application error Easy Populate, CSV file Problem

    Hi all,

I am struggling with an issue within Easy Populate, I had a programmer add some coding to the script which works with our supplier and now we have a hugh amount of product invenory on our site(29,000) Easy populate was working fine on download and create a full csv file, but since we have uploaded so many items, it creates the csv, but when you try and open it in excel it comes up with an error message "Not loaded correctly"

When the file opens up, each item is different, sometimes the get the description, title, price, image etc in the correct location, but the line under moves it along a colum, the next live does something totally different.

Basically the csv files is showing the fields in the incorrect place, so under description it may come up with the price, and under weight it might come up with the image etc.

Has anybody come across this before, or could anybody help. Our programmer insists it is to do with the easy populate module, as nothing was changed here when he did the work.

Can somebody please advise if they know the cure for this, or how to obtain an error report to find the solution?

Many many thanks to anybody who can assist

    John

Do you create the full csv for immediate download or do you create it to the server first and grab it from there?

We had a similar problem awhile back, G-Zip was the culprit for us, but we found the solution to be to let it create on the server first.

    hope this helps

Can anybody help, we urgently need to get this sorted so we can add our products to another website via a csv file. Or does anybody know of any other way of downloading inventory in csv format

You could always export the Products table from the database. The export has a few options for csv's..

Let me know if it works out

We tried the export, it does export some information but not the item descriptions

The descriptions are in another table: 'products_description'

You'll have to sort both in excel by products id then copy / paste to have one full file..

I wish everything was in one table, but it's all in bits.
