OK - going to close this one myself... I did a bit more digging and even though the errors weren't the same, I changed 2 things in my config based on what I saw... Turns out it isn't the Google Site Map...

I think the cache was set up wrong (or the SSL) as the cart is now working.

    Thanks.

    Hi There

hope someone out there can help with this!

I have just finished installing the mod for googlesitemap 1.3.8, i followed all the instructions in the readme file, and triple checked that all files were placed in the correct folders on my site, when i tried to create my sitemap i'm getting the following errors, of which i have absolutely no idea what they mean.

I eventually figured it out, i have read and re-read the numerous posts on this topic and found that there are tons more who have this problem, the concensus among the users who've offered help to us with the sitemap problem always advocate that you copy and paste the sql file in admin/sql patches. This is what i had done and everybody else too i suspect, but it never worked out right.

What i did to get it working was to UPLOAD the sql file instead, generated my sitemap and hey presto it worked, all 3 sitemap_xml were created including all urls.. SO anyone who just can't get the google sitemap to work using all recommended methods, PLEASE, PLEASE UPLOAD THE FILE THROUGH ADMIN AND TRY AGAIN, IT WILL WORK.....

Thanks all for your help anyway..

    Regards

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this post... but here goes -

Has anyone ever thought of creating a sitemap to the posts in the testimonials manager? I'm going to create a custom XML file for this as several my sites have really great testimonials that I would like indexed.

I'm also going to look at the code creating the EZ-Pages and see if I can come up with something to create this automatically for submission.

    Default Re: Google SitemapAdmin

I have successfully installed Sitemap, Configured it, and Ran it to create the expected 3 files.

However, the URL's are all wrong.

I am on shared hosting with BlueHost. My store domain is an add-on, so it lives below the main domain. The sitemaps use the Main Domain as the Base URL.

How do I get Sitemap to use my store URL's?

    Main Domain = sell-a-ton.com
    Store Domain = bobbibopstuff.com
    Store catalog = bobbibopstuff.com/
    Store directories = home/sell-a-ton/public_html/bobbibopstuff/

    Sitemap uses these URL's
    Save path - "/home/sellaton/public_html/bobbibopstuff/"
    Base URL - "http://sell-a-ton.com//"

What would I need to do to either mod the Sitemap files or databases to use or generate the correct URL, or to my hosting configurations?

    Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, permission denied problem due to CHMOD setting.

U need to change frm 644 to 666 for each 3 files (AND temporary set the public_html frm 755 to 777).

For robots.txt, just create the file by using notepad (blank file should be ok, for the time being).

by the way, there is a simple way to resolve the warnings you get from google in regards to all pages having the same priority, just open the xml files and change 1 or 2 pages priority to a number between 0.0 & 1.0 before you upload them to google, then proceed to ping the search engines, you should not have any warnings then

    hope this helps
