    Default HttpS IssueS...

OK, I've been customizing away and bending Zen Cart to my will... it's finally starting to look like I want, ONLY one problem:

Write a Review, Tell a Friend, and checkout are not working (it dumps in the cart but won't check out... All are trying to use https, which is yielding "page not found" errors...

    http://hammockgear.com/cart/index.ph...&products_id=2

How do I get users to be able to tell a friend, or read/write reviews WITHOUT registering?

And then further, how do I integrate the HTTPS so that pages aren't dieing?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Installed from Zen Cart v1.3.9d
    No Addons
Customizations are all design template and buttons...

You'll have to write custom code to do that. Zen Cart requires registration for those activities because otherwise those forms get spammed aggressively.

There are tons of handy FAQ and Tutorial articles at https://tutorials.zen-cart.com (see Tutorials link at the top of this page).
Searching for "https" there brings up the answer to your question as the first result.

requirements about logged in or not are in the admin. Tell-a-Friend is in e-mail -- BUT this can lead to spam being sent from your site. 1.3.9d controls this better but does not eliminate it.

If you do not have an SSL, you should not have it set to true in either configure.php file.

    Dr Bryte,

Is most of the spam being sent from sites like ours' done by humans, or is it mostly robotic?

I ask because maybe we can use reCaptcha and eliminate the need for people to sign in first to use those features?

    thoughts?

There are numerous pros and cons to using various types of captcha. Even reCaptcha has its flaws. It's certainly not a magic pill.

Where in Admin and e-mail do I find these? I'm not seeing the 'option'... Thanks! (and I finally got ssl working... relief)
