If you don't mind sharing, what slideshow did you settle on to replace Easy Slider???
I just installed the package to replace a slide show on a test cart and am seeing a lot of html validation errors which are slide show related.

The new slider in the template updates is Jquery slides, http://slidesjs.com. The template packages will validate html with no errors.
