I tend to not trust very much so I prefer to download from zc. The version that I downloaded was added to zencart just an hour or so before I downloaded it. I figured they'd be monitoring this support thread...

    Thanks,

On 1.5.8/bootstrap clicking send without checking the box doesn't send as expected - so it works fine. Not sure about 1.5.6.

    So...
Is it being a member since 2007 or having made 2,435 posts that qualifies as untrustworthy?
Most items in the Plugins have a github repository. It IS the thing of Open Source.
    A little help with colors.

Bear in mind that when you download something that recent, it's likely an update for the current (or prior) release - not your version, which is two versions back. You might try Internal version: 7, but I really have no idea how well those older versions work, I just know that the latest version works with the latest Zen Cart.

It did say 1.5.6, 1.5.7 and 1.5.8 when I downloaded it. I see now it no longer says it works with 1.5.6. The readme with the package states "if you're using pre-156, please use an earlier version of this plugin". Guess I'll be removing those files and see if i can find a set that supports 1.5.6, or finish the upgrade to 1.5.8 already. lol

    Thanks,
    John

So I removed all files from the V3.5 install and then uploaded files from V3.4. I have added the google keys and have the exact same result. I do see a message in the google dashboard. We detected that your site is not verifying reCAPTCHA solutions.

    Thanks,
    John

Ok. It's working. It looks like some of the template files are 1.5.1. So I added the required changes to contact_us/header_php.php. Fingers crossed it stops the insane amount of spam.

    Thank you,
    John

Admin: please link this plugin to my Github.

This highlights the problem with the static plugins section. I have several things in there but no way I am going to "release" a new version for some minor change.
Sod's Law says as soon as you upload a new version, you find another problem. Especially with php moving the goalposts on a monthly basis.
So, I don't do that. I spend enough time altruistically providing code to worry about updating things here. For that is Github.

I tried this plugin in the past, and as usual with most plugins, found problems with it and a better way of doing things. So it's on GitHub,

The update here to the original plugin you refer to was nothing more than removing obsolete files. Not an update at all.

The whole mechanism of Plugins needs a complete rethink, now we are down to only a handful of people-interested-in-coding.

And it's perfectly reasonable to distrust stuff outside this site....but also you should distrust from a quality point of view what is in the plugins too, all and sundry have stuffed things in there of very varying quality.

I wasn't saying I didn't trust the poster. I was talking about downloading zencart plugins from places other than from zencart. Whoever's running the show here today I expect vets all code for malicious stuff before letting it go live for download.

    Thanks
