[Done v1.3.8] Shipping Module Setup

Currently I'm only offering a flat rate shipping option, which is not cost effective, on my ecommerce site. I use UPS for the flat rate shipping but would like to let my customers pick their own shipping options including international.

I'm learning that it's more complicated than simply installing the module. When I did activate the module without changing any of the options I get:

"United Parcel Service
We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown."

When I changed the zone to Florida, which was the only option available, the UPS shipping option disappeared from my site and in Zen the green circular graphic changed to yellow.

I'm not a programmer. What is the easiest way to intall the UPS mod? What "store" do I contact? Zen? UPS? Is this a matter of adding/changing zones? How do I do this? I have Zone 1: DC, MD, VA; Zone 2: East Coast; Zone 3: Midwest; Zone 4: West Coast; Zone 5: Western Europe and Zone 6: Eastern Europe.

For UPS don't set any zone ... let UPS determin the costs based on the shipping address ... this is done automatically ...

You just need to enter your 5 digit US zipcode in the Shipping/Packaging ... then the customer can choose what shipping method ...

QUESTION 1

I'm using the free options, (I have free shipping of - red light). I have it set for a Total >=100.00, the rest of the fields is blank. I have setup 3 shipping/tax definitions zones: 48US w/ o%tax (for Continental US), NON-48 w/0% tax (for evrything else) and Arizona w/ 8.1% tax. The 48US & Arizona zones both have priority 1, the NON-48 has priority 2

The shipping module I work with is UPS.

All shipping/tax zones have green indicator.

My shipping module Free Options is supposed to show free ground shippin option for all orders equal to 100.00 or more within Continental US (so I specified the US48 shipping zone) The indicator light changed to orange (it returns to green when I specify "none" for shipping zone)
But with no zone specified I cannot limit free shipping option for orders of $100.00 or moreto within Continental US only...

QUESTION 2

There is a mode available called Free Shipping Rules. Can this module co-exist with the Free Shipping Options? If yes how do I prioritize the two?

QUESTION 3

Which module (shipping rules or shipping options) would I use to offer free shipping if the total is >=100.00 OR weight =<0.5 lbs ? (ANY of the two conditions would meet free shipping criteria. What is exaxt difference between free shipping rules and free options?

The Free Shipping Options freeoptions should allow for the Total >= 100.00 OR Weight <= .50

Test this without the zone setting first to make sure it is triggering correctly ...

Then check the zone you defined for errors ...

The condition work, the indicator is orange. How would I check the defined zone for errors?

Providing that the zone is set and each definition is added then it should display only for those with a proper address ...

I defined the US48 zone as follows: inserted one by one all Continental states (United States) plus Washington DC which gives me 49 zones under US48 definition.

All shipping modules display w/ green indicators but my US48 zone definition has the yellow indicator unless I set zones for it to "none"
Hovever if the zone is set to "none" it will not give free shipping for items=>100.00...

Yes, its seems to work. I'm worrying about this orange indicator. I did try to uninstall and reinstall the free shipping options but the orange is still there...
