    Default A few questions...

First off, thanks to anyone who takes a look at this for me...I am having two issues (at least that I want to fix now):

    1. For some reason, my site is centered in Firefox, but not in IE...

    2. Is there anyway to get rid of the |_ characters that show up before the subcategories in the list?

    web site is: www.firesalegolf.com/catalog

Again thanks, this is driving me batty

Answer to #2 is Admin? Configuration> Layout Settings> Categories Separator between the Category Name and Sub Categories

Question for you - Have you searched the forum for your hosting? Might want to do that before you get too far along.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

NOTE: you are going to be very very sad with image files as large as:
    1620.12 KB (1659004 bytes)

Might wish to reduce those to 1 - 10k each ...

I have not searched my hosting forum...not entirely sure what you mean with that question?

Ajeh- Is that just because of loading time, or are their other drawbacks to having big images?

I will not stay on your site to wait for your images to finish downloading some day to my computer and filling up my cache with images of that size so I will spend all of my money else where ...

Clear your cache and see how long a page takes to load ...

Now, pay your hosting provider for each customer that clicks on each page for the bandwidth this will use ...

Now, pay your hosting provider for each spider that comes to your site and sucks down those images and all of the bandwidth that will be used ...

    Now pay ...

You really want to get those images down to a normal, acceptable size before you run out of money, customers or get in trouble with your hosting provider for excessive bandwidth etc. ...

Point taken, I will change the image sizes.

Do you have any idea as to why the site is not centered in IE?

Thanks, I appreciate your help. I reduced the image files significantly. I don't want to reduce them too small in case someone wants to "view larger image".

Along the same lines, is there anyway to optimize the images so that the smaller ones don't look so squished?

That's perfect...is that an add on? I don't see the option anywhere...
