Default EZ Pages in Site Map

Is it possible anymore to get EZ pages in the sitemap? I had downloaded the module, but it was last tested in 1.3.8 and i cannot get it to work in 1.3.9h. :/ I've tried on both my (local) site and a clean install.

I suppose i can just hard-code them in, but if they can be generated, I'd be glad to save myself the time.

Did you remember to change the folder called YOUR_TEMPLATE ?

This needs to be changed to match the name of the template you are using on your site.

while i understand that forgetting to change the template name is one of the most common mistakes with installing mods, that is not my issue. there are two files in the mod, and both are in their respective positions.

not to be rude, but i feel like i just talked to a tech guy that asked "have you restarted your computer?"

So I think i figured it out, but not really. I did another baby-fresh install of ZC, installed the mod and voila! Nothing. So I messed with some settings/configs, and turns out you NEED to have the ezpage turned on in the sidebar (green box and a number that's not 0) for this to work. It apparently won't take anything that is activated somewhere that's not the sidebox (aka header or footer, but not sidebox).

That said, while it worked on the fresh install, i cannot get it to work on my other site. This may have something to do with the fact i've installed a mod for a drop down menu.

And also, unfortunately, from seeing what it does on the fresh install, turns out the abilities of this mod are much more limited than i hoped and there is no differentiation in "chapters," as the TOC, for example.

In short, i hope the above helps people out in the future, but alas, it is not for me. :)

One of my associates has a Masters Degree in computer sciences. Some months ago his laptop computer just "died" on him... turned itself off...

He tried to re-start, then looked over at the wall socket - yes... plugged in and switch on.

After an hour of fiddling, he boxed it up and took it to the IT dept for checking.

He then came back to the office and saw that the kettle-plug that goes into the back of the charger unit had worked itself loose... It appeared to be plugged in, but wasn't...

He had been working on battery power and the computer self-shut after the battery ran out.

    Haha oops.

Like I said, I know why you gave such basic advice, but i was really looking for something more in-depth, particularly since i mentioned i was having issues with two separate ZC installations (neither are working, still - just the extra-fresh one i mentioned). *shrugs*

Some modules place customisations in files that already contain customisations from another module.

So, if module "A" sends a custom version of a tpl_xxx.php to your template override folder... and then later you install another module "B" which also has a customized tpl_xxx.php file... what could be happening is that if you OVERWRITE one with the other, the functions that the initial module depended on have now disappeared.

It is therefore necessary to LOOK CAREFULLY at what files are being used in a module, then to note them down, and then when you install OTHER modules, you will know if you have to "blend together" two xxx_xxx.php files instead of overwriting the earlier one.

perhaps this is your scenario with the earlier installs.

I have a question about this mod. It works fine, except for one niggling little thing that is going to bother me. There is a gap above the EZpages section. I have looked at the sitemap templates and I can't figure out why that gap is there. Can someone help?

    Here is my site map:

(My site is not quite ready to go live, fwiw, so don't judge too harshly.)

HMM... I wish I had known there was a mod for this. I manually edited my site map pages to add in the EZ Pages.

I'm wondering what I did wrong with this mod install. I use Piccadilly posh template. I didn't see a tpl_site_map_default.php in the /includes/templates/YOUR TEMPLATE/common, so since it wasn't included in that template and the read me did not say to add it, just change it, I did not add this file and I don't know if that is the problem.

    I added the /includes/templates/YOUR TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_box_default_sitemap.php

I changed the name of Your Template. I enabled sideboxes/ezpages.php in admin. I don't see my EZ page listed in the sitemap or the sidebox. I have one ez page named Boutique.

Using 1.39h and I have checked in Firefox and IE 10

    Thanks!
