You can do that with CSS. I would have to see the menu items on your site to give correct advice, along with a list of pages where you want to see them opened. Be sure you structure the submenu items as a <ul> list so they are amenable to CSS handling.

Please, if possible, post the solution (omitting/altering any business sensitive info as necessary), I started following this link so I might learn something about how to do what is being discussed, especially since ZC 1.6 is supposedly going to be more CSS rich.

I don't understand what you are trying to do here. The site you linked to has the entire categories sidebox content replaced with a table with individual category links. Each link is inside its own <ul> and <li>, which makes CSS useless on it... but why do you want to replace the standard categories sidebox coding, which automatically opens the current top category and closes the rest?

Actually I have to include shop by heath concern in the website which has 4 level of menu. For shop by health concern I don't want to give link to level 1 & level 2 menu. So I want to hard code it. Also I want to hide shop by health concern menu item which is generated dynamically from by top menu and left side-box. I will appreciate if you could help me on this.

This is something that Categories Dressing from Plugins can handle. Some customized settings in its files will let the rest happen automatically. For help setting that up, go to the CD support thread.
