When you pick your template, you have to go to Admin/Tools/Layout Boxes
Controller and hit the reset button to turn the sideboxes on.

    Thanks, that did the trick.
I'm getting a lot closer now.

When you change templates, you have to set/reset the sideboxes manually in the admin.

I'm well on my way with the help of the good people on this site.

The next thing I would like to do is edit the contents of the "Information" and "Important Links" boxes.
I don't want to turn them off, just adjust what is displayed in them.
Is this possible? I can't find it in the manual.

    Thanks again

You'll modify the pages in the Information sidebox by using the Define Pages
Editor located in Admin/Tools/. First make a custom folder (named exactly the
same as your custom template) in includes/languages/english/html_incudes.
Place copies of the define_**filename**.php files that you plan to edit from
the html_includes folder, and set write permissions. (don't forget to change permissions back once edited).

You can turn off the ones you don't want to use at all in Admin/Configuration/Define Pages Status.

If you want to add more links in Information or More Information, use the About Us contribution in the downloads section.

The pages in Important Links are EZ Pages. You can build your own in
    Admin/Tools/EZ-Pages.

    Hello!,
I starting to upgrate my store now, i use v1.3.7 and in docs/whatsnew_1.3.8.html file i found this informations which is very interesting for me:
Upgrade Instructions from v1.3.7 to 1.3.8

If you are upgrading from Zen Cart v1.3.7, the process is simple:
    - compare all the changed files with the files on your own site... and re-apply your customizations to the new files
    - upload the new files (with your customizations added) to your site
    - upload the zc_install folder to your server, and run zc_install/index.php
... select Database Upgrade from the System Inspection screen. Apply the required updates
From that info I understand that if I`m using 1.3.7 version and want to upgrate to 1.3.8 the process in more simple. Before I start I want to ask you first to confirm the steps I want to make to upgrate my store:
    0. I will do the backup - files and DB and I will set the store to the maintenance mode.
    1. I will open the new/modifyed files (like language files or config files) and I will modify them according to my store path, language etc. After I modify the I will upload them to FTP (ovewrite will be for the old files that was modifyed and simple upload for new ones)
    2. I will upload zc_install and run it and I will select only Upgrate to the DB.
    3. I will se if all my addons steel workm if not i will reinstall them ( Is it better to remove them first and after upload reinstall them?)
    4. I will se if the template steel work, if not, I will reinstall it and reset/reorder the sideboxes.
    5. I will test the store to se if is there any errors in viewing site pages or in checkout process.

Please advise me what to do else or where my plan is wrong.

    Thanks a lot!
