How to add a category?

Hi, I am new to ZenCart and can't find where to add categories.

I looked under the FAQ and it told me to go to Catalog>Categories/Products and then there should be a "new category" button..but I don't see one anywhere!

Also, I have another question: it says "WARNING: You have Products in the Top Level Category. This will cause pricing to not work properly in the Catalog. Products found: 2" What does this mean and how do I move the products out of the Top Level Category?

Unfortunately, since you have products in Top, there is no place you can create a temporary category to keep the products while you make subcategories.
I'm afraid you are going to have to delete all of the products so you can make the categories you want. (With only two products, this should not be too much trouble.)

If you have images for the products, you do not need to touch them. Just enter their current filepaths when recreating the products.

Hi, I have another question...

My products are food items sold at a restaurant so I don't want to have to input the quantity in stock. But if I set the Quantity in Stock to O it displays sold out. If I input for example, 1,0000000000 burritos in quantity in stock, then I don't have this problem.. but. There's got to be a way around this where you don't even have to enter quantity in stock?


I already figured out how to change it so the quantity is not displayed, but I just want to avoid inputting the quantity in stock altogether.
