    HairEnigma,

elkbow was on the money. You will need to switch from Windows to Linux. PHP on Windows IIS 6 servers runs as a CGI app and in safe mode. If you have not switched your operating system already you can follow these steps in the following help article.
    http://help.godaddy.com/article/1285

Also, you will be able to modify the file permissions to resolve the other 2 errors:

    admin configure.php is not writeable
    store configure.php is not writeable

    Sincerely,
Are there any article on using the Zen Cart anywhere on Godaddy? I cant find any.

Honestly? The best advice at this time is find a different host. If you search for GD on this forum you will see why.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

I too am having issues with GoDaddy.... I recently purchased a godaddy hosting account to move from my current company where the sql server keeps going down... I've backed up my data per every way I can find on zen cart wiki and forums... and have yet to be able to successfully restore my data. I am on a linux server with godaddy and when I call to get assistance... they say they will not assist me in moving my data... it's my problem. I'm half tempted to stay where I am - sql issues and all... My site is up for now and I am ready to pull the plug on the new godaddy hosting... that was after a week and a half of trying to get a static IP address... UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Well. Take it from a guy who just started with Godaddy. You should look elsewhere. Lots of small hosts that are super reliable and good but the idea of being on a tiny host kinda scares me. Makes me thing some guy has a server in his living room.

Im going to make a move soon from Godaddy. For some reason with them the box in the Product descriptions where you embed an image etc wont work!

Good progress that GDSupport has joined the forum, and it may be the first step in helping ZC users on GD to get setup properly.

Question remains... why did GD wait so long to react to their customer's complaints and concerns?

Perhaps GDSupport can get her company to do an audit on all clients with a ZC install and in the interests of customer service, UPGRADE them all free of charge to a compatible server?

    Hi,
I've been running my Zen Cart on Go-Daddy for almost a year now. It was more or less painless until now. There are times, when my zen cart data takes forever to load - or doesnt load at all. Regular html code, or other databases load without problems (blog, gallery, etc). Also, conecting directly to the database via Godaddy interface is no problem and queries work fast. I've contacted GoDaddy support a number of times, but they can not pass me to a technical person. Instead they just take down all the info and tell me that i will get a reply from a techy within 24 to 72 hours. In the meantime (like right now) , my e-commerce site could be completely down and they cant do anything about it. Finally , it starts working again and few hours later i get a reply from GoDaddy that they cant replicate this problem and that I should just buy a more expensive service if i want it to be more reliable. Few days later, the site stops working again. This is really frustrating and im looking for a new host. Would love to get any suggestions. Thank you.

    PS.
Here's the email i got from godaddy:
    ----
    Support Staff Response Dear ..,

Thank you for contacting Hosting Support.

I was unable to duplicate any slowness on your web site at the current
time. In shared hosting environments, there can be times when the load
spikes and causes a site to load slower than normal, but this is not
something that can be entirely avoided using shared hosting. If you
find that load times are unacceptable during peak times, you may want
to considering using a virtual dedicated or dedicated server in order
to host your web site. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Please contact us if you have any further issues.

    Regards,

    Aaron R.

    GDSupport,

these are the kinds of posts that are all over this forum,

I have a serious question and you can PM me any answer

DO your support people get a commission on selling upgrades?

I dont ask this to cause an issue but I have seen way to many times that rather than actually try to find a cause the first solution is always to try to sell an upgrade.

Merlinpa - that was always the answer I got when I had load speed issues and errors with them. A solution for Canada Post? Upgrade to virtual dedicated ($400/yr+) or dedicated ($900/year +).
All they need to do is make port 30000 available!

Happy to say I am no longer with goDaddy!

    Tina
