Resizing is an admin event_manager function and is completely separate to the display of event images in event calendar.

That's not completely true.. the re-sized image is what is displayed on the events page.. the resizing is taking place in the events manager.. You made it clear early on in these discussions that YOU don't necessicarily want this module to re-size images for you that you would prefer to do this work yourself and upload the full image. on the front end to support the CSS driving the image resizing, you do need to remove the IMG height and width or the images will distort.
