you send me a link to the page where this is happening.

The overlays is controlled by the JS, which I'll need to fix, repack, and send you for testing.

Lightbox is based on an old library of Prototype.
HoverBox is currently based on the most recent version of Prototype, taking advantage of advanced features available, better logic.

HoverBox provides complete customization options via the Administration area of the cart. You've got the option to decide what you want in the display, background colors, etc...

Ability to provide smart image resizing using browser dependent capabilities to keep the "entire" image within view. Lightbox doesn't do this.

Next release will include additional features, and upcoming Advanced release will plugin to entire Zen structure allowing for use of HoverBox outside just images. You'll be able to use for any content.

Make sure to remove all the files you installed for LightBox ... the two frameworks will conflict and can't co-exist together, even though they're the same framework.

Please let us know if you have any problems.

One thing I forgot to mention, you gain a slideshow capability as well.

I ask again, why don't you put this mod in the Zencart Forum Downloads section? Then, this problem can be averted all together.

Would you please comment on exactly what the database sql does. I want to try your software since I really dislike the popup of large image. But I want to be sure exactly what is being adjusted and exactly how to uninstall if I don't like it ... or if I upgrade in future may have to uninstall to upgrade then install anew after upgrade. I was on your website last night and downloaded the file successfully. It was a hassle and the other guy suggesting you add it to the Zen Cart mods area for download is probably a good suggestion ... and you'd have many more people using your hard work.

Please elaborate on the install and uninstall ... what is being done. I'm a newbie at Zen. Only 1week. But really liking it and learning fast.

I have a slight problem with HoverBox 3 in that in the file ic_hoverbox_config on line 22

the "<" is causing a problem in that it causes html to be invalid the return from the validator is

* You tried to include the "<" character in your page: you should escape it as "&lt;"

* Another possibility is that you forgot to close quotes in a previous tag.
I know this is a small issue butas I am not well up on javascript do not know how to fix.

Hi, thanks for the mod. I installed Zen Cart and the test data on my site. I then installed HB3. The problem is, the "close" icon does not appear when I click on the "larger image" button to activate HB3. Any assistance you can give would be appreciated.

is it possible in any way that there is not the image "larger Image" below the main product image but the old functionallity with the link on the picture and the old text "click to enlarge".
I think the old way is better for multilanguage support.
What changes are required in tpl_modules_main_product_image.php to have the old way but using HB3?

Sorry... looks like I had a duplicate post. The IH2 issue is resolved.

The "close" button issue is still there. I checked the error console and didn't see anything.

my main pic will do the HB3 affect, but my additional images will not. i also cannot get the slideshow, or additonal images to show up in the larger image click. http://www.wfomotoxtreme.com/index.p...roducts_id=180. any suggestions? i am running HoverBox3, ImageHandler2, ZenCart v1.3.7, with the It's Christmas 1.1 template. oh yeah, i've cleared the bz cache as well.

Sorry for my numerous posts, but I'm just starting to design my store. I installed IH2 and then HB3 and the hovering is no longer working. So, your post above means that I should have installed IH2 after HB3 and replaced the additional_images.php file with the one HoverBox supplies? So a reinstall of IH2 and the subsequent replacing of the file should do the trick, no? I don't want to reinstall IH unless I have to.

I am familiar with IH2 and Lightbox. They don't do what I want.
1. I want to have a large image shown when I hover over the image on the Product Info page. It's only for display purposes like an additional image.
2. The large image will be different than the product image. Could have the same/related file name.
3. I want to be able to 'select' which images have a hover image. e.g. only those which have _MED or _LRG images in the proper folders. I don't want it to work on ALL images like IH2.
4. I don't need a fade to dark background like Lightbox. Just have the image 'float' over the product page.

Will Hover 3 do what I need???

Now I want to put the image on the first page, same like the hoverbox downlaod page. I have it exactly the same way the product page. However when I click on LArge image" it jsut gives me a large image and does not Hovers!

Just want to say a great contribution! I installed with no problems, and it works like a dream! well done! :clap:
My only very small niggle is that it has now somehow misaligned my product page layout. I had a mod installed which centered everything, it looked nice and neat. However since adding Hoverbox3 it has moved the image over to the left and the description underneath it but to the right!
My guess is that some of the same files are used, (- though I am a newbie so could be wrong!) anybody know how to fix this? :unsure:

Just as an fyi, the donation / payment system you have on your site to make a donation for Hoverbox is confusing.

Do you have Paypal express and regular paypal setup by chance?

I tried to submit a donation, but kept getting caught up in a loop of continually having to login to my paypal account and when I would click "submit", I kept being taken back to the "confirm your package" page.., would click to send payment again, then had to log back into my paypal account and and the cycle continued.

I tried 4 times with the same result.

I also installed IH2 before HB3 and now my IH2 hover is not working, either, although HB3 is working.

Which should be installed first? IH2 or HB3? It seems like no one has answered this question.

Never mind.. I went back and found and used the same solution dealsbyethan used and it worked.

Everything is working well for me for Hoverbox but I was wondering if there was a way to have the images as direct http links instead of just image/bla.jpg links. I have another website that is managing all of our products and images and I would like to link to that website for the pictures.

