Help needed with Zones shipping please.

What are your settings in the Zone Rate zones shipping module?

NOTE: 00 (two zeros not two Os) means, everyone not otherwise defined ...

In zone1 I have GB.
I have used 00 for zone2.
I have left zone3 blank.

It now looks like this;

I'm wondering if there's perhaps a duffy php file involved somewhere - or a faulty database table...

Don't get me wrong, it works fine - it's just that it's selecting zone2 by default in the checkout, GB customers have to click the radio button to have shipping to GB to take effect - a lot probably won't as it appears to be pre selected and abandon the cart due to excessively high shipping.

If I go to the shop, not logged in, I have, by default, GB shipping on the Shipping Estimator of $0.98 on the shopping_cart ...

If I set the information anywhere else and Update, I get the rest of the world price of $4.98 on the shopping_cart ...

If I create an account for the UK and go to the shopping_cart I am given the GB price for $0.98 on the shipping estimator ...

The problem is the checkout add-on that you appear to be using ...

It is not updating and calculating things correctly in the right time ...

On a regular Zen Cart Checkout this is working fine ...

The problem is, as fairestcape suspected, bad code ...

Any suggestions how I can get the customers to click the radio button to set the correct postage rate? could I edit where it says 'zone rates' to something like 'zone rates - you must click the button to apply the correct postage'

I'd see about getting the add-on to just calculate the shipping properly in the first place like the checkout_shipping does ...

Perhaps there is something the writer for your add-on could do to fix the code the right way?

I had a much better idea - I uninstalled the add on

It was fast_easy_checkout that was causing the problem, so I got rid of it

It is now working perfectly so far as my tests so far go. There is a step or two more involved in the checkout process, but they seem to be mostly just checking stuff, no real hassle.

Thanks for the update that the original checkout that comes with Zen Cart works properly for you and solves the shipping problems you had with the add-on ...
