Why?? All you need for this to work is to COLLECT a P.O. number.. There is a module that does this, and it has not YET been explained why it cannot be used and WHAT needs to be done DIFFERENTLY..

Not trying to be difficult here, but so far all that's been posted is the following:

    • I had code that USED to work, now it doesn't (but ZERO explanation as to what "doesn't work" means)
    • I tried to use "other modules" but they don't work (with ZERO explanation as to what "doesn't work" means)

and NONE of this "information" can help the community help anyone..

Based on a limited information provided, and knowing what a P.O. is SUPPOSED to be, and how a P.O. is SUPPOSED to work, I suggested a viable solution, and for reasons that have YET to be made clear, that suggestion is ALSO "not going to work"..

Hard for ANYONE to offer a solution when there isn't enough information given..

    You don't??

Are you SURE?? Did you DOWNLOAD Super Orders?? Because if you did you would very CLEARLY see what I am speaking of..

And let me be CLEAR.. You don't need to install Super Orders JUST to get the P.O. module.. You only need to copy over the files that support the P.O. module that comes with it.. And perhaps even the "Outstanding Payments" report:
This report displays all your outstanding payment paperwork. Each radio
button will search for orders that are missing the indicated transaction piece
(e.g. searching "Purchase Orders" will display orders in which the customer
chose to pay via PO but has not submitted a PO yet).

NOTE:I have I tried 2 different P.O. Number modules and they cause other problems which is most likely due to the way I am using ZC.

I did not say there was a problem with the payment modules but rather that the did not work for me due to the way I am using ZC

    DivaVocals,
You are right, for the sake of brevity I did not explain in detail.
(It would take me an hour to type that up)
I can not show the live site as it's restricted to approved customers as the data is proprietary.
When I get the time I will put up a test site to show you the final product.

NOTE:I have I tried 2 different P.O. Number modules and they cause other problems which is most likely due to the way I am using ZC.

I did not say there was a problem with the payment modules but rather that the did not work for me due to the way I have customized ZC

Currently I am trying to implement the hack that was posted in 2008.
I will also checkout Super Orders and when I get a solution I will post the results here.
I did not think about just using parts of a plugin as typically all parts are dependent on each other.

Thanks for your time and patience.

Right but you are asking for HELP on this forum.. BREVITY doesn't help the community to help you.. We need the DETAILS to help you, not just the information you THINK we need.. (and not for nothing.. did you notice that there are only TWO of us here chiming in???) Perhaps MORE DETAIL would get a better response from others.. IJS..

I get you can't show the site, but you STILL haven't said what the heck you mean by " they cause other problems which is most likely due to the way I am using ZC". Someone in the community MIGHT be able to HELP with that if ONLY you'd say what the heck you mean by that statement.. If only you'd EXPLAIN what P.O. module(s) you installed and what was the ISSUE that brought you to the conclusion that " they cause other problems which is most likely due to the way I am using ZC". Make sense???

and again you STILL have yet to state what the ISSUE was with this code.. DETAILS.. can't help you if you don't meet folks halfway..

I actually said that the FIRST time I suggested it..

That said.. I had another thought this morning.. Will have to look because it's been a while, but I don't thing the P.O. module from Super Orders gets you what you want either.. I don't think it captures the P.O. at the time of order placement..

BUT.. I had another thought/suggestion.. There is an OLD Ceon payment module for manual credit cards that could POSSIBLY be adapted to accommodate the collection of the P.O. number.. You of course will have to modify the code to adapt it for this purpose, but I think it might do the trick.. On that SAME note, look for the Direct Deposit module.. I think it also could be adapted to create a module to capture the PO number at the time of order placement..

Okay.. so I take ALL of what I said previously back..

I had a SMALL amount of free time and I looked at the two P.O. modules in the free downloads. They BOTH capture the P.O. at the time of order placement..

I PERSONALLY would NOT use this one: purchase order module by knuckle . This module makes WAY to many changes (unecessarily IMHO) to core files JUST to capture a P.O. number at the time of order placement.

What I am CURIOUS about is WHY if you installed the other module Purchase Order Basic it DIDN'T work for you.. Based on the support thread, and module description it certainly DOES capture the P.O. number at the time of order placement.. (your BASIC requirement)

Which goes back to what I've been saying in my last few posts.. If ONLY you'd provide some DETAILS on what's happening/going wrong, then the community MIGHT be able to HELP you..

in fec there is an order options box that displays at checkout, if you enable checkbox in Fec admin a signature option displays to customer they can check this box, as far as i can tell, i dont see it recorded anywhere to know they want a signature. Same thing with fec dropdown box, except i can turn that box off, dont know how to turn other box off., i can change signature wording to what ever i want(i know where that file is). dont know how to return results of signature

You should post this question on the FEC thread as the purpose of this one is to help linuxguy2 work out a P.O. solution (which is NOT a unique FEC issue).. or alternately you could contact Numinix since they wrote FEC..

You should probably start a NEW thread to ask this question since the purpose of this one is to help linuxguy2 work out a P.O. solution..