EX:

http://www.backofficesite.com/produc...ures/12345.jpg

but when I update any of the products it automatically puts it as

images/products/12345.jpg

and if I put an http in there it puts it like this:

images/products/http://www.backofficesite.com/product/product_pictures/12345.jpg

I cant figure out where to change it so that I can include it as its own http://

I have slimbox installed atm, i upgraded promptly from lightbox because i heard complaints that it... 'wasnt working'... when this was in reality because the 60k jscript file hadnt loaded yet... slimbox fixed this problem. i was curious about hoverbox, because i never settle and im always up for something better... but i noticed the file sizes were pretty big... what is to keep me from running into the file size problems with this one? i know its built off of a different code base so i cant assume anything, but i dont want to go to the hassle of switching unless its REALLY worth it... earlier in the post someone asked what the differences were and you talked only about hoverbox vs lightbox, not hoverbox vs slimbox... any insight?

HoverBox waits for the page to load then displays appropriately, you won't have the issues associated with Lightbox. :lamo:

All was working fine, until I installed zen lightbox. Now when you click larger image, it does nothing for a while, then the jpg opens up in a new window...??? I made a backup of my sql db before I installed zen lightbox. So I restored the db, and reinstalled hoverbox3, but it still isn't working.

Okay, what I needed to do was to take out the \includes\templates\**mytemplate**\jscript\lightbox*.js files. They were causing the problem some how.

I'm having a major problem with hoverbox3 rc2.

Whenever I enable it, internet explorer acts like every one of my products lead to a "404 page not found". Firefox works just fine.

I've got hoverbox disabled now so internet exploder will load my products, but you can see the error I get when I validate the site with W3C. Please look at this thread:

Error ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists

I have copied all the files and run the SQL update

Now when I go to open a product, It doesn't show the product description, neither the menu on the left (I have attached a picture of the problem "hoverbo3 - problem"

When I go to Configuration > Hover3 , and change the
"enable Hover Box3" to false, the product page shows correctly again

I have attached a picture of this as well "hoverbox3 - original"

Any help will be appreciated

13 statements is the correct amount to be processed. Try running the uninstall script, then running the installation SQL again.

You've skipped a file it appears, php is breaking when it's trying to load HoverBox ... check that you got all the files included in the package installed correctly.

It appears that you've possibly left out the image that is included with the download. Check to make sure you uploaded the includes/template/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/hoverbox folder, replace YOUR_TEMPLATE with the template you currently have active.

Try running the uninstall SQL then re-run the SQL for installation.

Well i do have that folder placed in the correct spot on the server under my current template. Everything seems to work but i have to click the "larger image" link to bring up the hover box instead of the picture. Something else i would be interested in is changing the "larger image" text and color. Please any advice here in the link

You need to alter the link color of your featured products, blinded by the light :shocking: ...

Also, one link for your image is better than two. If you'd really like to change that let me know. You'll need to edit a template file.

The link color can be changed via the CSS (stylesheet).

LOL yes i know I have tons of work still yet to do with this site. Especially with the colors. However I am doing this site for a client and I am going to let him choose the colors that fit him and his company best. However I have altered them all pretty much except that one still working out the major kinks. I don't necessarily need the "larger image" link gone but smaller and different colors. What css stylesheet do i need to edit to get the link smaller and different color. Also I still haven't gotten an answer about getting my image to have a hyperlink that works with hoverbox 3. You'd need to alter the height and width of your image, and linking the photo would need to be done in the tpl_modules_main_product_image.php file.

I installed the HB3 and it didn't work in IE6 due to conflict with swfobject. In FF worked fine.

Can you please explain to me what and how i need to edit the tpl file. I have fixed the "larger image" link i was unaware that there was a photoshop file that i can edit that particular gif file and change it to whatever i like. So thanks for the help on all that. However I am not sure exactly how to edit that file you mentioned to get it to link to a larger picture but not by pop up but with the hoverbox just like the larger image link does.

I am having one small issue that may just be a built in fail-safe.
On images that are smaller/normal sized it displays perfectly and has the full name etc. plus the close image/link. However on larger... 2"x10.5" (we are a printing warehouse that keep printed items in stock) when I click the product image it pulls it up with the name but it does not show a 'close' button/link. Thus the only way to get out of the blackened showcase stage is to hit escape.

(Not a big deal to a cs major, but to the average joe that uses our website this could be confusing)

Do you have any pointers or helpful ideas? I read the entire thread and haven't seen anyone else with this problem. I'm assuming it's due to the size of the image?

Sorry if this is a noob question but I am new to zen cart. i saw a demo of Hoverbox and loved it, I am using xampp on a local machine and downloaded and installed hoverbox3 clean install not upgrading, it shows up in the configuration and says it is enabled but does not seem to be doing anything, when I click on an image to enlarge it just opens a new frame as it would before hoverbox. Any suggestions?

I'm having an issue or two with HoverBox 3.

I love the effect, and it works no problem for the first image of my product. It does not however work for my extra images. They simply open in a new frame as if hoverbox was disabled.

i have the swfobject and hoverbox issue aswell. swfobject won't work with hoverbox, or lightbox for that matter. something about the order it loads in. can anyone provide a fix for swfobject?
